Not quite sure what he said to make you think he hasn't purchased the game... people with the full game are also getting this error. In fact, because this game has no protection, I would assume the error would be almost exactly the same for everyone, pirated copy or not.
I think what Windexglow meant was that, if you pirated this game the mini-dump files are probably not being created at all due to lack of proper registry entries including paths for

@ MMojo Just asking? You seem to be all for getting the guy who's fault things are to FIX it! Well, we all know that NVIDIA drivers of late have been total SHIT! So I guess if I look hard enough I'll find a post on the NVIDIA forums demanding an actual 100% working driver and not the 65% working POS we've got now. Might make games like World in Conflict, SINS, and plenty of others crash (mini-dump) a whole hell of a lot less...... :D
That's right..tantrums solve all issues. *looks around for a soother........ Here's hoping you wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow... HINT: SD/IC are doing what can reasonably be expected of anyone in their position....are you? I suppose we would find a similar post of yours on the NVIDIA forums proclaiming disgust at their POS hardware/drivers in your system?
@kedgington So you just admitted it happens with a particular MOD you and your wife are fond of, however with another MOD (of which you two are obviously not as fond) it never happens. I've heard nothing from you with regards to "vanilla" SINS and as far as I know "vanilla" SINS is what the DEVS are responsible for. ....just a thought. the Monk
@ Admiral, You're welcome! I'm glad that everything is working for you, and should I see you online and I actually have time to play ;p I'd be happy if you would teach me a thing or two in-game (at the rate I'm playing this game I'm bound to remain a noob...hehe). :D @ Everyone else, To those who haven't read my guide or are in the habit of skipping pages/steps: It is rude to not read my entire guide and t
Hmmm.. you mean I'd be able to hang-out in the chat lobby without even loading the game then? hehe....the possibilities. I could link troubled-hosters to my guide using my blackberry....sweet! :D the Monk
Oh wait, I can now almost see the shadow of the Monk, tell me my friend are you working for Ironclad ? or maybe Stardock ?
:HOT: No I do not work for SD or IC, but tell me....does one have to work for them in order to help them or others? If for example it says at the upper right that 200 people are online and you see only 15 people in the lobby and 3 games listed the following is fact. All but the 15 of you in the lobby are alread
lol :CONGRAT: Ron, another eloquently-worded post by you! Some days I'm not as patient as you...hehe
That would seem to me to point to some hardware failure.
I agree!
I have a problem where my computer frezzes up w/ music when I enter all my info. to creat an account and I have to unplug my comp. and start again. Ctrl+Alt+Delete wont exit me out either what should I do?
Run the game in "windowed" mode as it sounds like a firewall is asking permission to allow SINS out and you're not seeing the pop-up. :) the Monk
Wow. After reading the answers to this thread, even if it was a question with an obvious answer, I can see why traffic on this forum is lower than I would have expected for such a best-seller. -- Retro
Ummm...what? Where have you been? Traffic on these forums is huge.... *shakes head bewildered* ...well it's slowed down some because the forums keep getting DOS'd and preventing those "regulars" amoung us from checking in more often. :) <b
I contacted MS with my test conclusions shortly after SINS release-day, and it appears they've updated their "exceptions" to include whatever it was about SINS that Defender didn't like. I've had reports that Defender is now behaving with SINS. :) I have not however verified this, so until I do I'll leave the Defender warning in my guide. thanks, the Monk
For the first problem: Please download, read and follow all of my instructions in the guide I wrote Feb 14th/08 "Networking and SINS" (not the older more generic one on NAT). You can find this guide linked-to from the bottom of the "Technical FAQ". For your second problem: That is caused by CPU lag on the side of one or both of you. Please remember the HOST doesn't really "host" anything in a P2P-game like SINS. The host simply syncs the data between the s
There aren't enough topics/threads about a campaign etc.?? /delete useless thread # 1, 997, 055. ;p
Thank you the_monk that guide really did help
You're welcome! :) ...and thank-you for your positive feedback. the Monk
actually i read all your guide, still no help to it
Then you're missing something. My guide is meant to be followed step-by-step. Many people who at first told me they had read my guide and it wasn't any help found out that by skipping a page or two they had sunk their own boat! :) In fact, just last night one fellow told me that "...nowhere in your guide does it mention port-forwarding..." When I pointed out that on page four the words "port-for
Please download, read and follow all my instructions in the following guide. Then, assuming you're not at a university campus (or anywhere else where you can't control your network settings) you/your friend won't have anymore hosting issues. :) http://www.kiclan.com/monk/Networking_and_SINS_by_the_Monk.pdf Why you didn't check the "stickies" for help regarding this is beyond me.....? Oh, and there is a substantial difference between
If either of those ports are blocked, am I SOL, or is there a way to go through a different port? I would think that port 6000 is blocked since I can't even log onto ICO while I'm on the college network.
You're SOL until version 1.1 comes out at which point people will be able to run SINS with "encapsulated netcode" (if they so choose) which will alleviate these sorts of problems. the Monk
I see. Well I do know the sins forums were being DOS'd quite a lot over the last week or so, and sometimes the only cure is to temporarily block large IP address blocks...etc. the Monk
Please download and read my guide (Networking and SINS) linked-to from the "Technical FAQ" and the "How to: see/connect-to/host Servers" sticky both in the Technical forum. thanks, the Monk
HuntingX, Was there a purpose to this rhetorical crap other than to clog the forums with more shit? With this thread you're no better than that of which you speak! the Monk
Admiral, You need to "add player" (add your online name), then USE that player to enter the ICO lobby! :) Good luck! the Monk
Please download, read, and implement all of the instructions in my guide: http://www.kiclan.com/monk/Networking_and_SINS_by_the_Monk.pdf Follow the steps outlined in the guide (read carefully, and don't skip steps) and you'll be fine. :) thanks, the Monk
I hear you which is why you will have the option to run Sins using the current or the new way. If you are concerned with security just don't activate the new method.
and there are people "out there" who doubt the wisdom of SD/IC??? :D Fantastic news. :HOT:
Thx once again Monk for all your help. Hopefully, this won't be an issue as of version 1.1 - we have some awesome new network technology which means no more hosting problems, no more port forwarding and no more messing around with routers
Ahh yes... the benefits of NAT-T. :) Forgive me if I say, I wish (because I'm always more concerned about security and data integrity than usability) it would stay the way it is. *sigh* I know, most people want usabil
