Given Stardock's distribution mechanism (either retail package or SDC) it's unlikely an installer will be forthcoming.

I saw this posted somewhere else but I couldn't find it just now. The "Battle of the Gods" scenario is, essentially, unplayable due to the build costs of the structures. This impacts other areas of the game as well: if late game a new world opens up for colonization or one defects to you from another race the build costs of the higher level structures mean that the world in question will probable never be useful without purchasing the im
The DisplayName of "Ultimate Logistics" is "Expert Logistics" in the Techtree.xml file.
In the display of the ships in orbit around a planet my flagship icon changed to a blank square. Same background color as usual but no image of the ship. Launching the ship and bringing it back into orbit brought the icon back.
The galaxy was at peace, at least as far as the diplomacy screen was showing and then the Torians spontaneously surrendered to me. There was no dialogue box. No message. Between one turn and the next I was gifted with all their planets.
I forgot, are the Minor races really in? If they are where do you select them? There's an option in the prefs.ini file in the /data subdirectory.
If a constructor moves onto a galactic resource and you have the game set to prompt you before mining a resource and you say "No" to the build request and at some later point hit the "Construct" button for that constructor you get the choice of a military, economic, or cultural starbase. You have to move the constructor off the resource and then back onto it before it will actually allow you to mine the resource. The same sequence of events
is there an upgrade to make the starbases mobile? 75% of all resources are not within range of any decent planets. It's called a Terror Star. The ultimate military starbase. The revamping of how starbases work and the institution of distinct starbase sub-types probably means that resource mining starbases can never grow up to be Terror Stars
No. What I'm saying that the the home system has the exact same mix of planets at the exact same planet quality in each game. Making your home system work with a random start was a good part of the challenge in GC1.
That figures. It's the one type of starbase that I hadn't gotten around to building yet.
Hmm....hadn't noticed that. Thanks.
In GC1 one of the types of starbases that I used on a frequent basis was one that provided a boost to the industrial capability to the sector that held the starbase. Now that we have specialized starbases with military, economic, and cultural specialization the lack of an industrial starbase option is a glaring omission.
It would be nice if you could remove a queued build item from the planetary build queues if it hasn't started construction.
I tried to set my initial survey ship on "auto-survey" and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Even if there's an undiscovered anomaly three ship-lengths away sometimes it just won't allow auto-survey to be set.
If you alt-tab out of a fullscreen game when you come back in you get an "invalid call" pop-up and a crash.
It would be nice if the current display settings on the mini-map were saved and restored with a saved game.
Just two that leapt out at me: "Starbase Fortifaction" tech should be "Fortification". "Enhanced Miniaturization" in the "New Abilities" section of the tech spells miniaturization as "miniturization"
After reloading from a saved game and enduring a government type flip I tried to change my government type back to imperial. I lost the ensuing senate vote but the vote counts were so high it's obvious that some set of values overflowed. I took a screenshot and sent it in along with a saved game from the same point in time.
Okay...I've done a bit more testing on this and at least part of the strangeness I was seeing, that I reported in the forum on Saturday 11/12 seems to be tied to starting a second game without exiting to the desktop. Problems with build items not appearing when they should and other wonkyness. It looks like some of the data that the game holds in memory isn't being cleared properly unless you exit the game all the way to the desktop.
This was occurring with 0.77[b].008 there was no .009 when I played the games in question.
This was an upgrade install of 4B over a fresh install of 4A. I've played two games with beta 4B and the problem happens about 50% of the time.
I acknowledge the reasons behind the decision but I wouldn't mind seeing a "randomize all start locations" option.
I've played two games with beta 4B and I've had no immediate popups for any government type.
Whenever a trade good finishes construction the popup that announces it just holds "String not found".
In his Beta 4B post Brad mentioned that this should be fixed but it's not. You can at least catch the game trying to do it and stop it if you go into the game options screen and put an X in the box for "prompt me before harvesting a resource". It doesn't happen all the time but often enough to be a pain.
