Indeed, in fast wins, that extra production from focus can help you build that 1 or 2 more ships you need to clear out an AI defender or kill a scout ship so your transport can land after your more than 500 in debt
Admittedly, that game has gone on for some time
Looks like the year at that point in your game was 2234. Indeed, it is impressive any minor race lived that long. If they arent dead by the first 1 or 2, I usually do it myself for a juicy Class 15 planet

No, you dont have to design ships. I typically use the NON-combat ships that are default (constructor, colony, miner). But warships/transports I would recommend designing your own when you get better weapons and defense. The default ships dont always have corresponding armor to what the AI's weapons are. Same for defense. Or engines... I hate the customizing also, so if you dont care what the ship looks like I simply click a hull, then double click whatever engine/weapon/armo

well my crappy scores Ive got so far don't seem so bad with others having the same problems. Just another reason I like playing the MVL games. Random settings I would never pick myself, makes it interesting )

I still think its at least influenced by playstyle. Thinking of some of the other events, the one that stands out to me are the trade revenue increase and the one where a race changes ethical alignment. Can anyone else recall when the mega event that increases your trade by a factor of ten hit them? I can tell you that I have NEVER seen it happen if I have no trade routes in or out of my civ. If I leave the UP, or am at war with everyone, I never see this one. So I would guess
The way to avoid this mega-event is to not stockpile more than 4-5 spies at a time. Can we get some confirmation or correction here from folks who've had the spy-sprawl numerous times? I buy the theory that game state influences timing and choice of mega events, but I routinely keep 9-12 spies in the bank and I don't see this event very often.
Well since I've never had more than 2 spies at once (ever), and I've had this event a few times, its defin
Hello there... I've been playing Korath for the last few games, on medium size and crippling difficulty. I love the spore ships, but I get an econ crash every game. I start the spore rollout, take a few planets, and bang! My econ goes down the tube. I end up cutting production and creating loads of colony ships (I haven't researched inavasion so I don't have troops) and ferry pop from existing worlds to try to get balanced again. I'm thinking I need to take troop ships w

Thats a good point. At this time in the beta I would imagine the scores are so much lower because of the higher maintenance cost of your navy, making military score lower, as well as that maintenance cost making your econ score lower.

I reloaded and saw that I did it on turn 9 so it must still be the "12 turn" rule. I actually went back and reloaded it and stretched it out to 22 turns and resubmitted it. Interesting fact: It lowered my score stretching the game like that, but removed the cheat flag, so thats kinda cool.

Ok, thanks for the prompt answer, I was just curious as to why it flagged them. Apparently, after playing a few in a row like that, I must of got more efficient and finished under that 12 turn minimum.

Overall games, yes I do have more than 5. But the LAST 5 or 6, you'll see I played all Korath for spores and did tiny galaxies. Well, the first 4 were not red flagged but the last 2 were. Its weird. But I'm not worried about those, I am simply curious why the last one, actually the last 2 now, are being flagged as cheats. I didnt change anything I know of, so I was wondering if the speed of the game had a minimum, sorta like you can't get a diplo win in under a year. EDIT:

After reading some posts in the MVL threads, I thought I would try a few games, and I noticed on the last one I posted it detected a cheat and gave me a red flag. I played all 5 games the exact same way. Is there some "minimum time limit" you have to play or it thinks its a cheat? The game lasted less than 5 minutes, so thats the only reason I can figure it would red flag it. Otherwise it was totally identical to the 4 previous games posted which weren't flagged as che
Another thing I've noticed in all of my games with the Arceans is that coalitions tend to form against them. This may or may not be unique but I almost never experienced it playing Terrans. In my experience, it is inevitable that all or nearly all of the other races will declare war against the Arceans. This shuts down trade, a primary source of income and often cripples their economy (again) at that point.
I would imagine part of the coalition problem you are s

Not sure if its my mouse or this new forum but my wheel only partially works. If I actively rotate the mouse wheel up and down, the screen will scroll up and down accordingly. But on those really long pages where I like to "click" the mouse wheel to get that little up and down arrow thing that makes it move faster, well that doesn't work on this website anymore. Anyone else having this problem?

I would love to see the numbers for your research and manufacturing if you constructed as many economic SBs as you could to include both planets at once. Since they are right next to one another, you would get the research bonuses on the one, and the factory bonuses on the other. I think I drooled a little...
