1. Are all your device drivers up-to-date? 2. Were you running a custom MOD or MAP? EDIT: I just re-read your post and have a "clarification" question. Are we to understand the you "mini-dumped" while you were chatting in the lobby?
Sounds like a mouse-driver issue to me.... Then again, since you yourself say "...it's done bizarre things before,..." it could be any number of additional things...

The MODS are the mod-makers responsibility to keep updated as the game gets updated. If a MOD is crashing the game then don't use it until it is updated by the MOD-maker. thanks, the Monk

When you say you've "opened" those ports, I'm assuming you mean on a software firewall on your PC. If you're behind a router (or a dsl/cable modem which also functions as a router) you'll need to "forward" the traffic on those ports to your PC as it's not even getting to your PC at the moment. I'm afraid it looks like you have your answer already. Your only recourse is to insist on a "complete" copy from EB Games or demand a refund? Game stores have been known to remove CD-keys etc. from games (some even going so far as to reseal the copies after the fact). I don't buy from EB games anymore (had one too many bad experiences there myself).

It's something you research. For each race it's at a different tier on the research tree. Muse98354, It has been stated many times now on these forums by the DEVS that all further patches (bonus material) will be via IMPULSE only! If you choose not to run Impulse (and install any additional software it may require) then you are also choosing to not get any further "bonus material". :) the Monk
