In answer to 9) 'Fast freighters': Once a trade route is established, all freighters get replaced by a generic, speed one freighter. So fast freighters only help to establish those routes faster. 10) Spies: Yes, it makes a lot of difference. Spies also DISABLE the building they are placed on, meaning you can target economy, research or production of enemies and allies alike. During an invasion, you can also steal technology, in fact, that's more reliable than waiting f
3. It depends on how you got to the screen. If it's the update button on the ship, it's just that ship. If from the ship yard, all of the class.
No. Even if you go to the upgrade screen from individual ships, you still have the option to 'upgrade all ships of this class'. The cost will then reflect the sum of upgrades instead of a single ship.
1) No. Also see the 'official carrier thread'. The engine simply doesn't allow carriers or motherships. 2) No. There are wormhole anomalies that will do that, but they disappear after use and can't be placed in the editor or generated through technology.
I'm thrilled to be back in the Villainy once more!
Don't know about the exact date, but I recall that there were planned more than just one update. Definitely after the release of The Political Machine, though.
I'm trying to follow the draft - would it be possible to update the OP to show the choices already made?
Good turnout. I hope the tech bug in TA will have been fixed by the time the round starts.
I'm beginning to feel like an auctioneer... "Third place, starting bid 65.1... 65.45! 65.8! Do I hear 70? Yes, 70.35, 74.9! Sold! Sold to the guy with the weird hair for 74900 points!"
The only time ToA crashes for me (Vista 32, dual monitor, windowed) is when alt-tabbing in a very narrow timeframe while creating the galaxy, before the main play windows comes up... Which of course is no help to you. ;) If you get one of these crashes, it would be best to send the debug.err to Stardock so they can have a look at the cause. Or, better yet, install SmartException and send THAT log to Stardock.
Just the CD, there is no box for the expansions.
Fake serial? Then you have an entirely different problem at hand. ;)
Hm. Good point. On the other hand, buildings with research/production percentage bonus aren't affected by bonus tiles. And as far as I can see, there is no flag on improvements 'output can be boosted'.
Most of the time I'd much rather have an econ tile than a food tile, that's for sure. However, from the current mechanics, an econ tile simply can't work: Bonus tiles grant boni to building producing points. Econ buildings, however, themselves grant a bonus to income. Bonus tiles can't grant further boni to building that in themselves, already are a bonus to something. Hence, econ bonus tiles can't work under the current system.
It should get the bonus, since it produces mp directly.
You're kidding?
Just because you CAN rip the movies directly from the game doesn't mean you don't need permission do to so! Copyright remains copyright.
Heh. You know, there almost should be a sticky 'Terror Stars are for stars not planets', given how often this question seems to pop up. ;)
This bug was mentioned once, and the reason was found to be installation of the release version over the previous beta. When installing TA, did you first completely remove the TA beta and associated folders, like it was recommended?
Yeah, I'm sure with enough info the mods (and the other people on the forums) will be able to figure out how to help you. My first suggestion would be to clear the GC2 related keys in the registry and then it should be available for reinstall again. I had to do the same thing for Sword of the Stars, thanks to Impulse Beta. Also, the software developer in me can't resist: Always, ALWAYS backup before doing major changes. ;)
Hm. 'Year Zero Club - when simply winning isnt enough'. :D I'm really looking forward to reading about that strategy and analysis from the other top players.
Dominions 3 also just got the new 3.17 patch - adding another three nations and various other improvements.
Two thumbs up for SOTS. I avoided it for a long time, but I tried out the new demo and promptly bought it. Let's hope TG.net will release the 1.5 patch as soon as it's out.
Just the impulse I need to finally start on that first 30k win. Simply astonishing performance, KP!
Add to that the scoring system of the Metaverse, which is tied directly to population and income / research, and this bug needs to be right on top of the list for the next patch. ;)
I just looked it up, SotS and BoB are both on totalgaming. I used Gamersgate before (for the classic Jagged Alliance), but given the choice I'd rather order it via TG.net - keeps all my download games in Impulse rather than having to use several managers.
