One thing I forgot to add in my reply to the OP was.... If you've just recently updated to 1.05 and had 1.04 in your firewall "exceptions" list you'll have to (for some firewall software) re-do the exception for the 1.05 .exe thanks, the Monk
I can understand that a professional network administrator would secure his tight controls. But, here, in the context of home PC gaming, what's the problem if a game "tunnels" though the router if the source of the tunneling (in this case, IC) is trustworthy ?(It's only a question ... to which I do not know the answer.)
@ Sorceresss As long as something on the inside of your network is "listening" for and "accepting" tunneled traffic other traffic can masque

1. Please make sure you have the latest game version (1.05). If not, you can update your game from the main menu. 2. Please check the "stickies" relating in the "Technical" forum. There is a ton of information in this forum relating to issues such as yours. 3. Download, read/follow the steps in my guide (Networking and SINS) which can be found at the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ" (not the regular FAQ) or linked-to from my stickied thread in the "Tech

I doubt they'll be having a "beta" for a patch that so radically changes the netcode for SINS. It's not something that can only half-work! It needs to be "fully-cooked" the moment it is released to the public. the Monk
I wish I could have that thought of "too much playing". Honestly, I can't play more than a few hours on singleplayer. I'm gonna have to lower myself to the_monks little forum fixer *sniffle* but i doubt it will work considering not all people not multiplayer have followed his steps so I will probably get minidumnped. Yay!
Lower yourself to my "little forum fixer" ?? You just made my day! ;p

@ Nighraid3r As far as the network/hosting issues go. All anyone had to do was look at the stickies to be able to set themselves up for MP play. Unless a person doesn't have physical access to their NAT-devices (routers) there is no reason at all why the instructions in my guide wouldn't work for them 100% of the time. Having said that, you do know that their will be new NAT-T (NAT traversal) type netcode in version 1.1 that will "tunnel" past/through routers/fire
Hey I've been trying to address the host problem with Ironclad Online. Nobody at Stardock and Ironclad Games are listening.
@ Viewpoint You have not been trying to address an issue. You have talked down and "name-called" as evidenced in [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/312906"]WWW Link[/link] that thread. Many of us have posted and re-posted answers/help, all of which is simply ignored by you. Another thread started by you, go

@ Viewpoint Interesting! What in my initial reply (reply #1) to the OP was "berating" exactly? I gave him help for his issue, so maybe my somewhat "cheeky" suggesting that he could have found the help himself in a sticky had he looked? I can, as can many others point out quite a few "berating" and downright derogatory comments aimed at myself courtesy of your post however.(reply #2). Still no apology forthcoming huh? @ Viewpoint 1. You did not only cut me down, but rather called me a bunch of "choice" names as evidenced in [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/312906"]WWW Link[/link] that thread. I noticed how you never apologized for the mindless drivel aimed at me in that thread. 2. SINS is P2P, not client-server and it will never be client-server. In fact, the HOST in sins is only a "host" in name. Each and every person runs the ENTIRE simulation on th

I can confirm that Boom Blox is fantastic (for the whole family). As I'm sure other parents among you will know, kids love destroying things.....this game feeds that need. hehe :CONGRAT:

kryo, Exactly it. These days everyone wants anything and everything with no effort expended. I'm surprised people haven't complained to the chipmakers about making chips that'll do what they want just by "thinking" about it. ...and so the world turns.

I remember you from ICO earlier tonight! 1. When you complained on ICO earlier tonight about not being able to host I gave you the direct-link to my guide (Networking and SINS). If you're telling me that you didn't bother to download/read the guide then what you're doing wrong is refusing to help yourself. I have always made myself available to answer any follow-up questions (and in many cases talked people through unique hosting issues on my personal TeamSpeak server). <br/

Thank you Annatar for coming to my defence. I can't believe how my posts can be so misconstrued by some. No matter, I will continue to do what I do best... helping people with networking. Maybe someday we'll play each other Anny and you can teach me the game! ;p hehe the Monk

1. Please don't use CAPS in your postings to these forums, IT IS RUDE! 2. There is plenty of information in stickies (and many other threads) which covers all of your issues. Please use forum searches! Your hosting issues can be resolved by following the steps in the guide I wrote Feb 14th/08 "Networking and SINS" and can be found linked-to from the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ" or my stickied thread in the Technical forum. @ Viewpoint What? No response? I thought not....you have no idea the amount of personal/professional time I've invested into this community. @ Viewpoint Obviously you have no idea how many (damn near 100 people now) I've invited onto my personal TeamSpeak server and given of my personal and professional time to get them hosting when they were confronted with unique networking issues I couldn't put into my guide or it wouldn't have been applicable to all. I've been patient to the tune of several hundered un-paid hours, the least you could have done was a damn forum search! Good day!

My guide (Networking and SINS) is all over the place, most notably linked-to from my sticky in the "Technical" forum OR the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ". Make sure you use the "Networking and SINS" guide and not my more generic other guide. the Monk
