Starship Troopers (the movie) was pretty close to Starcraft. The weaponry and personal armor of the marines, the battleships and other spaceships resembled a lot of the game, and the bugs were much like the zerg. Throw in some Protoss and a bit more storyline and viola! Protoss were always my favorite anyhow

I thought I would join up and show you guys how to be seriously evil, as per my last posted win for metaverse league round 2. As I was completing my conquest, though, I was disappointed at even the Yor's concept of evil. Gonna have to play more custom races to express evil in its highest form. I think this will be my next attempt at sheer evil: <img src="http://www.imagehosting.com/out.php/t1051628_hip

Map editor, about time. Thats one thing I always liked about Starcraft or Empire Earth was making my own map etc. I wonder how detailed it will be, like being able to designate what planet class each planet is, or what bonus tiles it will have, or more than 5 planets per star...

Military score is boosted by having military ships across the whole game, the earlier the better. So building military starbases early with a few ships parked under them, and continuing to upgrade the bases and add to the number of ships while upgrading older ones will make a difference in your score. Doing it all at the end and waiting 10 or even 20 turns wont help much, if at all. I havent done any hard testing of this, but I have also noticed that the number of ships seems to matte

Submitting my win for the A-Team Character: ArcLightning Score: 12250 Years: 4 Military Victory Submission Date: 8/21/07 7:00:12 PM No way I'll get high score, so I'll keep cranking out fast wins like the first round!

An all econ strat sounds more like something that would evolve in the mid to late game. Without building something to increase output, either labs or factories, it seems it would take forever to even build your banks etc. Now what I have done that works very well is evolve to all econ buildings by late game. Works great with Thalans, too. You build factories, which help you build econ buildings and allow you to research just enough to get by. As you need less and les

Does playing in Fullscreen mode VS. Windowed mode affect memory usage and gameplay? I have always got the occasional graphic driver problem and it will boot the game to the taskbar and I simply have to reopen it ( takes about 3 secs ), but since playing in windowed mode it happens ALL the time. Anyone else have this problem?

Its at the galactic core. www.thegalacticcore.com Under forums, go to metaverse leagues (A,B,C,D), we are of course A, and I will see if I can figure out how to PM the password to you.

I wonder how much the backstory really plays into conflicts, also. I have seen the Torians and the Drengin be on great relations, though never allied. I have also seen the Drath and the Altarians as well as the Yor and the Iconians play nice. It seems there should be a discount to get those races with background hatred to war against one another. It is funny to read the opening line when you play as the Drath when he mentions if we run into our Altarian neighbors we will welcom

In the year 2224 there was a great galactic explosion that encompassed the entire known realms that wiped out all the planets labelled 6th or higher. It was the damnedest thing I ever saw, I wouldnt have believed it if I didnt see it with my own eyes. Anyhow, all those destroyed planets are where asteroids come from.

Newsflash! iEmpire is getting severe backlash from citizens today after the latest technological wonder hit stores. One source is quoted as saying: "Its like millions of people suddenly woke up and realized that iEmpire is selling inferior, second-rate products dolled up to look really fancy, but really aren't worth the price you pay for it. Its as though they just want my money...I feel so used and dirty." In other realted news, Rear Admiral Steve Jobs VII is still MIA f

The iEmpire would have a hard time completing their conquest, though, due to the sudden crashes of all hardware and hours spent with customer service reps or exchanging and repair of assets. The entire economy would tank due to the fact that 5 star admirals and the uber-techno geeks would be battling it out to see who could get in line first to buy the latest large hulled starship (with email capacity). Afterwards, the military would get wiped out in no time flat because they were too busy sho

In response to the negative scoring questions: I have heard people mention not adding more insult to people who already might feel bad enough about the score they gave, which I can agree with, but I also agree we need something to discourage loooong games for high score or non-submittals. One thing we could do if we remove negative point modifiers is consider making up more ways to just earn bonus points. As it is, we only have fastest game played ( big pat on my back for round 1,

Question: Does "7 opponents on small map" mean no minors? Or do minors fall under "everything else is up to you"?

He did actually, but it doesnt really matter, he just was curious as to how it was done. EDIT: I stand corrected, he actually asked to do that Aug 9th, and you posted score on July 30th. Anyhow, I dont think he meant anything by it.

So, just out of curiousity, does anyone else bother with fertility clinics besides me? I love building these things, they go up usually in a turn or 2, and I really like building multiple clinics on conquered planets. Sometimes I will drop 4 or 5 on a large world and then deconstruct them and add banks or something else. Ive never heard much discussion about them on the boards, and have never done deeper research on them like I have seen others break down numbers on the boards. So
