IronClad Online is completely out of the picture once the game has started. Your "lagging" could be due to your internet connection, a hop in-between you and the other players (doing a tracert to the IP's of other people in your games will help determining that), or since the entire simulation is run on each person's machine and HOST doesn't "host" anything but rather syncs everyone together it could be your CPU lagging behind. To reiterate..... 1. ICO

@ Ozzy702 You're sure you used my "step-by-step" guide (Networking and SINS) and not the other more generic one? I wrote the generic one last year to help out with issuse in World in Conflict, the SINS one I wrote Feb 14th of 2008. Please check the file dates if you're unsure of which guide to use. The link to my SINS hosting setup step-by-step guide can be found in the OP of [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/174313"]this thread[/link] right under th

1. Since it's not only happening in SINS but also Vegas 2 (which is buggy as hell, but does actually run) I'd say it's obvious that it's an issue with your machine/config and not the games themselves. 2. Something to check (as psugar already pointed out) are your virtual memory settings. I have a 6.5GB pagefile (I know I don't really need one that large, but then I've also never had a single crash in SINS). Might be something to check out, especially since you're getting a po

Sounds to me like you're having several different issues..... 1. I would do a "tracert" between your comps....(when the map upload fails) to see if there is a bad "hop" somewhere. 2. Your second issue (over Hamachi) sounds like game desync.....which the DEVS addressed in patch 1.05. Make sure you're both running v1.05 Lastly, it is my understanding that some people have been reporting crashes/de-sync etc. when having MODS enabled, and no such experien

It's called "desync" and the DEVS are aware that some people are experiencing issues such as yours. It would be helpful if you would zip up your saved game and send it to them. I believe the e-mail for support is "[email protected]" (you might want to verify that) thanks, the Monk

1. Please understand, forwarding ports means going from the EXTERNAL (WAN) side of your router to the INTERNAL (LAN) side. Therefore, forwarding a couple of ports cannot cause ANYTHING to change on the switch (LAN) side. 2. It's quite obvious that you're having a "network" issue. IE. You've given your PC an IP which isn't part of the same network ID, or you've given one or more PC's an incorrect subnet, or you've ...... Let me know when you hit 9 FPS.......you know, after those giant battles you haven't tried yet! If you don't like the frames you're getting in an RTS, play smaller maps with less units.......problem solved. the Monk

Download and read/implement the instructions in my guide "Networking and SINS" (not my other guide "Networking for the Gamer" it's more generic). You can find my guide linked-to under the green writing in my OP. thanks, the Monk

nicolasconte, I just sent you a PM with a link to the Apple Airport Extreme port-forwarding guide on portforward.com. Use that link to find out where exactly to enter the ports needed for SINS described in my guide. thanks, the Monk

If you have your folder "options" set to "hide extensions of system files" and then rename the file to a .exe what you've actually done is renamend the file to eg. SINS.efw.exe which of course will not work To make sure that you haven't done that, go to folder >> options >> view (and make sure you have "hide system files" and "hide known extensions?" UNCHECKED) then you will be able to ensure the file has only the ONE (.exe) extension. thanks, <br

@schmikah Please download read/implement the instructions in my guide "Networking and SINS" which can be found linked-to from the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ" (not the regular FAQ) or in my stickied thread in the "Technical" forum. Follow the steps in my guide (don't skip steps) and you'll be fine. :) thanks, the Monk

If it's saying that you "don't have all the files", then that's exactly what the problem is. One copy is updated to a later version, or one copy has MODS enabled and one does not. It really is a simple as that. :) the Monk
I live in Halifax While my brother lives in ontario. We both can;t connect to a game. What the hell?
Not being able to connect to a game once connected to Iron Clad Online is entirely different from the issue posted by the OP. Your issue is as a result of the game's HOST not being correctly configured. Please download read/implement the instructions in my guide "Networking and SINS" which can be found linked-to from the very bottom of the "Technical

@ jwilliamo I've added you to my xfire. I'll try to be online soon. It is possible (if you have a router in addition to your cable/dsl modem) that you're running into (as I say in my guide) a double-NAT issue. If you have TeamSpeak, please send me a PM and I'll send you my TS server info, so that I can talk you through the steps. thanks, the Monk

@ fatalerror99917 It sounds like you used my more "generic" networking for the gamer guide linked-to from the regular FAQ. If you scroll up to the top of this thread you'll see a link to (under the green writing) my SINS-specific guide (Networking and SINS) I wrote back in Feb. That guide contains a step-by-step that will have you hosting in no time. thanks, the Monk PS. As usual, I am available most evenings (CST-time) to talk

The planets you colonize cost "upkeep"...... try upgrading your planets so they make you money instead of costing you money like your fleet etc. does.

Your hosting issues can be resolved by following the steps in the guide I wrote Feb 14th/08 "Networking and SINS" and can be found linked-to from the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ" or my stickied thread in the Technical forum. Alternatively, if you do not wish to be bothered with following the steps in my guide, or you're at a university dorm where you don't have access to altering settings on upstream routers/firewalls; there will be new optional netcode in patch 1.1 which will ena

The DEVS are fine with you installing the game on 2 machines (which you own). You will however need to buy an aditional copy in order to play online from both machines at the same time. the Monk
