HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH You've got to be kidding me.. Seriously? This game has like zero physics calculations - only collision stuff. People need to learn what their hardware does before they buy it.
I hope it fixes the hosting/firewall problem. I cant even play your game unless im joining and not hosting. Please fix this issue, cause I cant play my friends online until you do.
There is nothing to be 'fixed', they're changing some ICO stuff and making some improvements in 1.04 but if you can't host a game that's pretty much your fault
No mention of fix for mod support.
They actually mentioned this already for 1.03. I have little pro
I hope this patch fixes some pathing issues.Anyone else have cap ships get annihilated on the way to the main fleet by taking a route through the PIRATE BASE (which was already explored) to get to my main fleet without realizing it before it was too late?
even when I tell them to go the other way! it's if they decide to ignore me every time they jump.

It's medium. You can win just by throwing ships at someone, but you'll take a lot of losses and if you use a lot of strategy (sometimes micro) you'll end up doing a lot better. The reason it's a little less strategic, I assume, is that you're managing the empire alongside the whole thing.

Xtremegamer X-Fi, getting a crackle on missile impacts when I make it use hardware in my user.setting file. Also, sound goes out after a long while, and after victory (if I "Keep Playing") Not related to the other thread, sound is fine other than that.

Upgrade your planet, build cap factory and extractors, build your cap (lots of threads on which one to), make a couple scouts and some of the Cobalts or cobalt equivalents. Send exactly 3 to planets (typically asteroids) with 1 light and 1 siege: this is just enough to beat them.

This is beyond the capability of modders and probably will be for the foreseeable future. You could hack around it by expanding the window to the other monitor in windowed mode and then modding it, but that would look ugly, not span well, and would be a waste of time. The way it's handled in most games (i.e. WiC) is treating both monitors as separate display and rendering components on them accordingly - something that requires changes to the engine.
You can enable error logging by changing LogOutput FALSE to LogOutput TRUE in your user.setting file. The log files are saved in the debug folder.(Your user.setting file is in Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting) (and your log files are saved in Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Debug)This will help you find odd changes you made.
Oh holy jesus I love you.
1) Will there be any increased modding functionality included in 1.03 or is that slated for another patch? If so, any idea when?
I certainly hope it's 1.03. The limits right now are painful.

Ignorance of the game mechanics and a desire to not manage resources does not equal "too many micro manage variables". It equals "play the game or ask nicely about them rather than dumping hate on the game about things that are already implemented".
I just bought a Q6600. I'm a gamer. And I do video editing. That doesn't mean I have too much money or am stupid- I bought the correct processor for my new box based on what I use.
okay and where in my post did I say you are stupid if you bought a Q6600 and do video editing
And the cost was just slightly higher for almost identical performance of a dual-core.
False. A quad-core 65nm has much lower performance than a Wolfdale in non-qua
I haven't tried this yet; but I hear that a Progenitor Mothership can take out the militia at a Terran or Desert world by itself with level 1 Shield Regeneration.
I can confirm this. With a tiny bit of microing, I've defeated the following force: 3x LRM Frigate 2x Kodiak 4x Cobalt 2x Flak ...which is the hardest militia i've ever gone up against. Taking minimal hull damage, was about 85% after finishing them. I always pick the mother
