Fellow councilors, please find below my votes, added to councilor Qrtxian's ballot: Research: Andimus Proposal (Prioritize research of Xeno Biology and Xeno Medicine) FOR: Noctilucus Qrtxian Proposal (Prioritize research of Universal Translator and Sensors I FOR: qrtxian Development and Colonization (All proposals are not mutually exclusive) Construction of Trade Centers on ou
So i'm basicly doing this to keep this thread alive for future votes. Right now i don't think this party has any specific vote that it needs to back, specially since Mater123wr seems to have taken an extended vacation and his party no longer seems to be proposing mad bills .
Nice wording :) I agree, nothing in particular we need to vote on as a party.
We can currently build Advanced Market Centers, not Trade Centers. That makes quite a bit of difference in the analysis. Some . . . staff members may have misspoken, so let's clear that up. AMCs give +12% econ, have 1bc maint, and will take 7-8 weeks to build if our new worlds focus social. I checked, and it would add 5bcs to spending, so that would mean 35-40 bcs to build.
Thanks for the clarificatio

A short comment on market/trade centers (imho too technical to clutter up the main thread with this): a trade center costs 90 SP; not 100% sure but I think this translates into a cost of 90 bc. With a bare planet and the social slider on 20%, it takes about 40 weeks to build a trade center. The trade center gives a 20% economic bonus. If our average base income of that planet (i.e. before applying building bonuses) the 40 weeks after building it is 10 bc, the trade center

Commander, thanks for sharing this excellent news on the high quality planets, finding that 1000 bc anomaly as well as that dark energy source. Based on the statistics we received in the quarterly report, is there another similar galactic resource that thus far has not been claimed? Good thinking on retrofitting the miner, such a tiny colony would have weighed heavily on our economy for a long time. I agree we need to consolidate our territories, even if it

I agree that the council should be more than just a number of voters (though I'm the first to admit that so far I didn't add a lot of new proposals to the ballots as they were already quite big) Tolmekian, for me it would be fine if you only added to the ballot the points where you actually want to hear our opinion. From what we've seen so far it looks like there's plenty of (sometimes conflicting :)) ideas being brought up by the council so don't feel ob

Gentlemen, my updated votes, i.e. including the votes on research. Since I seem to side with all my fellow councilors on research it will be an easy decision... Production ____________________________________________________________________________ -Gunray Plan (Product

One easy way to make the ballots more manageable would be to take out the "against" and only leave us to vote the items we are "for". I fully agree with LordCarlos that for storyline purposes and background it's normal to get a lot of information but indeed we shouldn't be voting on all of those items.

I hope you're feeling fine in the meantime qrtxian! Fellow Councilors, I have added my vote to the ballots. Two comments to explain my votes: For me the colonization of corridor worlds could be done as part of Commander Mekoides' colonization plan, in other words as part of the exploration. Regarding the development of ExTerra I am equally fine with building the Economic capital first, unless construction of the Navigation center has already been started and

Same here. Actually it's a good idea to change your approach to conquest once in a while if you're used to diplomatic victories, I feel it makes for a much more interesting, dynamic game (speaking from experience, since I too often went for a diplomatic or tech victory myself[e digicons]>_>[/e] )

Agree, I feel the directions proposed by the Commander and Dr. Malar are sound and our best path for the next few weeks. On the topic of colonizing planets in enemy territory, we should strike the right balance between expanding our borders and risking attrition (cultural flips) by having isolated planets too deep in enemy territory.

Building on Councilor NikolaiOmega's point, I would nuance his statement a little: from an economical point of view the development of a planet should only be undertaken once a sufficient population is reached. However in case of urgent need for additional production or research capacity, nothing keeps us from developing a planet as long as our economy can bear this additional cost. Thanks for bringing this up NikolaiOmega! I'm sure that comments like this will either teach u

Commander, Dr. Malar, fellow councilors, It would seem that most of the truly interesting planets are impaired by physical characteristics such as a barren surface, extreme gravity conditions or other phenomena that will require our colonists to adapt significantly before setting foot on any of these planets. Seeing that our surveys are close to hitting our current boundaries in several directions, it might be useful to coloniz

Glad we haven't done any weapons research yet or we'd have a firefight on our hands [e digicons]:P[/e] I hope people won't take this whole thing too seriously either, in the end the idea is to have fun deciding together how the game plays out...
Councilor TMS2224 - Your measure may be outdated by the time of the next ballot, as the next council session won't occur until after Commander Mekoides delivers the current report. However, if not I will make sure to add it. Looks like the council may be getting ahead of itself again - better hurry up with the next 12 turns!
A wise remark Councilor Qrtxian! Building war ships this early on would be wasteful. I would like to know that all members feel comfortable with the vote, so that i be sure i will have your support on the next elections if this proposal stands. Not to jump to conclusions, but we should carefully consider which civilizations we'll send the freighters to once we start building them. However for now it's colony ships time :)

While I am less than thrilled about this recent development and the creation of 2 sub-coalitions, the discussions have led to an agreement (not even requiring a compromise) so I am lending my vote to The Kushana Coalition for Prosperity. Not only because I feel that this is the right path for us to follow at this stage but also to bring balance to the equation, by having 2 councilors in each sub-coalition rather than 2 vs. 1 That being said, I am pleased to see that 2 of

For my fellow councillors who were thus far unable to assess the qualities of our homeworld up close: http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/2694/gc2takushanainitiative1.jpg I would agree that it makes sense to lower taxes to reach 76% approval (studies have shown that this is a crucial threshold, as of which our population is significantly happier and devotes more time to family life) or even 100% for

My opinion tends more towards Councilor Carlos' view; let's not forget that the 7 months are not fixed: as soon as we have additional labs built (a decision which is still pending approval if I recall correctly) this time will decrease through concurrent research efforts. I'm glad to see that you seem to agree that we should expand first, if I read your messages correctly. At this point we are surrounded by unclaimed planets and seeing the distance between us and our closest neighbour

Crippling is fine for me, as long as my fellow council members feel comfortable with it. For me it's still a stretch compared to the difficulty level below (painful) where I nearly always win.

Commander, as my fellow councilor Carlos already seemed to inquire, I would like to discuss our early expansion strategy, more importantly whether our initial stance would be peaceful or whether our nearby neighbours will likely force us into battle early on. As to Dr. Malar, I too would like to get better visibility on what this planet which will be our homeworld for the time to come, has to offer us. You spoke of more laboratories pending approval - to which I fully agree as
