This beta my first game I run into this bullshit. I am sorry, but this shit is still not funny or FUN. I ain't recommending this game to anyone while this kind of stuff is still in the game. Better to go pla
Quoting ins2, reply 2 I also love the fact that wildling shamans now give some challenge. Please keep it as it is... EDIT: for everyone that was complaining about the fact that heroes can single-handedly clear the map, here is a good balance: for wildlings, you need to build up some units with magic resistance, initiative and/or tactical movement... Nothing you build will save you fr
I agree with others please keep this in. Game is weak when it comes to challange especially at the early game. This is like a breath of fresh air. Please don't cave into those who want the game handed to them with no challanges. If this is the type of game they want then they can go play Hello Kitty.
Well if they would have put ships in the game then you would have been in a good position.
Upgrading in this game really sucks. Hopfully they will put some love into this section.
Thanks Derek. Every little bit will help.
We started this ride with a simple city placement model and every step further has reduced our options. I see absolutely no reason to go from OOOh look a mana source to the current system where you end up sucking hind tit if you dont have a forest and a shard and a farm and 3 essence...needless complexity is needless. Just before essence there were MANY complaints about food/mats values being low. Now we have another value on top of that which di
I disagree with OP. I perfer to keep Essense. I never ctrl-n (I personally view this as a cheat so I never use it) and even with a bad postion I usally still have good games. I do thing that every square on the map with the exception of mountains and water should have the resources even if bad.
25 mana may be nothing in a long game, but it is a LOT in a small game. A quick tiny game can end in 200 turns.
Well I imbue every Champ but then I only play large maps which make for longer games. Personally I would change the imbune system to only imbune those Champs that take the Mage trait (forget the name now) or just get ride of imbune all togather and allow access to spells for champs to be based on ga
Derek can you explain why you guys did not seperate the Tech trees? What I mean is that there are some techs who's pereq's are from a different tree. Peronally I wish you guys would have either keeped them seperate (Ala. Endless Space) or just have one tech tree (ALA. many 4x games CIV for example.
Ultimate game. a real time strategy version of Civilization, with Stardock programed AI, Paradox's silmulator to run the economy, with Ironclad's game engine and graphics, and Total War's tactical battles. Then make it an enduring MMO world and make it all actually work on a normally powered computer with average bandwidth... but thats probably too much to ask
I l
>>If I'm reading you right, you want a 4x Fantasy game that has 1) no complexity and 2) no depth. See, this is where you guys have me completely wrong. I want complexity and depth, but a special kind of complexity and depth called "emergent complexity". I don't want there to be 100 spells; I want there to be less than 20 extremely rich and deep spells. Do you guys think the boardgame Go is like,
Point #2 is weird from someone who professes to want FE to be as good as MOM. FE has far less spells (and variety for those that exist) than MOM. i kinda agree with unit design. i never do it cos the diffs are minor. sure ship design worked for MOO , but MOO is quite different because you had to design ships and ship design makes a LOT of difference due to variety of technology and ship modules. With FE, unit design is just a matter of tw
All I have to say is that I'm glad your not the game designer on this game. First: I Disagree with you about AOW (AOW:SM so far is one of the 4x Fantasy games so far IMO. Better than MOM, 'an improvement actully.') Second: I would hate for there to be only a couple of spells to choose from (BORING.) Third: You really want to limit the number of monsters ........ Really. Talk about boring. If any thing they shouls add more creatures.<
Quoting Frogboy, reply 5 I am pleased to hear that you liked War of Magic. However, Fallen Enchantress is a different game. Different designer. Different development team (for the most part). I know this , but that mechanic of WoM just made sense, and had more atmosphere than the mechanics of FE right now. I am not unhappy with FE, quite the opp
Return to the roots Have Sovereigns be the only ones that can cast spells, remove all spells from Champions + henchmen, and re-introduce the Imbue spell again, with the penalty of sacrificing a shard, type of shard sacrificed determines spell ability of the champion. (Enchantment books must then be removed) Remove Pioneers!, have the Sovereign be the only one who can awaken the land enough for a city to be founded, at a variable mana
I agree with the OP. I really don't like the single build que.
Don't like this idea at all. It would just kill the exploration part of the game. Now a toggle put into the game to remove the fog is fine so that both sides can play the game they way they like.
Is that pic of a dungeon?
So a horse eats the basic amount of food that a merchant makes per season? I just made Mounted Warfare require Animal Hunsbandry and Drills. So it takes longer to get to and you have to use two tech trees. Then I raised the shop cost. Problem solved. They should really make me President.
Hate the crossing of tech trees.

But, the +2 movement and the +3 initiative, is pretty crazy. I also think the prone is kind of completely unnecessary. For 80 gold, how about +1 move, +10 carry capacity +1-2 initiative horses? While wargs get +1 move, +10 dodge and +1-2 initiative. Perhaphs receiving an additional +1 move an
I have no problem with the Horses as they are. My beef is with Worgs. They should be slower than horses not carry as much. But they should give an attack bonus and Init bonus.

Also it would be nice while scrolling throught the banners and crest if there would be something to indicate that it has already been taken by another faction
Would be nice if there was a list we can go to that will tell us what "world Buildings" have been built. Notifacations are fine but are easly missed if not paying attention.
Quoting NoobFukaire, reply 15 Or you could have done what smart people do and just use freetype. Man o man, this amazing Stardock technology is AMAZING! Do you know...what Freetype is right? It would not have solved the issue. You do know that we were using TrueType before via DirectX and we are still using TrueType now.
