On the movement issue, isn't there a option to recieve a prompt when ships have movements left at the end of a turn? Or not allowing you to end the turn if something has movement points left? I'm pretty sure there is.

I usually wait to find extreme planets worth colonizing before researching anything. If I see 2 or more planets with a decent PQ, usually 8 or higher, I will spend the time to research the basic techs just to colonize the world. I won't usually build anything unless I have cash reserves, I'll just let the population grow until I can research the advanced tech for 100% production. If its a PQ 18 or higher, I'll go out of my way to get the advanced tech.

I will give a "hats off" to any of you who go through that much effort naming your ships. I can see the fun in it from a RP perspective, but mine tend to be even more involved than that. Since I focus on 1 or 2 enemies at a time, I usually look to see what weapons and defenses they have on the ships, and I will make a design to destroy them. So, if I'm fighting the Korx, the ship might be named "Korx Killer", or something REALLY clever like that. If I'm fighting the Terrans, I migh

How much does morale suffer if you go that route at the expense of any of techs? Do you have to drop the tax rate significantly to keep them happier at that early of a stage? And do the KoRath start with a negative pop. growth bonus like the Drath and the Thalans? That might be why they get so many bonuses.

I am only a post whore during the week. On the weekends, I dont even get on a computer. I had a sneaky suspicion I wouldnt get #666, I wasnt too worried about it :p I'm only "quasi-evil" anyhow...just give me sharks with freakin' laser beams attached to their heads. I also had thought about having constructors be like frieghters. You establish a "route" with a contructor to whereever you wish it to go and then it ferries back and forth depending on its speed and can add modules over and over. Perhaps the planet would still have to use its military spending to produce the raw materials needed for the constructor ferry, so you would have to choose whether or not you want that starport tied up making modules or other ships. That would rock...

Well, you can always research the morale techs, and there are also some trade goods you can build such as harmony crystals that increase galaxywide morale. Another good way is researching the government techs and building a political capital. It gives a +50% morale boost to whatever planet it is on.

I would also recommend at least the government techs. They give you production and econ boosts you'll need for the game. No reason you can't be a republic/democracy/federation and still be focused on eradication of others. It would simply mean your general populace is also focused on eradicating others, always a good thing!

I would have thought Piz might have raced to the 666 by now....he is known to do these things quickly....or so say his ex's anyway.....KAPOW!!! She kept saying something about size is the important thing anyhow and that there wasn't a problem in that department <img src="http://

That all flew right over my head, but thats ok... I'll just make fun of Neilo on this thread instead. Thats a great picture of that eye, by the way. I might have to take pictures of that if it walked into my office!

You can only change the Super Ability, HomeStar, pictures, names, and only use whatever starting points the race you are customizing started with. You can edit the ship type they use and the ethical alignment from 0 to 100 without tripping the flag, also. You cant change the starting techs, thats a no-no. If you are editting a canned race, like the Yor, you can still change their super ability, homestar, etc. But you have to start a game and allocate your points, and select your poli
Edit: Yes we can all click the no mega event option when setting up a game. I have a valid question to that response. Why did the devs even bother to make the rest of the mega events?
Because if all the mega-events simply made it EASIER for you to win your game, why would you ever decide to turn them OFF. The point of the events is to scramble things up. The reason they allow you to turn them off is for the people who can't deal with the negative events. Wantin
