07 Jaguar S-Type and a 96 Lexus LS400. Most folks like the Jag, but after a few minor suspension mods, the Lex will run circles around it.

Wow Mumble! A 3 mil ZYW? Incredible! I used to be able to play a game out for 2 months or more too, but I've lost the patience. It's good to see that you were able to keep yours. Congrats! [e digicons][/e]
You can resize each piece when you build a custom ship, but on the galaxy map, each class of ship will be within a certain size range.
I played Pong and Tanks, but those were on a console. My first true home computer game would probably have been Manic Miner on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Back then, we had to load our games (and other programs) by cassette tape and it took anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes to load. If the load failed, you'd adjust the volume, rewind the tape and try again. Good times.
I get most of my e-books from Amazon. They keep them available in case you want to download them again. The Kindle with 3G makes it pretty easy. I also like to download free books. If you like science fiction, the Baen Free Library http://www.baen.com/library/defaulttitles.htm has a few decent books. The best free download I found was David Weber's Honor Harrington series at the 5th Imperiu
Mine was a TI-99-4A, but I only had it for a couple of weeks. Returned it to get a ZX Spectrum.
Sinclair ZX Spectrum with a staggering 48k of RAM, back in 1982 IIRC.
Yep. 1982. Still have it...
Someone was asking you to play metaverse games? That's a bit odd, since the metaverse's time as a high score list has come and gone. As a social tool, it's also no longer relevant. On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with playing a game and having it checked against the limits and rules set forth by the developers. That's pretty much the limit of the metaverse's usefulness in my opinion. If you want to make your own rules, m

I'm not sure what you're driving at. I stand by what I said. I donate time and/or money to the political parties that I choose to. I also donate time, money or endorsements to various activists if they suit me. For instance, I'm straight, but I support gay marriage. I support our rights to own and bear arms. If you think that's wrong, I don't care. The post I responded to was asking if it's right for others to donate t
I had some problems soon after Impulse's swap from Stardock to Gamestop. I couldn't even get GC2 to start. I found a rep at the Impulse Forums who goes by "BMonkey" to be very helpful in resolving problems with updating and such. Here's the link... http://forums.impulsedriven.com/ Perhaps you can PM him. He's sure to do whatever he can to help.
You did not thought about this very much, did you? Or are you strictly speaking in context of games?
I did not thought? Grammer aside, I was answering a post that you chose not to include in your quote. You're welcome.
Pick something you think is "bad". Lets assume there is a website dedicated to it. Is it ok for people to give money to that website? To visit it? To partake in its content? Or does that make them "bad" too? Is it different for a game that does something "bad" and the people who play it?
I'll give money to whomever I please. If it offends you, that's your problem. If I'm disturbed by your donations, that
There's a way - sort of. A sort of hot-seat game can be done according to Brad. I've never tried it though. Here's the post that mentions it. Item #5 in the op. https://forums.galciv2.com/102205
Nice game, Neilo! [e digicons][/e] I finished my "good" game too. It was basically a love fest from the start and dragged on later when the Drengin and Thalans didn't want to ally with me. I finally stopped trying and just wiped them out. Mine was only 3 years compared to your 5. I think I would have pulled some hair out if mine went to 5. <img src="http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/1959/game007.png" al
Not knowing anything about the technical changes of such a thing, I would definitely be interested in an iPad version of Gal Civ. In the meanwhile, my favorite iPad game is one that I used to play on a Mac years ago...Spaceward Ho! Not as in depth as MOO or GC2, but it's challenging and fun. Well, my Iconian game became a slog after the Korx war. My economy was so strong that nothing could touch my territory. I had given up on spending down to below the 20k mark and let my economy take the penalty. Even so, I had over a million gold when I downgraded my entire navy to unarmed hulls. Once I did that, the Thalans declared war on me. I upgraded my navy back to warships and went after the Thalans. My first attack on them took their hyperion log
Is the Jagged knife event pretty much assumed to happen in TA? Seems pretty common from the write-ups. I love Chainsaw's "robot ramblings"! [e digicons]XD[/e] @Neilo - The thought that a game could be lost is a relatively new concept, isn't it? We had taken for granted that we'd be the victors in any scenario for so long. The possibility of losing makes it a much more interesting ride. Good luck on your retake. L

Those Yor can be a pain as well, with their warp limit ability. They still have that in TA, right? I'm still playing DA and have only dabbled with TA a tiny bit. @ qrtxian - 15 years and counting! OMG! That sounds almost painful. Sounds like yours is wrapping up nicely, SCampb29. And yeah, the Yor are pretty cool. That's pretty cool to win by influence, particlewave. Without a decent military, it's not easy to keep the warhounds off of your back. [e digicons][/e] The lack of decent military applies to my current game. I'm playing Iconi
I think I can top these as far as pure evil goes. Mine goes back to the old days before the internet, where we'd play multiplayer games on BBS's. It was a space game called "Tradewars" where you had a certain amount of moves (1 move per tile on a grid) and then had to wait until the next day to continue. You'd normally have up to 200 moves, but if you died, you'd be limited to 50 so you could escape. I was aligned evil (of course) and was a member of
There was some discussion about something similar to this a little while back. A workaround was given here... https://forums.galciv2.com/413426/page/2/#3038673 I'm not sure of that's the same problem and I haven't experienced any problems like it as of yet, so I have no direct experience. Stardock will certainly help, but the workaround might be handy if you wind up waiting a while
Thanks, wbino. And +1 karma. [e digicons][/e] I loved the Wing Commander series way back when and even got the Freespace2 Open Source sequels. It's been a while though and I'm not familiar with the WC Saga. I'm looking forward to checking it out. [e digicons]:)[/e]

In my case, it's more like Raj and Howard circling each other in the Big Bang Theory, talking the big talk, but never landing a punch. I finally pulled the trigger toward the latter part of year 2 and even then, it wasn't exactly spectacular. It's more realistic than an all out slugfest though, and in many ways, mo
