I think we should toggles for everything! We already have them for victory conditions, mega events, minor races, Max CPU algorithms (whatever the hell that does), anomolies, asteroids, super abilities, etc. Why not add a toggle for espionage? And...and...spaceships? What the hell! Why am I FORCED to play this game with spaceships? I want to turn those off. I build some early on, and they aren't too expensive, but then the AI throws more and more spaceships at me, and the o
Just to clarify a few things that have been brought up but are wrong. 1. The price for an XBOX 360 is still cheaper than a PS3. Just cause you may have to buy something you want doesn't mean everyone else does. I bought mine and I am able to play everything I want haven't had to buy a single addon.
If you read what I said, here let me help you out,
1. The price difference when the 360 and the PS3 first came out was really deceiving. The 360 was chea

I want to see Chuck Norris in 2.0 It would be like a Terror Star, only with a beard, and unlimited movement points, and instead of blowing up a star, it would roundhouse kick you in the face and steal your girlfriend. It would have 2 settings: Kill and Destroy It would not be affiliated with any Ethical Choice other than choosing to abide by what Chuck Norris says to do. If you play as the Iconians you can't have Chuck Norris, because even Chuck Norris hates

How many games have you tested this on? What if you set planets/star/etc. to abundant to insure a suitable amount of planets to reach and colonize. Make sure the evils aren't just getting screwed because they are off in some remote corner of the galaxy with no planets in reach, or just extreme environments. Make a custom galaxy where you can control the other variables and run it through a few tests to see if it keeps doing that. Also, have you looked at the other var

Well...I did like the line "What happened to the color?" when the ion storm blew through. That was actually pretty "comic". ...and the blood graphics are pretty funny, looks like one of my uber MS Paint pictures. And I commend you on the time it took to actually place all those Legos and to upload all the screenshots. I'm not that patient or organized.

I had a 360, with the HD-DVD player attachment (that is now worthless). I traded it in for the PS3, which I really like a LOT better. A few points you might or might not know. 1. The price difference when the 360 and the PS3 first came out was really deceiving. The 360 was cheaper, but by the time you buy all the extra crap that the PS3 comes with standard, you spend the same, if not MORE on the 360. Not to mention the PS3 drastically dropped its price as well, actually selling the

I always look at it as this: tiny - starfighters small - larger starfighters medium - cruisers (it even says this in the game the first time you build one) large - destroyers massive - battleships/capitals

Just curious...so after a battle, do you Kzinti all get together and lick yourselves clean then hack up the furballs together? Or is that something that is frowned upon and you do in the privacy of your own litter box?

So a friend and I found a XCom CD-ROM with all 3 games on the CDs for a whopping 4.99 USD, and when I load it on my computer (with Vista), it installs fine but has no graphics. I can hear the game running, but can't see the game. Now, when I installed it, it asked if I wanted to load DirectX6.1 and I said no, because its older. Would downgrading the DirectX make any difference, or does anyone know if there is a link or some such thing I can install to

I've never played the game myself, but I played way too much EQ. If the Horde is outnumbered so badly wouldn't it make dungeoncrawling as a Horde member better? You would be competing vs. less people for the loot? Is that not how it works? As a side note I do think its funny that the Horde is outnumbered. Not really much of a Horde then is it?
There is no way anyone will convince me that slamming eco buildings on all tiles in the known Galaxy, then nipping down to the local WalMart to spend the dosh at this weeks Sale of Planets and Fleets is "Strategy" - its a game mechanic to by pass having to face up to the issues of natural resource, building time, population, taxes etc etc, all the checks and balances of making and growing an empire. If people want to do that, fine, be my guest, its a game not the race for the Presidency.

@JustinSane: Yes, I think you might be FORCED to do it on ToA, for creativity. Although I did have another little trick up my sleeve with the Drengin, as well as who I invaded first. @Mumble: Proc just means "triggered". I think it comes from the days of EverQuest, where people had weapons that would "proc" on an enemy when you hit them at random times.

Well, I will talk some smack for Neilo's sake. So although DethAdder might have 100k score in the bank, I'll one up him by proving you can win in zero years with these settings. In fact, I had to do it with ToTA, I'm not sure it can be done in DA/DL. Official Submission: 16100 pts 0 years Drengin ToTA Character ArcLightning

To the tile bonus question, yes you would ignore a research tile if you are using all factory. And in the new expansion I think there is a stiffer penalty to using focus on the planet, as well as a tighter economy in general. So yes the All-X is not "as" effective as it was in DL/DA
