Hello, I'll try to pipe in here: wonderful comments thus far - I have picked the right game and the right company to put my video game energy behind. I am LOVING everyone's suggestions. In response to the first guys' suggestions about ALL the custom elements for making ships: I think that's WAY over the top and would bring the game to a standstill.... they're really, really cool ideas, and they're well thought out (was interesting to sit there and read all of that), but I just
Hi! (you rock, dantubb!!) And I don't, eh? BR, Iztok
I wuv you too, Iztok!! You've been invaluable at helping me get into the swing of things. This is seriously THE best/nicest forum I've ever been on. SINCERE THKS to you all, Chr*s
Did I mention I'm COMPLETELY and UTTERLY addicted to this game - seriously... this is almost as crazy as the day I first played... Wolfenstein 3D This whole 4x strat thing has me insanely engulfed!!!
Yeah, I've been leaning Neutral in regards to all of my decisions I've had to make - havn't gone for the alignment tech yet, but I'm gonna attempt going Neutral... Hopefully, this will alleviate some of the heat from the other races. (current game - 7 AIs, Drengin are on Bright) The Drengin think they can mess with me... they're still on Small hulls and I slipped getting Large hulls teched along with Harpoon 3s : ) Needless to say, even tho
Give a minor race a bunch of planets. Sometimes this is the kick start needed to get them starting to act more like a major race and begin their expansion. It not impossible to enhance a minor to the point where they start conquering major races.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT..... omLORD.......... this really changes things for me - in a GOOD way... I never even thought of this. I can't WAIT to get home to get back to my game.... Y
I'm simply trying to avoid ALL war - meaning, I'm NOT at war w/anyone, so ^^^ doesn't pertain to my situation in the slightest. So basically, I like playing Evil w/out trying to go to war w/anyone if at all possible. You mentioned earlier that you're playing with all victory conditions turned off except military conquest, yes? That's forcing all the other races into territorial expansion as their only goal, so naturally it's going to b
Hi!
- try to make one minor a mayor civ, BR, Iztok
I am very confused by this statement.... I'm reading it as: "try to make one minor a major civ" ??????? Please clarify. Thank you sir, Chr*s
see what you're saying, but I don't think it makes the best sense. Most countries that are afraid of other more powerful countries try to strike up Economic related deals/etc... not go to war only to be slaughtered for fear of waiting until 'it's too late'. Most countries don't have to worry about being completely obliterated by any opposing nations. Would you just sit and "strike up Economic related deals/etc" when another race of creatures is
I see what you're saying, but I don't think it makes the best sense. Most countries that are afraid of other more powerful countries try to strike up Economic related deals/etc... not go to war only to be slaughtered for fear of waiting until 'it's too late'. If a Civilization is SO powerful that all other civs deem them unbeatable (thus making them think they need to do something at that moment), then I would imagine they'd give me money or attempt to strike up an Economic treaty/e
Neural, are you playing on DA? Are you playing with the Drath in your game? If so, the Drath are conning them into war with you. Otherwise, if you're able to stomp them, then just eliminate them completely. I promise they won't go to war with you after that "just eliminate them completely. I promise they won
Yes, DA, hence me posting in the DA section of the forum Yes, I have the Drath in the game. (oooooooooooooooooooooooooh), I JUST remembered something I wanted/needed to bring to y'alls attention. I have 3 of the 4 options for possible winning/conquest turned off (Military conquest is the one turned on) - is this a factor in how the other AIs look at the human player???? THX
However, a Research Coordination Center, Technological Capital or Omega Research Center will not benefit from Research Bonus tiles since they don't give base value output, and instead are mere magnifiers. Same with all Powerplants and the Manufacturing Capital. The Artificial Slave Center, Restaurant of Eternity and all Trade Goods remain unaffecting by special tiles since they give multiplicative galaxy-wide civilization bonuses and not base output.
<br
Its a great thing to put on a mystic spring. See, i didn't realize that the bonus would apply to ANY structure with a morale boost. Are you sure of this? Does this mean also, that a stock exchange will get the bonus from a 100% influense bonus tile? I usually ignore those. I use spies early, at a low level you can see the destination of AI ships. I like to place them on AI captials that i find, enemy or not. The best use of spies i think
My lord! I've never even had a 30 rated planet I don't think.... Dunno how you guys are getting that high quality of planets.. (I'm still on 1.5) waiting for the new ExP to come out before updating... CAN'T wait!!! When's it coming out? Like 2 months innit?
