to any Tyrants that don't have dual membership in the Olympian Gods...you're missing out on some super secret strategies that I know about and have never come across in any forums so far. Guess you'll just need to send an extra character over so you can learn these secrets of the universe.
I still don't have access and I've had a character there all along :CONGRAT:

I think terraforming III is an unrealistic tech! Stan: Hey, Bob, check this $%#! out. I did some research and I figured out a way to make terraforming EVEN BETTER!! Bob: Fo' real? Stopping lying... Stan: No seriously. We are going to build something called an "orbital terraformer". It will be a galactic achievement! BoB: What the hell does an "orbital terraformer" do?? Stan: Well, we'll build it here on Earth, and all of our colonizes hundred

Have you tried giving them some of those economically crappy planets in return for peace? ;p Then go for your tech victory. Otherwise, don't destroy the colonies, just destroy the structures on them that are causing you to go negative. Hell, destroy all of thestructures except economic structures like banks and morale structures like zero G stadiums. Those planets will go positive once the population is high enough

Do you want constructive criticism based on what I see already? Really its mostly just grammar. Lords of Steel. You are using the word "there" when you need to use "They are" or "they're". Then you use it AGAIN when you should use "who made their kind slaves" One suggestion might be to change "Lords of Steel" to something incorporating Bender's use of the phrase Shiny Metal Ass. Perhaps a play on words from the old videocassettes "Buns of Steel"...like Shiny Medal Asses of

Set your tech speed to a higher level if you find yourself clicking turn too much. Or set stars/planets to a more abundant level so there are more planets etc. to work with. And turn your production slider to 100% if it isnt already ;p

Well, I would also say it depends on what tiles get and what race you are, but lets say you get a manufacture tile and are the Thalans. Sliders 100% production 50 military 50 research 0 social. Rush buy factory for 2 turns, start a manufacturing capital. Taxes at 100% approval for as long as possible. Usually I'll rush buy the first colony ship, upgrade the space miner to a colony ship, giving you 3 colony ships in the first 2 turns. After that it al
I just wanted to stop by and add the mandatory post since I see no one else had the time to do it yet. So here it is:Turn off mega-events.There, it is said. Reply 4 & 5 didn't have that stated?
Ah, indeed they did. Normally it is done by reply #3, which is about how far I actually read. My fault. Well, in any case it can never be said enough anyhow! Especially on this topic, and its previous 12 incarnations...

Makes it harder on your econ since you cant sell techs, and makes it a little tougher to develop planets since you can't trade for other races techs, like factories or labs, etc.

OK, I found the post, its under the modding section and its called "Creating Custom Planets in GalCiv 2". If you go to the 3rd page, reply 60, someone asked how you mod extreme environments. In the reply 61 by Kryo, he hotlinked a thread to answer it. So one problem, when you click on it, it no longer works. See if you can get him to link to that page again :p

Ok, so at least you found the numbers. I think there was some other factor you had to add or change on another line to allow the game to recognize them as extreme environments. Otherwise it does what you just said, it ignores the tag. I couldnt find that thread using the search function at all, so your best bet is probably to keep trying, or to wait until someone smarter than me comes along and answers it for you (:(
Lastly a question- As this is my first "turn based" game, what exactly is a "turn" referring to in regards to what should be done/ how long should it be ? Should i wait for the "turn" light to come or whatever? Do i just press it whenever i can`t find anything left to do?
Its always "on" to be pushed, once your computer processes the previous turn. The turn just means when you have done everything you can or want to do (like move your

No, I will look into it a little more, but there I THINK there is a numeric value on the planet code that you have to add to make it an extreme environment. Someone asked a similar question to this about a month ago, lemme see if I can find it.

I just meant could it be BUILT twice, or is it a 1 time thing, like diplo translators. I know you can't trade the MCC. I was curious if you could capture one "in progress" and actually build 2.

26 Replies 30,173 Views

OOOhhh, actually I never thought of that. Is the MCC stackable like econ/tech capitals? If you gift Concepts of Malice to the AI and you both start building it, then you capture the planet they are building it on, do you get the benefit twice? Or is it more like a trade good, once it built somewhere the others have to stop?

26 Replies 30,173 Views

I've seen this in the last 2 or 3 games I've played, and while it never seems to make a difference in the overall outcome, it seems to be happening more and more often. The AI will sneak a troop transport in, and standard battle will commence, no big deal. They usually ship in 1000 troops VS whatever my planet population is. What is strange is that RIGHT after that, they will invade again with zero troops and actually succeed in killing another few hundred of my po

Look at your expenses screen and tell us what is eating up your income? Is it too many colonies? Leases? Ship maintanence? Research costs? Galactic-wide government funded subscription for all citizens to Maxim? I know that depending on your morale bonuses, 35% tax rate is kinda low. What is your approval rating? Are you trying to keep 100% approval? What are your sources of incomes? Taxes? Treaties? Tourism? Blackmail? Knowing WHAT is causing you to be in t
