On normal the AI doesn't use all algorithms available. Only at AI setting 'bright' do they really analyse everything and act accordingly.

War Profiteering. Tourism income generally is worth more. Trade income for certain races is higher. The tightening of the economy was IMO intended and works quite well. Still, take Torian super breeders and you almost need no taxes at all to generate income.
Show? What show? Battletech has to be one of the oldest tabletops out there... I still have several Technical Readouts, up to the second of third one with Clan Mechs. The idea of having one game of aerial combat and the fighters being able to make strafing or bombing runs on the traditional playing field was genius, IMO.
No.
Well, if you START the launcher, it will be running. You stated that the launcher is running all by itself, which it simply isn't. I also can't see the behaviour of my computer still transferring data once the website is loaded, no matter if the launcher is still running or not. Therefore my question: What else do you have running, in particular scanner, and have you scanned your computer?
I guess it depends where your own strong points are. Mine is economy, so I find those races a bit harder to play. ;)
You could try Iconians or Yor, they are as far as I can tell the weakest economy-wise. Together with tech trading off, that can be enough of a challenge.
My experience so far is that the bonus tiles, especially on the homeworld, seem to be more linked with difficulty than galaxy size. On my ZYW attempts at suicidal I almost always had several 300% tiles and possibly a 700% tile. With lower difficulties I'm lucky to even find one 300% tile.
I believe starbases must have repair kits (construction ships) sent to them. Having ships in orbit repairs them much faster. I thought "repair kits" was only to repair damaged starbases.
Yes. The paragraph is a bit misleading: Starbases need repair kits sent to them. Having ships in orbit (around planets) repairs them (the ships) much faster.
Yeah, I thought the influence buildings and influence starbases already do all that. Plus the influence special buildings / wonders.
I'd say the team definitely should have the required minimum amount of submissions in order to even be eligible for bonus points. Also, non-submissions could count as 'on deadline' games in regards to submission time (they effectively submitted a non-submission at the last possible moment), zero points (non-submission) if a team has less than the required three games. That would allow some of the calculations (team score, team submission time) be done even for those teams without gr
You might also want to check out Shrapnelgames [link="http://www.shrapnelgames.com/digital_eel/weird_worlds/1.htm"]Weird Worlds[/link]. It's a fun short game with pretty decent graphics and surprising depth when it comes to ship combat.
I'm particular impressed by the fact that they claim all titles will be Vista compatible. No small feat, given the age of some of the games.
Fallout 2 alone makes this worthwhile.
Yes, best leave time travel to the professionals. :P
I'm pretty sure the launcher doesn't start at boot time by default. At least it's not here now, and I just started the computer and checked the tasks (and processes). Did you run any virus scanners, adware scanners etc.? Maybe you have an entirely different problem and this is only one symptom.
I'd say this is actually one of the better reasons. Have you played Civ Revolution? It wouldn't work on the PC and they would indeed alienate the complete fanbase. Leave Revolution for the consoles (it's fun) and wait for the next real Civ to come out as it always has: PC only.
I think 'Off-Topic' is probably the most confusing place this thread could have ended up in, given that both Sins AND GalCiv link here... (Thank god we don't have a dedicated SotS forum, that would end in even more confusion.) PS: Piznit, cruisers are larger than destroyers. I think the most common way to map hullsizes to classes would be tiny -> frigates small -> destroyers medium -> cruisers large -> battleships huge -> dreadnought
The who?
I'm pretty sure we don't have any rock'n'roll bands in the Metaverse. (SCNR)
EA simply doesn't care for their customers, plain and simple. They even announced that their sports series will be discontinued for PC because of 'piracy issues' - sure, if they publish stuff with DRM like MassEffect and announce Spore, what do they expect? The only lesson other publishers or developers can learn from EA is: If EA does it, avoid it like hell.
Shields already block all three types of weapons, as do armour and PD. You might want to search the forums for 'off-type defence'. Basically, every type of defence counts as its square root of defence against other attack types.
Dread Lords first (obviously), then Dark Avatar, then Twilight.
I would consider buying it but the region restrictions of tng keep me from buying it even though i buyed the original game from it...
Seconded... (I understand the reason behind it, just trying to build up a lobby for a publishing deal. :D )
Did you start a new game after updating?
Why romes? Why not venices? It much nicer there... Seriously though, I think the 2.0 update for DA will incorporate a lot of the bugfixes from TA, most notably the MCC and possibly AI changes. I wouldn't expect it too soon, as long as there are still bugs in TA to fix. ;)