To them it doesn't matter. Just take out a few planets and they might offer a peace treaty. Milk it for whats it worth by asking for more planets and afterwards they'll be careful of you. Hilarious moment was when I waged war with a race, asked for peace and in exchanged I get ALL of their planets. They handed me their doom on a treaty that was useless. hehehe.
You would think so, but that was NOT the case in my last game... I would stomp a mudhole in an AI.... ONLY for
Cool thread. One thing I HATE so far... is that JUST because I'm playing with an Evil race... it seems to me that the other AIs (doesn't matter what race they are) will hate me NO matter what I DO!! And this really, really, really pisses me off. I try to stay out of war, I routinely give away 100BC, TRY to trade with as many AIs as possible/etc.. And no matter what happens.. the AIs eventually turn on me. It's LAME that just because I'm Evil.. th
How about this as tourism income: You research 'Xeno Entertainment' to unlock the 'Cruise Module'. Using this module, you can create Cruise Ships and send them to foreign planets to establish tourism from the alien planet to your planet and vice versa. You get income just like the income you get from trade routes, but this is far less income then what you get from trade routes. The length of the cruise ship's route doesn't affect it's income, but Influence Starbases belo
Oh, and I also long for a way to do whatever I want with a custom race in terms of points.... Why not have a "lame/whack/experimental" mode - whatever you wanna call it, and make it so the player can decide what he wants do to... if I wanna make an uber race with 50 points of stuff, why not... why shouldn't I be able to do it? It's a single player game... why restrict the player? I'll probably NEVER be interested in submitting a game to Metaverse.. why would I, it's a singl
Nothing wrong with the Yor having such high loyalty, I NEVER have to worry about an AI flipping my planets because of this high loyalty. All will fall before the might of the Yor Collective!!
Let me ask this: Is it possible to play as an Evil race w/ALL Diplomacy techs teched up AND keep other races from wanting to go to war with you or are the #s simply made up to where Evil races are doomed to be Traders no matter what?
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, so ThAt's what happened... they ganged up on me cuz I was Evil... well crappers... I don't wanna play with anyone else, and I don't like the thought of having to vote on everything.... I wanna be Evil and be able to trade for years and years and years = great fun for me sitting there making lots of money abiding my time wisely until War is absolutely necessary. I guess I'm wishing in one hand and shit
Good morning to my favorite forum! Guys, I'm in the middle of wrapping up a long (3+ day) Medium match w/5 AIs of varying difficulty. The Drengin were set to one level above Bright and they were my main opponent for the first couple years. Talk about an uphill battle w/the Drengin = most awesome "war" I've had yet. They went Logistics in a big way early in the game while I snuck Med hull at the same time... next thing I know.. we're in a constant struggle for supremacy over the next
What I wouldn't give for code that would tell the AI to, I dunno, even just fleet the damn transports with an escort ship or two. If the AI has a better military than you, you can still in 90% of cases get a small ship with one gun and a bunch of engines and have it dodge enemy ships and blast thier transports.
Morning, I'm still on 1.51 and I notice the AIs doing this ALL the time.... so ???? to why you haven't seen it. Hell, late game, they really st
I was just reading the descriptions for the 'new' technologies soon to be unveiled in the new expansion. Maybe it's just me, but I much rather prefer the older/shorter/simpler explanations of the technologies VS. these new, long, drawn out versions. It's cool to read about the races, etc.. but when I want to know what a building does, a short, concise desription will suffice for me. penny penny, Chr*s
The animations would be cool. But since not everybody has a good computer and this game is pretty big (in bytes) anyway, my battles would just end up running slow and a lot of people with bad comp's would just skip them so they don't have to wait an hour to finish a battle. YES, it would be really cool, but not practical.
Agreed 100% If I had a quadcore w/the best 8800 etc.. yeah, I wouldn't mind having this feature, but for most, it's not going to
