Christ, it's been a while since I've checked in on this mod. How's everything coming along? Is it compatible with Diplomacy? You guys do good work. Keep it up.

The total war games do retreating from battles really well. You do sometimes have to do counterinsurgency to mop up armies that you shattered but didn't completely exterminate, but this doesn't hurt the game too much. A few notes: 1. This helps promote combined arms! Light cavalry become essential to making sure that you ONLY have to fight an army once. 2. It allows you, the player, to make daring comebacks. 3. If you win by a certain margin, the
I actually really like the orchestral arrangement of the Vasari music. The dissonance and pizzicato in the strings works well to set up a spooky feel. Also, this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc5mHwnSmHE
More epic standins you've found for the Sins music. I just got back from a summer at the Tanglewood institute, so I've had the Boston Symphony literally down the road from me, and I picked up some good tunes... I'll start, with Night on Bald Mountain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0h6H_vcSKc What are yours? Speak to me, forums!
Thanks so much! So, if at the start of a game I'm using a custom ship style, the ships will automatically have their functional components on them? As in, my initial colony ship will have engines and everything and not just be a hull? And is there any way to make styles that the AI will use as well?
Um...this would be amazing? How big would these tweaks be? 1: Somewhere, explain the creation of custom ship styles. The system right now is very vague. 2: Fix the alignment issues with lots of ship components. this would make a HUGE difference, as lots of great hulls and components have really weird alignment or symmetry issues with their components that make it hard to use them well.

On the other hand...pretty explosions...sparkles...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... All in all, I did enjoy it, if you sped up the game between per
Hey guys, I've been trying to make a custom ship style on GalCiv2, but the process is a bit confusing. When should I add functional components to each ship? Should I do that on the ship designer screen, or will I be able to do that after I hit "create custom ship style?" Help is especially welcome from people who have made their own custom ship styles. Thanks a ton
Thanks
I got Entrenchment a couple of days ago. I'd already logged a game as TEC, and I was about seven hours into a game as the Vasari that had been going on over the course of about three days. I had no trouble up to this point, no crashes, no nothing. Today, three minidumps, happening in more rapid succession after loading the game. What's happening? How do I prevent this in the future?
n@rsty! Who's next?
Fighters look rad. Textures are great (though will undoubtedly be greater!). Models are fantastic. Can't wait for release!

"Every pulpit is a pillory, in which stands a hired culprit, preaching the justification for his imprisonment" And, of course: "you do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice."
any chance of seeing the 'nids? that would be cool, but i doubt it'd be simple (relativly speaking)
I'm afraid that relatively early in the mod (before we even got our own thread!) it was decided that since we can't actually having moving animations, the Tyranids would be an infeasible race to include. I know, I'm as sad about it as you are. [e digicons]X([/e] [e digicons]:borg:[/e] Blessed be the Omnissiah!<
Complex mod is basically HW2 with a crapload of awesome goodies tacked on...including mining bases, salvagable debris, more ships, and lots and lots of gimmicky but fun gameplay mechanics (apparently they're adding planet management...I'm kind of skeptical, but we'll see how that goes...) Edit: Oh, and HW3 will be the best thing since molecular oxygen XD
Homeworld 2 with the complex mod is all I play nowadays. That and GalCivII, but HW2 is something special, and the Complex mod makes it incredible.
Great job, guys! -sniff- The little mod is finally growing up...they grow up so fast! [sobs with happiness]
George R R Martin's Dragonbone chair series.
Is that some obscure spin-off of The Song of Ice and Fire? Which is the best epic fantasy I can think of.

The latter FW ones look like stingrays....
A valid point, though I don't understand the dislike of taking designs from the natural world. I think the Kor'Vattra Tau ships were to some together thrown together and are much more utilitarian in design, wheras now that the Air Caste knows more about how to build a warship now they can kin
Quick question: for the Tau, is there going to be any distinction between the Kor'Vattra (earlier) fleets and the Kor'or'vesh (later) fleets? Because the later ones seem to be ALOT better than the ones presented by teh BFG rules.
and bloodstains
Wait a minute, wait a minute, WHAT!? Those things are three or four KILOMETERS long each! How much blood would you need for all that!? Chang, those are some damn fine looking ships! Maybe we should texture our chaos boats like that.
Speaking of which, an Ark Mechanicus (go to the BFG website and look at the Adeptus Mechanicus rules for more info) would be a good superweapon for the Imperials. Plus, the Machine Cult could be a faction unto themselves, what with the l33t models and free lance batteries and all.
