Yeah, hows this for having to upgrade. Original Computer for my office had XP and Quickbooks 2K6. Melt the motherboard, say screw it and decide to "upgrade". Buy a new computer that ONLY comes with Vista, no choice. Should have just not bought it. Roughly 750 bucks Try to install Quickbooks 2K6...not compatible, only QB 2K7 works with Vista. Buy Quickbooks 2K7 (200 bucks), install...not enough RAM. Need at less 2 gig, only had 1. Buy TWO extra sticks of R

Alchohol powers my fuel cells... I use that one in real life, too
You cant hit a Orbital Fleet Manager, either IIRC.
For the Futurama fan dystopic... My favorite quote ever, as Bender and Fry are denied their 5 percent military discount on a pack of gum because they are, in fact, not in the military: Bender: "Thats the worst kind of discrimination! Discrimination against Bender!" Followed closely by anything uttered by Zap Branigan: "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy, and weak." "Thats not a course for a starship, lets fly through this asteroid field.
Form a lynch mob, the non submittal penalty must be hung! I dont really care for it either. On to another subject. Quote from above, "copy and paste"-style, because Ive no clue how to put it in the pretty grey box: If the only point is participation then give everyone 2 points for win, lose or draw and all rounds end up in a complete tie. Where is the motivation to improve in this scenario? I agree that both score and speed are imperfect measures of peoples skill level in the
OK, so I been playing sandboxes the whole time. I like sandboxes, I didnt want to miss out on the fun
Not on that computer, no mods. Should I run a debug, or take a screenshot? I can post it, its very strange.
There's an ethically event where you find a native population, and if you pick the good choice, you can only go to the polar ice caps and it stunts your production or pop cap I think. It you go evil on their butts I think you enslave them and get a production or starship bonus.
Off topic question, but what are these "sandbox" games everyone mentions? Is that just the Normal setting instead of something like Battle of the Gods or whatnot? Or is it in DL, because I can never find anything that says sandbox. I'm jealous, I like sandboxes and want to play in one.
I upgraded one of my older computers, and it didn't have the latest version of DA, but when I went to Stardock Central, I must have accidentally loaded some additional patch, maybe the German thing? About half the planet names are in some other language, and in all lower case letters, its very annoying. Earth is labeled as "Paramount" I think. The Wardell system, for example, has planet names like "tenua" or "lilnutte", with umlauts over all the vowels. How would one uninstall that?
So, whats the final verdict on how metaverse is scored? I read the pinned message but that doesnt seem to make sense because of the whole huge denominator thing. I posted a victory, but because I was lazy and wanted to finish, I just made it a diplomatic victory. It brought my metaverse score down, is it supposed to work that way? I hate to think that I have to get a military victory everytime, because otherwise it lowers my score...
Or simply incorporate higher tech developments into the storyline, like Empire Earth, etc. The early campaigns you can only research/build/upgrade X number of units, as the campaign progresses, you unlock more and more.
Only concern I have is that giving points to the highest score AND the highest team score will, in MOST cases, be the same team. So its almost just a double bonus. The team with the highest average score will *most* likely be the team with the player with the highest overall score. With only 4 to 5 players per team, it will end up that way the majority of the time. If this league was meant to shy away from just maxxing out points like the metaverse, then having that much emphasis on bonus po
I did see that post, which makes me laugh because I could never do that. The one game I mentioned I started above crippling, which was Maso, not obscene, like you said, I just got my @$$ handed to me on a Altarian platter. But it was fun nonetheless!
On that note then, when I first started I had 2 or 3 games flagged as cheats because I made a custom race and when they were my opponents it tripped a flag for something or another I dont know what. Is it possible to just remove those games from the metaverse so they dont count as zeroes? Pretty please with an Altarian on top?
Just a quick post to hopefully encourage those who read this. I am by no means an expert at this game but I do love playing it, and do so quite a bit as I get free time. Lately, I have decided to really up the level of difficulty. Now if you look at my metaverse scoring (please dont), you will notice there are no losses posted. That's just my pride showing through, I'm not that good. But anyhow, I normally played at challenging, sometimes tough, and really enjoyed doing so. I dec
I would say no penalty, especially since he hasnt been around since before this round even began
Water would be punishment, he would have to stop drinking beer
It could probably look like something similar to your colony screen, where it has a list of the planets on the left, with structures, etc on the right
112k on a small. Fantastic score, congrats
I like the industrial sector
Few tips. Dont expand too fast. Each world you colonize is a drain. Grab too many and you have troubles. Also, economic centers dont help much on new planets with low population. You dont have to immediately build on new planets. That just makes it worse in maintanance fees. Watch your mil/soc/research sliders. If you ARE building, lets just say factories, for example, and you have 80 percent on military spending, its gonna make your costs go up. Building labs and factories, e
