Once again, Since SINS is entirely P2P and the ENTIRE game sim is being run on each and every persons's system (the HOST doesn't "host" anything, just SYNCS all the games together) it is entirely possible that someone else's CPU or connection lagged everyone out to the point of desync. the Monk

Starmonger, Since SINS is run ENTIRELY on each person's own machine and the host is only there to SYNC everyone's games together it is possible that your lag is due to someone else's CPU or internet connection. Every MP game is at the mercy of the slowest CPU or internet connection in the mix. thanks, the Monk

"mini-dump" is a generic term for a crash such as "illegal operation" for MS products. mini-dumps/crashes happen for any number of reasons such as driver issues, hardware issues etc. The de-sync bug was fixed for an (un-modded) game in a previous patch. I personally have never received a mini-dump of any kind and I've tested the game on many different types/configs of hardware and OS'es. I wish I could help you more, but at this point I would again suggest running the ga

How about without the MOD enabled? It is quite possible that the MOD is at fault with your de-sync issues. Since the devs can't be responsible for user-made content stop using the MOD if it's the cause.
When I go to play the game it gets to the main menu then freezes my computer. The sound works and I can see the menu I just can't do anything. What can I do to remedy this?
I'm assuming this is before you've clicked on anything? In which case, I would suggest updating drivers for hardware in your system.....particularily the video drivers.

You mean you don't know the username/password for your router. If you never changed it from the default, check your router's manual (online at the manufacturer's website) or try googling for "default login info for " thanks, the Monk

Please download and follow/implement the steps in my guide "Networking and SINS" which can be found linked-to at the very bottom of my original posting in [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/174313"]this thread[/link] under the GREEN writing. Make sure you've got the correct guide (meaning my SINS-specific guide) by verifying the file creation date to be Feb 14th 2008. Everything you need to know to host SINS is contained within that guide, and unless you're

It will introduce a NAT-T type "optional" netcode which will be able to tunnel past routers/firewalls enabling people at universities etc. (who are unable to follow the instructions in my guide for hosting) to be able to host. That, along with other changes which I don't remember at the moment..... the Monk
Well according to several posts from Yarlen, there will indeed be a public beta test of 1.1 just for the net code. I would definitely assume it's optional, however.
Well spank me and call me eeets! ;p Guess I missed those posts by Yarlen...hmm
Over the internet.. I was hoping that this was fixable the same way as AoE3, because that was extremely simple and easy to do, but it's obviously not. I guess I'll look through the other posts and all that.
Just follow the link in my initial reply to you. My guide "Networking and SINS" contains all of the information you'll need to get set up. the Monk

You can't connect to each how? From in the same room connected to the same switch/router? Over the internet each behind their own router? If it's not from in the same room, you will need to download, read and follow the steps in the guide I wrote for SINS hosting-setup (Networking and SINS) The link to my SINS hosting setup step-by-step guide can be found in the OP of [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/174313"]this thread[/link] right under the GREEN writing

Performing a "trace" (using the tracert command) between you and stardock might shed some light on where exactly the connection is "lagging". Before saying someone else's connection "sucks" it is wise to make sure it's not yours. :D the Monk

Once you've downloaded stardock or impulse, you need to install it, run it, register your game (make sure you've got the correct game selected) to your account and then download the updates.... the Monk

Once again.... "minidump" is a a generic term for crash! There are literally hundreds if not thousands of reasons why/how your game could crash. 1. Outdated/bad/corrupted drivers for the ooooodles of hardware in your respective systems 2. MP game de-sync......which by all accounts has been fixed. 3 memory related issues...... Personally I have found that SINS likes more than 1 GB of physical RAM and a pagefile that is at least 2.5 X the amount of inst

If both you and your brother have your own copies of SINS then you will be able to "hook-up" via ICO (IronClad Online) If however, both of you used your copy then you will need to click "multiplayer" from the the main menu and manually enter his internet IP address to "join". In either case, the one of you wanting to be set up as the host will need to follow the step-by-step instructions in the guide I wrote for SINS. In order to make sure it's the correct guide, pleas
I have the same problem with ironclad, help please
@ cabula Help has been provided, please read my reply to the OP (reply #1) Also make sure that a firewall pop-up hasn't shown up in the background....try alt-tabbing to see, or running the game in "windowed" mode at least untill you've dealt with any firewall popups. thanks, the Monk
why the hell cant you just download a patch like virtually every other game in the universe Its suppose to be easy and just a cople of mouse clicks
@ walzdragon It is easy and just a couple of mouse-clicks (after registration). Would you prefer the DRM-infested approach of other devs to this: 1. Register 2. (in-game) MAIN MENU >> UPDATE Easy enough.....I'd say. the Monk
