you could try clans of sin , but I'm not sure they are completely up to date. but their information is fairly detailed and nicely visualised.

depending on what exactly is implemented (different governements, more economic options, spying or sth like that) I'd like the current diplomacy interface double as an intelligence report window. so, next to the information of treaties, 'like you' % and treaty options, we could have a little summary of what we currently know about that player, be it via scouts, shared vision or a possible spying (or some existing tech). I'm talking some very basic stuff like number of planets, number of capsh
hm, that could result in a new game: guess the wookie in the squad. solution: draw a religious caricature and wait who goes screaming in some awkward language and berzerk. that said, those things look pretty nasty, don't want to be their target. not that you'd see a good sniper anyway, but ...
as a matter of fact, I reacall a frasier say somewhere that they would not set a deadline and go more for the 'when it's done' approach, since entrenchment got pushed back a few times already. so, only expect a date quite some time after the official announcement of the title.
well, I always enjoyed blizzards strategy games, or their other stuff for that matter. maybe it's just personal taste. I never particularly like the age of empires or c&c style. I'm not sure, if or how much I should look forward to sc2. on the one hand, it is blizzard and they have been developing this game for a long time, so it must pretty much be perferc and balanced and all that. on the other hand, it just seems very conservative, too much like the original. I don't know if I'

I doubt it will really help them. the past has shown that when one site goes down, others take its place. as long as there is demand, there will be supply. and there will be demand with the media industry sticking to dying media a distribution models and people unwilling to give a compensation for the products they consume. not that all of the stuff would be worth it, but just not consuming az all is also an option. I just hope this will appease them for a time, because I really, tota

I'll say this first, I love sins and i've played it since way back in the beta, however sins doesn't really in any way play like a 4x, it's really an RTS with a few 4x trimmings. The first major thing thats missing is any way to really customize your empire. I have no real control ove

pirates should be reworked some. I think a big point is for them to get out when they are faced with overwhelming odds or at least jump to a less defended system. they are greedy pirates, not soldiers that fight to death.

Just a simple base stat increase would work, yes it has been done by other games, but it’s a very simple and effective way to make your armies who survive battles stronger. When "stacking" is turned on, it will stack ships in groups of 10, i.e. 10 lrm, 10 lrm, 10 hc, 10 hc, etc. My idea was that when you grabbed your ships and right clicked on a stack, they should attack ALL of the ships in the stack. Currently, they don't, so you have to turn stacking off and click each ship independently. What a tedio
@phazon88: ever tried Rise of Legends? that game has neutral locations and cities that could either be conquered, bought or acquired by trade. basically you build trade convoys that would visit those locations and every visit lowered the amount they demand for joining your empire. if it reaches zero, they automatically join you. a pretty nice system I think. I agree with the previous two responses. ion bolt not only disrupts channeling abilities, it also disrupts a phase phase loading which means you can gain quite some time for destroying the enemy, because you can shoot him during the ion bolt and then again when he charges up his drives, which also takes a little while. and yes, a buff to akkan colonisation is definately needed. iirc the lvl does not give any bonus whatsoever while the other races' colony capships even get a bonus at l

I did a lot of posts on diplomacy, so I'll just sum up a few things. 1) reasons of what races like or dislike each other. could be different religions, political or moral views, border disputes ("that planet should be ours!"), racial likes/ dislikes and more. obviously these then need to be followed up with appriate systems like governments, beliefs, etc., but I think those fit quite well into a diplomacy pack. 2) give reasons of why even permanent good relations are worth pur
nicely written, I'll be waiting for the rest. one small note: entrenchment is not quite about only fortifying, but also about breaking them. advent starfish and ogrov make short work of defenses, if you let them. but then, I don't think you meant defense-breaching content as much as material that makes combat in general more tactical, which is a good thing in general. just consider the level of attention you can give to combat with so many other things to do during a real time game. s
