Yes, the icons are dismal, but I'm all over it for free. I paid $35.00 for XP on my old core 2 quad and upgraded to 8 for $40.00, then got the free 8.1 upgrade. I'll take the free W10 upgrade with a smile, especially since it'll be replacing the least liked OS in the house. :) I'll be keeping my W7 machines at that level until W10 proves itself though. No point in fixing what ain't broke.

A little update: The CDT doesn't happen when I'm in full screen mode or windowed with the game set to the same resolution as my monitor. My monitor is set to 1920 x 1080. First, I'd like to say that the new UI is awesome! The game overall looks great, too. That said, there are some bugs and things that will make the game annoying in the future if they persist. Bugs first - - Crash to Desktop in the Ship Designer: If I look at an existing design and click on the first item on the list at the bottom of the screen, the picture of the ship goes blank. My wife and I saw it for the first time last night, largely due to nothing else being on and we had already gone through most of our DVRed stuff. I made the comment early that I love overacting as if it were a "B movie". It grew on us though and we enjoyed it by the time it was over. Nice. There's no telling what good can come out of this type of technology. I seem to recall MS trying to limit the Kinect's uses in the beginning when people were using it to create 3-D art. It's good that they appear to have backed down from that stance.
Hi seadart. The game is trying to run full screen at 1024 x 768 and your first display is at 1366 x 768. The resolutions should be equal if you're going to run full screen. You have a few options. You can set your screen resolution to 1024 x 768, change the game's display to windowed or change the game's resolution to match your display. I've found that it's easiest to run the game in windowed mode. I hope this helps.
