Isn't there also a difference in how you're charged for the increase in production due to power plants?
If there is, I'm not aware of it. Now you do have to take into account that the +% from the power plant only applies to base production. I dont think it stacks with capitals and asteroids and stuff, so that might make the calculations a little different.

I actually like the idea behind #2. In fact, precursor tiles for manufacturing and research would make sense to be on a tile needing to be terraformed. Sort of like discovering something useful from the old ruins located in a swamp on the planet or something.

Exactly, power plants aren't much to look at until you mathmatically get more from the percentage boost than you do another factory. So on your BIG industrial planets with 10+ factories, power planets become more feasible.

You can, yes. Thats basically the "All-Factory" strategy. In a nutshell it allows for a lot of production, but little research. You can also do all labs, and put slider at 100 research, but that takes a little more skill as it gets REALLY expensive to maintain and balance

Why? Its just as easy to get through the link. You can order it as a digital download only, or with the box +S/H

Military slider is for ANYTHING built at a starport, be it a constructor, colony ship, or weapons vessel. If your slider is at zero, ignoring "Focus", you will never build a ship. Social slider is for anything being built on your planets and in the build queue. If at zero, ignoring focus, you'll never build a building. Research slider is for funding of your labs which translates to beakers, making you research your current tech faster. If set at zero, you guessed it, ignor

You need a good Hi-Res picture of you flipping off the camera with your "Hwooge Mittel Fangar" (Said in the accent of Mike Myers from So I Married an Axe Murderer) Save the photo and sent it to your competition when you outsell them in the gaming market. Or just send it in random emails to your friends...

So from the original description, the path is to eventually conquer the planet, correct? So if you have a choice of being a herbivore or a carnivore, whats the advantage to NOT being the one that can eat you? Are there different victory conditions like GC?

If you are the Yor playing on tough, I would try something a little simplier first. Reasearch Xeno Ethics, pick evil. Research through the beam weapon techs up to (I think) phasors, and then you can research Psyonic Beams. Build a few ships with 1 or 2 beams on it. Get medium hulls if you can. Add engines or defenses if you want. At that difficulty, I really think thats all you'll need. Even at the slower techs, you should be able to build those ships within the first year
pndrev reply: Looking at the Terran history of discovering and 'civilisation' of new continents, I seriously doubt we would avoid killing population. My reply: but this is the 23rd centuray, not Nazy Germany. If the terrans did that are own people would protest and be piss off.
Why would the 23rd century matter? Humans/Terrans have done it for 20+ centuries, why would a few more change that?

Not that I'm aware of. With Starbases, you can get your speed up really high, and I know in DL where engines were cheaper you can get over 100

I will admit that I like the OP's System for naming a Terran Destroyer. TerDD's rock! ;p If I was the pilot I might have to boycott flying in a TerDD.
Why doesn't someone lock this thread? It's just as bad as the other one, and the issue could have, and should have, been handled with a pm to the Moderators
That would be a violation of my rights per the 18th Amendment. :HOT: And if you know what the 18th Amendment is, then you should have no problem with the 21st Amendment. If you have no idea what either Amendment is, AND you are an American, go look them up. They deal strictly with "Internet

So to stay on topic. Is someone actually advocating banning ALL video games, or just "R" rated games, in general? I can't possibly imagine banning something as general as a "video game". After all, soccer moms across the country would be up in arms! Who would babysit their children for them if Mario couldn't do it?? You don't expect THEM to do it, do you?? Thats a very slippery slope. If they had to watch their own kids, then sales of new SUV's would slip due to less driving needs
