What happened to "it will be released when its done" approach? I honestly prefer it to rushed games. Take your time devs.
ShotmanMaslo
This would be great.
Its a 4X game. I dont think a campaign is needed in this genre. Every galaxy is basically a campaign anyway.
I do not at all agree with buffing starbases for late game. I really hate that idea because all it will do is drag out the game even further. Late game starbases should be easy to run over with fleets consisting of multiple capital ships or a single titan. Starbases are great for keeping foes in check or really making them work hard in the mid-game, but making them stronger when it's time to decide the victor near the end of the game bothers m
I agree, starbases need to be buffed up a bit in the late game, especially because of the addition of Titans. Starbases need to be more than minor nuissance for them.
I dont play competitive fast-paced MP, and prefer long epic games either against the AI, or with friends over LAN. Sins is basically the only game which fulfills the following: 1. set in space (I love space and sci-fi) 2. not very old 3. the right combination of RTS and 4X. Other games are either too much 4X, sacrificing military gameplay (and are turn-based), or too much RTS, sacrificing almost all 4X elements. Yes, if you want only RTS, there a
Quoting ShotmanMaslo, reply 15I agree, why NOT add more planet types, and celestial object types in general? It would only make the game better, and is very easy to do. Water worlds should definately be added. Just so I'm on the same page as the rest of the thread, is this more or less a purely aesthetic request or is there something that additional planet types are expected add to the way the game plays? <
Yes, they could also add something to the game. See Sins Plus mod for inspiration.
so sinperium what would make it possible for them to use ALL the power of the cores? or what would they have to do to add more stuff and not worry about slowing everything down?
64-bit engine. 32-bits are limited to 2 gigs of RAM.
I agree, why NOT add more planet types, and celestial object types in general? It would only make the game better, and is very easy to do. Water worlds should definately be added. Yes, there are mods for it, but if we followed that logic, there is no need to have any planets, ships and races in vanilla game, just the engine and mods. Vanilla Sins should be also be expanded.
Ability countdown on its main gun should be increased a bit.
I dont see the problem. If the enemy allowed you to amass such insane amounts of bombers, he deserves some serious losses. Build more flak frigates, Percherons and Sovas with fighters, and multiple Kols with Flak burst ability. Plus LRM frigates and cruisers with afterburner ability to go after the bomber carriers. And Hangar defenses with flak and fighters.
I agree, perfect alignment should not be required with slow moving Titans. It breaks the ability.
Personally, I think titans should be rebuilt at ((the level it was it when destroyed) -1). Just to provide a slightly greater incentive to keep it alive and retreat a little sooner.
-2 would be even better.
Corvettes piss me off!
I dont think creating symmetrical balanced tournament maps would be a problem with GalaxyForge, there are many maps like that to download even now, so the unbalanced argument does not hold water. Other than, that, Sins community is perhaps still too small to spawn genuine pro scene. Wait for the Rebbelion to be released, promote it accordingly, and we might get somewhere.
Maybe just allowing to build corvettes later in game (tier 3-4 research?) would fix the early game problems, without sacrificing their usability in late game?
I will repost these until they get implemented [e digicons][/e] : Empire at War style cinematic camera. Please turn off AI surrender, or at least make an option to disable it. Planetside (surface-to-space) weapons capable of firing into orbit. Will make now underused siege frigates more useful, since destroying all orbital defenses would not be enough to secure the gravity well. Colonizable asteroids and moons could really use som
Posters are cool. Keep them.
It would be nice if the dev's included the option to put starting positions (or teamnumbers) in the "normal (ingame)" map designer though... For those of us that don't want to spend hours with the Galaxy Forge tool.
Seconded.
Also a way to save generated maps is needed.
I like this suggestion. Stock random maps and map designer are still too specific and non-random, even with all set on random. True random map generator like in GalCiv2 or Tiberian Sun would be very cool.
I think its very cool. Its an ultimate ability, it should be fairly powerful. Maybe needs better effect when the invincibility duration ends.
Why are there no lights on explosions and other effects? I think it would add a lot to the immersion and feel of the game. Lights on explosions, muzzle flashes, projectiles, impact effects and phase jump vortexes could be added. No need for any fancy shadowing, as that will probably be too slow. Even the simplest light with no shadows will satisfy me.
