[quote who="camroidv27" reply="3" id="2091983"]I'd love to see a Freespace mod for SoaSE. You have three races in that game, three races here, all three being somewhat similar to another. Though, it would be great if we could blend the two, where you could pilot a bomber or strike craft in SoaSE, or even one of the guns on a ship / turret. Don't think we can do that though with the tools we have. And yes, Freespace 2 runs in XP with the Sour

what vasari ogrov? the vasari don't have an anti structure ship and as far as I can tell never had. they use normal ships or - preferably - a starbase of their own. second weapons upgrade gives anti-structure attack and thus big boni and a tech gives them faster deployment+ upgrades in enemy wells.

Having detailed unit-type info available through a help menu or the like (or simply a dedicated unit reference, if there isn't much else to document) would be nifty. [/

well, for one, I'd like the ai keep its thougnness even, if I am declared winner, but want to continue. I mean I'm not sure I ever will do that, but fighting on against an enemy that stops building stuff and leaves everything on autocommand? what's the use of that? the other thing: I heard some comments about the ai surrendering too early, i.e. when its fleet was still intact and it had several planets under its control. assuming the ai routines are not faulty and it really does see i

new ships would be good, but only if they do something new. as is, I'd say we have a good distribution of roles in the armada, so I'm not sure what could be added. maybe something like a stealth ship, a sort of submarine in space. or a planet conquering frigate. or a really close-up combat ship that can deal lots of dmg, but has to reach its target first. someone said flamethrower, so with a different concept I could imagine that. well, it would seem to me that the longer it takes, the more of a disadvantage you are, because if you want to match fleet size, you will have to go into higher fleet research. it would mean that eventually they would just outproduce you. then, two players can be at more places at the same time, do more micro, etc. I'd probably suck too much to stand a chance in such a situation, but what I would at least try to do is fortify against one player as much as possible and try to take out the othe

wow, cool. thanks for the effort, nice read, the reward is for all three of those, since I have to give it somewhere. also nice to hear that a manual will apparantly be coming at some point in the future.
research 'raloz prototyp' for tec, 'savior design' for advent or 'starbase deployment' for vasari. starbases are then constructed by specialised ships, the raloz heavy constructor for tec, talion savior for advent (both new, specialised SB building ships) and the migrator (colony ship) for vasari. these ships have an ability with a resource cost that allows you to construct a starbase anywhere you want. so, in short: you don't build it from the planet menu like the other structures, b
you dug up an old thread. all posts concerned beta 1 where SB range was far shorter and we did not yet have the phase destabelisation function in. to counter strike craft, either build hangars at the planet or hangar upgrades for the SB. alternatively station some ships near it. with the rest, I agree.

ok, now it's getting really weid. I DID the uninstall/ reinstall. also deleted every file and item I could find. for sure.
