Another small tidbit thats not super important but does help when learning. Try to keep your planets around the same population cap as all the others. That way when you adjust your tax rate, it changes morale on all planets by almost the same amount. If you have one planet with 20 billion people with a 55 percent approval, and 15 planets with 6 billion people and 90 percent approval, your rating might be say, 80 percent. Now you bump your taxes up and your rating is at 70 percent, but your m

Not only are there 26 letters, there is a wide array of things such as commas, periods, and question marks to name a few. If you lump those together, it forms what the layman would call "punctuation". When used correctly, its almost as fun as 26 letter alphabets!

Micro repair bots also do the trick. As for the healing more hp than max, Ive noticed it as well. My small hulled ships will get 11/10 hp or a medium hull with 24/23.

Possibly the xianthium hull plating works slightly different since the ships already have the HP. Blocking the building might stop NEW ships from getting hp, but not ones already built. Whereas the diplo translators effect each diplomatic encounter as they occur. Or maybe theres just a random difference in what the AI will offer for techs when you trade. And there is a difference between trade goods and a super project, correct? A trade good you can lose, and buy and trade etc. but

You can check your foreign relations tab, hit treaties, then pick the race you want. To the right it will tell you THEIR relations with the other races. If its higher than neutral you usually cant even select that race to start a war. Also, they could be allied, or possibly have not met one another.

Super Spy ability of the Krynn is definitely not the best ability to me, but it is pretty sweet. Counter espionage centers add morale boost as well, but are fairly expensive, and starting with one spy, while not a lot, can gather intel fairly quick when you drop it on the first civ you encounter, especially if they dont research and nullify it.

I was also under that assumption. I know I did some tech trading and recorded the numbers. Then reloaded, dropped a spy on the diplo translators that the AI had built, and it made a difference, also.

If you add the upgrade to a military starbase that increases the defenses (gun, missile, beam) to your starfighters by +1, +2 etc., do they have to have that defense built on the ship to begin with? Meaning if you have a fighter with NO defense, the upgrade module is worthless? Im thinking the answer is yes, but I wanted to confirm it, when I try it in the game I never see the bonus added to the defense, but when I upgrade weapons I always see it, even if they dont have that type.

But that sounds super awesome. If they even implemented half that stuff it would be so much better. I definitely like the "degrade relations" idea. The Drath should have a bonus in that department as a super manipulator. I also would like to see that you could catch spies and figure out who they work for, based on their racial loyalty and your "techniques". Then decide what to do with them, eliminate them, bribe them, etc.

There was an unofficial tourney where people submitted scores and the Krynn finished #1. They allow you to get the highest morale bonus possible meaning higher taxes, more money. Neutrality rocks. Thats the 3 reasons I can think of off the top of my head, but I wouldnt call any race "the best". I beat up the Krynn all the time!

Soooo....been playing the game just fine, never had a problem until just now. Not sure if Smart exception will help because I dont think its a game bug. I have a widescreen, and this last game it completely crashed out of GalCiv, and gave me a little window that simply said "Invalid call" and the only option was to click "OK". When I restarted the game, it had "stretched" the resolution, everything was grainy and I also noticed the mouse icon went back to the default ( I usual

The line the Iconians give me sometimes is funny also. They will come to me and whine how the war vs. anyone is going badly and they wont last very long. I give them 100 BC and they give me the line about happy hampsters dancing in my name. No wonder the Iconians suck...

I dont know if its considered "stupid" so much as it was funny, but I once played a game as the Drath, and my opponents were the Altarians, Iconians, Torians, Terrans, and the Korx. I paid the Korx to attack the Altarians, and they agreed to my "terms"...can you guess what happened? I knew you could, but I will tell you anyhow. Everyone, including myself after I got the prompt about similar ethically alignments, declared war on the Korx. They were exterminated about 10 turns

Ah, thank you so much. I think where I was getting screwed up was the "Windows mode vs. full screen mode". I couldn't get the stupid thing to capture a screenshot )

Can anyone please explain to me exactly what needs to be done so that I can take screenshots of my games to post on the website later in an AAR. I love to create stories but I would really like to be able to add pictures to go along with the storyline as opposed to simple text. I have no idea how to capture a shot or how/where to host the image. Any help would be appreciated.

So what exactly happens if your AI opponent has a population-capped planet and then you drop a spy on a farm they have? Im guessing nothing, because thats the easiest answer, but I was hoping something else. I've tried to experiment with it but get no noticeable results. I know if you decommission a farm on your world it will show your population something like 11(6.0), which means too many people not enough food and I assume people start dying. Does that happen on the AI worlds, a

In regard to the multi planet question, the answer should be A-C, since B is your planet. In fact if you space mine with your original miner and go to 30 different planets then upgrade it to a freighter and go to a AI world, it will set up that trade route to your homeworld, since thats where the original miner was from. You cant have trade routes to your own planet as far as I know. Only starbases have effect on trade routes, not banks or econ capitals. Well, Galactic Privateer and Galactic

I think it is also important to consider the medium you are using to communicate as well. Appearance and perception play huge roles, especially in a debate on this type of forum. Don't forget you are TYPING. If you are talking with a friend or even just emailing some trivial YouTube clip, its not as important. But, spelling and grammar tend to be higher on the priorty list when you want to make that idea or point you are explaining make more sense under other circumstances. Now, I do agree
