Jafo, They still make Amstrad's? I had one back in '83 and thought it was awesome!!! I believe it used some DOS shell called GEM or something similar to that. Prior to that played with a Commodore Vic20.

Different folks may have different experiences with marijuana, just like with other drugs. It actually has stimulant, depressive, and hallucinogenic properties. As in most conversations with those who use the drug, I find that they mostly focus on how they are not impaired. Might be true for them, however, research and common sense dictate impairment. That's why it is considered a "mood and mind altering chemical". Addiction is possible, and probable,

I work with youth (I am a counselor) that are addicted to a variety of drugs, including alcohol and marijuana. I have seen once bright youth with very promising futures lose it all because someone told them that marijuana was harmless. There is a ton of research that proves how toxic marijuana is to the system, much more than cigarettes. There is also a ton of research on impairment that it causes. In the end

Desktop X is generally too much for me. I have experimented with widgets out of curiosity but have sadly been dissappointed. They have problems staying where I want them to stay, problems retaining settings (how good is a mail checker widget that requires the user to put the settings in each time it loads), etc.

I don't know if this has been asked about elsewhere or not. It would be nice if when visiting a thread on the forum and returning to that same thread, that you would end up at the point in the thread where you left off. Hope this makes sense.

A also tend to remove most "pre-installed" software on new computers. This includes all r

I've noticed multiple "spam" postings on the new site forum. Will we have to get used to this or will there be some mechanism in place to keep this off the boards here?

Well, I finally did it! After being tied down by the AllTel phone company monopoly in Elyria, Ohio for the past 10 years, I started a plan to rid our household of their service. Where I live, because of the zones that AllTel has set up, almost everything is considered long distance. I have a small family with "less than average" telephone useage (in my estimation)

Today is the first day that I've had access to the beta version of Woncustomize 2005. Could someone tell me how to access user icons? I'm talking about the ones that I see when reading posts on the message board here and also in the articles. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Interesting prediction from TPM. I hope that whoever wins does so by a large margin so that we don't have all the recounting that delayed the election results 4 years ago.

Election isn't over yet. While I am not altering my lifestyle because of something that a terrorist is/has said, I certainly think it is foolish to believe there would be a truce of any type, regardless of who "wins" the election.
