Many possible locations for Cloud Walk are showing up invalid because "Target tile cannot be occupied by an enemy unit." This despite the obvious fact that there are no enemy units in that tile (or even in the surrounding tiles). The problem seems to be tied to areas that USED TO BE wildlands that I have already conquered. In my current game I have two wildlands under my control and both are useless as far as cloudwalk is concerned. <im
and, it would add to immersion if there were some quests that demanded immediate action. So you either go on the quest or the opportunity is lost. I have one that does that for my quest adventure pack I am making.
I would love some intentional immediate action quests. They could add a lot of flavor to the game in so many ways. Speaking of, where the hell are the random events?

Since Beta 5 is the polish/bug fix/balance beta I thought it might be useful to put together a list of small, potentially non-obvious, bugs that detract from the game. I don't care about the major bugs in this post, because they are obvious problems that get their own threads and will be fixed (the save game issue some people are experiencing, the tactical combat slow down, etc). What I want to point out are the minor annoyances (which many games ship with) that, while they do

It amazes me when people see a lingering bug and assume that means the developers either don't know about it or don't care. Is it possible that based on their development flow they purposefully ignore certain bugs because they know that this code has to get messed with anyway? Or is it possible that they are ignoring bugs in exchange for concentrating resources on development of the major systems (which may alleviate or aggravate the bugs in que

#2: I may have just been blind. I see the upgrade now listed in my city "Build" list. I plan to keep watching and see if I just missed it or if the options doesn't always show up when it should. It's probably my screw up though.

Overall I love the city management changes. The associated UI detracts from otherwise excellent progress on this part of the game. 1. Double clicking in an area around the city automatically builds the alphabetically first item in the available build list even if you are not in the build list. Double clicking while the city is selected should NEVER automatically build something. Especially not something I haven't previously selected. You can und

For every other resource in the game, the raze button is on the right of the other buttons. For Outposts, it is on the left. This isn't major, but is inconsistent and has led to a few save game reloads because I click where I'm used to clicking without thinking and accidentally raze my outpost.

It's always been weird to me that if I have a hero in the middle of a quest, say the escort the noble's daughter quest from the inn, that when another hero visits a different inn, I may get totally ignored (if the inn is offering the same quest). Wouldn't it be better if the inn either: Offered a different quest Offered the same quest with a different end-point Offered me some acknowledgement while not offering a quest</l

Either that or it's even more surprising how many entrepreneurs think that they build roads. Or simply the number of entrepreneurs who think it's ok to post ridiculously sensationalist headlines because hey, Fox News does it. I really don't understand that. Unless I'm not understanding the mechanic, political advertisements are not working right as the game progress. Here's the sanity test I just did for myself before posting: Playing an epic game. This occurred week 76/121. Flew my custom candidate to PA to drop a TV add about how I want to reduce unemployment. Created the advertisement successfully and got the little notice across the scroll bar at the top. The money was deducted from my campaign.
The larger point of this thread (I think anyway...) is that if you are unhappy with Steams actions then refuse to pay for products through them. You could also simply refuse to use their service period, but that may be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I'm not sure that anyone even thinks that is so contentious, yet some people expressed the opinion that if not for Steam PC gaming would be dead. [

I'll make the same point I've made in every one of these "Steam-is-evil" threads (seriously, it's like 1 a week now). Without Steam, most of PC gaming doesn't exist in 2012 (and certainly not in the next decade). People can pretend to take proud stances about the evils of Steam, but if you are a PC gamer in any form, you benefit from Steam, indirectly at least. Especially if you're someone who likes to play less mainstream games like Warlock: Master of th

The single production queue is a core mechanic that Derek has built the design of FE around. It's not going anywhere. Time, in the form of turns available to produce things, is meant to be one of your major limiting resources. The point is that you should have to choose between improving your society or improving your military. When you go to war, you are making the choice to forgo improving your society (or at least improving your troop producin

I love people who show up and stomp around yelling "THIS BETA HAS BUGS" as if they're somehow so much more observant than everyone else who posts consistently. It's a beta. It's beta 3 out of 4 or 5 major beta releases, plus the small updates contained in each. Of course it has bugs. They main systems aren't even fully in place yet. Because of that the final polish runs haven't been done. As for: [quote who="Captain Pat" reply=
