It's too bad the Akkan doesn't get any bonuses for colonization at the first level like the other two colonizer ships. Maybe they should make it 1/2/3 free extracters instead of 0/1/2. There might be a problem if the planet does not have 3 resource asteroids (something the programmers would have to deal with)...but at least it would make the Akkan more comparable to the Jarrasul and the Progenitor when it comes to the colonize ability.

No doubt. It always seemed like WB treated B5 as a bastard stepchild it liked to slap around. 1) yippie! imo bab5 was the best sci fi series ever, maybe even the best sci fi materiel on screen, so I'd be more than happy to see more of it, if it keeps the same quality. 2) well, the story is basically told, so ... what could you possibly do? plus, the series relied on continuity, gradual building of tensions, character development. a lot of it I just don't see possible in a movie. I' ready to be surprised, I have the dvd sets and read some on fan forums and JMS seems like a very

ugh, was it not already quasi confirmed? I read blair saying last week that 'a patch won't be coming this week, but early next week' or sth like. and also saw something of patchnotes or buildes or sth sent to SD. besides, it's digital retail, they could probably still tweak little things until close to release.

while we're at it (sorry for threadjacking): since when does development mandate only have 1 level? was quite surprised the other day, though I think it's a good change, since the two levels really were quite powerful indeed. @ topic: don't beat yourself up about it. some boni are really just strange, like the xtra well together with the minus well size and the like. it may just be one of those combinations that end up being pointless. though penal colonies does have another effect, n
I don't think the flak turrets are absolutely necessary. maybe a nice addition, but I'd not have it too drastic, maybe half of what tec hangars get. aside from that: 1) small fleet of carriers is relative. I mean, if your starbase is maxed out on hangars, then you have 14 squads (or 20 for advent). you'd probably want to staff them with fighters, because defensively they are just better at killing whatever threats the starbase cannot kill itself. so, let's say you have 14 figh

something recognisable in the ICO lobby? maybe a little crown or sth next to the name? or a different colour for the name? hope that won't lead to bragging and stuff, but gameplay changes are pretty much out of the question and the name can be changed anyway. ... unless, you could of course do sth like in diablo II where you got titles for your char when you finish the game on skill levels. sort of like getting a 'General' or 'Fleet Admiral' in your title. hm, well I heard that the ne

great ideas everyone, thanks for your input so far.
I just used it for fun on my own fleet, because I had won the game and the enemy had not attacked and noticed two things: 1) my capships got experience from me destroying nothing by my own ships via the starbase. seems strange. if it's not too much effort, I'd want that changed. somehow seems wrong. in a way, you could ... well, ok, no, that would be too stupid and crazy. 2) uh, the infocard to the ability says 'cooldown 60 seconds'. err, am I missing something or is a cooldow
Is it me or sucide starbases are kind of defeatist? I wish TEC had another tech for their bases. Going down to the last bullet is better than mass suicide. But thats just me. Depends on how you use it -- if you use it at 100% HP, that's ridiculous. aesthetics wise, I'd go for the advent capital carrier. it just looks so sleak and the side beam weapons just look awesome. gameplay wise, I'll be totally creative and go for the egg. it can colonise, has a nasty direct attack ability, can stop fleeing enemies from jumping to phase space and the utlimate helps attacking planets, which means less need for the horrible siege ships. though of course, most, if not all, capships have their advantages and disadvantages.

it's a minor point, really, but some players might enjoy a few new achievements themed around the expansion content. examples like: starbase killer: destroy at least 20 enemy starbases mining: deploy at least 2000 mines paranoiac: destroy at least 1000 mines/ build 100 scouts planet bound: win a game without constructing a single starbase starbase entrepreneur: earn at least 10.000 credits from starbase income. maybe there's more,

well, someone else pointed out an important issue when it comes to leveling starbases: decision of whether the starbase gets fighting experience or not rests with the enemy. if he doesn't attack, your sb won't get experience and you can't do anything about it. in fact, with the multi firing banks, even your control over what your sb should attack is fairly limited. also you can't run to save an experienced unit, so I'm not so sure of how often the situation occurs that you even have sb with e
