WinCustomize ForumsUsing PSP9 here with no problems - skinned by windowblinds. The only program I have currently that I have to exclude from windowblinds is MSMoney 2005.

It was not noticeable prior to installing IconX. I uninstalled IconX and rechecked "Enable MCP smart startup" and it's not noticeable once again. Oh well.... Guess I'll stick with good old windowblinds coupled with icon packager. Not all that much need for changes in the wonderful icons that I'm using (kudos to TSF for the Alienware package).

It is an object desktop splash screen. States that "desktop x is loading", even though I don't have desktop x running. Finally found a setting in stardock central - if I uncheck "Enable MCP smart startup" then the splash screen does not come up.

I have the version downloaded from Stardock Central (I have an Object Desktop Subscription). I'll let you know what is on the splash as soon as I log off and back on.

Seems there is an update on SD Central now that fixes the problem - at least for me.... I had to uninstall windowblinds first and then install the newest build. All is fine after a reboot.

Thanks Kris, I only just installed Theme Manager - took it off just as quick, since it did generate a virus message with Avast. I'll probably wait a while before re-installing. Don't really need theme manager, just wanted to play around with it since the Alienware suite came out. I just manually seperated the components from the alienware suite and installed them without using theme manager.

I did find something posted in the Stardock newsgroup today, however, it was posted after my post here. Still, though, no official word from Stardock. I will wait for a reply to the email I sent to customer service.

I know that this is not a tech support board, however, with the number of OD users reading these, I thought I might get some help/insight. I recently installed Theme Manager v. 2.10.026 via Stardock Central. I am an object desktop subscriber. Today, my antivirus software (Avast) popped up a warning that there was a "Win 32: Trojano-279 [Trj] virus found in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Theme Manager\ThemeMgr.exe" Has anyone else experienced this warning? I've had AT&T wireless for several years now and like the service. I recently (10 months ago) switched to their GSM service and bought a smartphone that runs a version of windows for mobile phones. It is quite wonderful - was able to sell the PDA I had and now strictly use the phone for calls and PDA functions. It's awesome.

Werewolf, I have been using firefox for about a month now. I love the tabbed browsing and built-in pop-up blocking. Since it is not integrated with the operating system, it is not vulnerable to many of the potential problems that internet explorer is. I find that it is fairly fast and like being able to switch the toolbar icons quickly - there are some nice skins out there.

I quit using alcohol and other drugs 20 years ago - One Day At A Time and with a lot of support. I only quit smoking cigarettes after I had a spontaneous pnuemothorax of the right lung - it basically collapsed one day, most likely due to the carcinogens I put in my lungs daily through smoking for approx. 20 years. I believe that well informed Style XP users could compare to well informed windowblinds users and co-exist without much hassle. It is, in my opinion, the few crazed ex-windowblinds converts or the uninformed/misinformed StyleXp users that engage in most of the bashing/flaming. People with real "chips" on their shoulders.
