Did you just do a upgrade from win10 to win 11? If so, that could be the problem. A clean install will give you better results. Upgrading from win 10, to win 11, is not quite the same as upgrading from one win10 version to another win10 version. It's more complicated, and a upgrade can sometimes mess up your customization setup. For now, I recommend a trial purge and reinstall and see if that helps your situation. The information link is just below. https://support.stardock.com/

Charris, on Start10, or start 11, try this: Choose the window 7 style and the windows 7 style substyle, not the win7 grid See if that works for you.
That might be the reason, though I fail to see why you can't have transparency on a VM. Seems to me that there is something else going on. I am not an expert on virtual machines, but it could be a issue with your guest, and not the VM, try looking into your guest's window manager properties. Another possible problem area could be your graphics drivers for the VM. I do not have any other possible insight on this, since I don't use virtual machines. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon.
I'm sorry to hear that. Much respect toward his creativity and talent! I sincerely hope that things will turn around for him, in a positive way!
Sounds like you either installed a corrupted version of WB, sometimes a download process can corrupt a file if there are network issues. Seems unlikely to me, but I suppose that it ca happen on rare occasions. More likely there may be a conflict between Windowblinds and another piece of software on your system, and the conflict is creating that issue and popup. Have you tried just shutting down the pc, and then rebooting up again? Sometimes just a shutdown and reboot can help....
Here's a link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/5k9cvxhomqa97ju/System+Transparency.rar/file Neone6 has used the above in connection with his various WB skins. If that link is concerning, here are a few other alternatives: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-make-windows-transparent-i
For some reason, Neone6's site, Wincosmos, isn't working for me. Appears to be down. Is anyone else having trouble accessing that site? Perhaps he is doing a site remodel? [e digicons][/e]
As a alternative option, there is a free program called "System Transparency" that could accomplish what you want. In Windowblinds, the version I have, there is a feature called "Modify Style", click on that, then click on transparency, and you can make everything transparent by moving sliders partially to the left. So you have 2 options there. Hope this helps! [e digicons]B)[/e]
Sounds like you are describing the Flip 3d feature of Windows 7. There is a freelance version online called Win Flip, but it only works on Win XP. I hear that there is a version of Flip 3d for windows 10 in the Microsoft Store, but I am dubious. Might be worth a look. Your Call.
I can understand how you feel, Simplex. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best. It seems to me that some of these companies don't want to give us options. For example, Microsoft arbitrarily made my version of windows calendar unusable, and wants me to move to Outlook. This is a big reason why I refuse to migrate to Windows 11. Agree or disagree, it's my way of maintaining some freedom and control over Microsoft's tendency to arbitarily take my choices away.
I am wondering if the upgrade to windows 11 has anything to do with your problem. Was Windowblinds working fine under windows 10, that is, if you were using windowblinds on your windows 10 installation?
That's strange. Does that happen with any other software that you download and install? If so, it could be something about your internet connection that might be corrupting downloads. That possibility doesn't sound right either, but I'm trying to understand what could possibly be the problem area. Usually problems stem from corrupted downloads, software conflicts, conflicts with antivirus apps, and so on. Do the download themes show up in C:/users/public/public documents/stardock/window
Good point, doctor! Didn't think of that earlier! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I can understand how you feel Lori. I have mixed feelings about AI, but at the same time, like pelaird stated, some of these AI images are just so creative and interesting and thought provocative, and expressive, it's just a lot of fun to explore and test and try out and everything! You can just focus on those that aren't AI, and you also have the option to find wallpaper on other sites that focus on real photography, with real cameras with real lenses!
Dark Ride. A WB mod of "Diamond" that I came up with. Weather widget for Rainmeter is VClouds. Wall by Azdude.
My caption for this is "Alien Basketball". But someone could probably think up something better or funnier.
Interestingly enough, I don't see that ad in my version of start11....Version 1.47. Haven't updated it recently because I'm content with how it already is.
Perhaps in SkinStudio where it says Edit title bars and window frames? Perhaps extra settings or Code Editor on the very bottom of the app? I'm just quessing here. This would be a great question for Neone6 to answer!
I wonder if the version of Start11 you downloaded and installed might have somehow gotten corrupted during a download. Sometimes weird things can happen with a download. It might be helpful to uninstall the app, download it again, reinstall, and see if that resolves your situation.
Seems to me that there might be a software conflict somewhere on your system. Perhaps another app that is somehow slowing things down?
Go to settings, then control panel, then programs, then uninstall program. Look under Stardock or Object Desktop. Should be easy to uninstall.
Those two attempts look mighty good to me!
It's been challenging using various AI engines or generators in trying to come up with a satisfying wallpaper based on the book, "Ringworld" by Larry Niven. The book is about a artificially constructed world that is very much like earth, but it's actually a ring. There are seas, continents, clouds, but instead of it being a sphere, it's a ring, or perhaps kinda like a hybrid, both a world and a space station. Halo is a similar concept, perhaps loosely based on Ringworld. For the last two week
It is unlikely that Curtains will work properly, even under W10 compatibility mode, as Windows 11 is designed in such a way as to break Curtain's ability to reskin things such as a taskbar. You could try, but I am dubious. A far better option is for you to use Windowblinds 11 if you want to reskin Windows 11.
You may want to try to reboot your pc, sometimes that fixes things like that. Or as an alternative, go back to the default win 11 theme, then try again the theme or skin that you want. Try one, or both solutions, and let's see if that fixes the issue!
