[e digicons][/e] The Scots' Planetary Improvement mod. Now that would make for some verrrry interesting structures, indeed! [e digicons][/e] If there weren't youngins around, I would offer some suggestions [e digicons]:omg:[/e] [e digicons]8O[/e] Gotta keep things decent, though.

Quick-n-Dirtie Fun with the Korx This is essentially an All Diplomacy strategy that is intended to produce a decent score in a fairly short amount of time. I set the Kork up as a Super Diplomat (SD), selected the Technologist Party, and put my bonus points into research, morale, and economics. I started with an x7 research tile on the home planet. I was looking for an x3, and just got lucky. I upgraded my space miner to a colony ship, and snapped up the first planet t

Welcome Random70 and Cypher! We appreciate your support!!! I realllllly gotta get me a photobucket account. Well, turns out my latest Korx effort would have made for a dandy point-grinder. What a map...... Things are looking good for the 4-5 year score, which is all I intended. Should be done tonight. Edit: Acco

Hmmmm. Good question about the crest. I'll have to forage around. In the mean time, the moroculous squirrel will have to suffice.

Twilight Pub! I like it! I'm changing the empire name. Well said, as always CL. Fun is what the game is supposed to be about. I'm having fun with the Korx now. In fact, I have almost destroyed the AIs before thay can finish colonizing my planets for me. My ultimate goal is to develop an easygoing strategy for schlaaarping up 300-400K in 4-5 years using the Korx and other stock ToA races. I like games that can be played in one or two days. The 700K point-grinders are nice on occasion,

Good afternoon, diminuative green one. I was going to apologize for being mean to you that other time. Sadly, I hit the wrong button and seem to have accidentally created an evil empire. Oops. It's our tiny little claws, you see. Always getting us into trouble, they are. Nice ship, by the way.

Well, they are a tun of fun to play. I only scored 100K, but it was a riot! I have not enjoyed a game this much in quite a while. I have some ideas that I believe will up the score dramatically.
Greatgoogliemooglie! The funniest part, I think, is that that's not even my favorite strategy. ...why are you relying on the AI for tech? Research it yourself.
I can't find the reeducation center anywhere on the Korath tech tree. All they seem to get are the 10% loyalty structures. If I keep getting 20 planets flipping per turn, I'll win in 6. Crappy score, but fun! I think I can adju
Try it with the Korath tree and Super Diplomat.
Greatgoogliemooglie! This works so well that I am in danger of wiping out all of the AIs before I can get Cultural Domination from anyone. I'm going to have to find some planet waaaayyyy off in the corner and fill it with the Korath loyaltymabobs. Even that may not be enough.

I could survive using the Thalans, but probably not generate a good score. Now, I have a dilemma. The game is going well, but I just discovered that I left the AIs in states of various relations other than "unknown" during my atlas module testing. Therefore, I can contact all of them before I officially "meet" them. Is it acceptable to do this in a metaverse game, or should I start again with all the AIs in the "unknown" state? Edit: Actually, I am going to star

Well, I am probably going to throw caution to the wind and play as the Korath so I can start with +45 weapons. It'll be reallllll tricky getting to that certain special moment, but I may just be able to pull it off. The selection of AI opponents is going to be critical, and I will be counting on the military score to make up for an anticipated hit to my econ score. Man, could you imagine trying to even survive as the Arceans on suicidal?

Thanks!!!! I'll have to revisit all the tech trees and compare the Neutral vs Evil perks. I'm tired of the Drath tree that has no ethics bonuses. The Korath certainly have some very attractive options. So do the Krynn. I don't have the guts to try the Thalans or Arceans. Yep, this is going to require some significant planning.

The first test: Attacking ships were large w/10 BHGs. One had an added Killzone Computer. We'll call it the KZL. Defending ship: Huge w/1 BHG and a bunch of armor. I ran this several times on the Full Fleet Battle setting. I did not mod the "luck". The KZL caused 90 HP of damage in the first round of attack in every test. The other Large only caused 62. Therefore, it would seem that this particular atlas module works in combat.
@Snark - What?!?! The Killzone computers don't help military score???? OMG. (Here CL breaks down into whimpers of frustration and pain). I've been patiently nurturing the Korath for the last two weeks and the last two games trying to get them to build Killzone's for me. I could have finished both these games much earlier if I had known this. Thank you for bringing this to my attention (and thanks to SS for discovering it). Good karma to y

*sigh* Thanks to SS's observation, I discovered that I have been making a terrible strategic error. It would seem that the kilzone computers and like modules do not actually add to the military score. *sigh* To determine if they do anything at all, I am going to conduct some experiments using a cheat-enabled ToA game. I will build a giant ship to give to the AI, then attack it with lesser ships. Some will have the atlas modules, others wil
