I also remember reading about that. IIRC it may be race specific with a tech or building???

Well put vxt22 ! psychoak , remember one ststement. "Don't argue with a fool as others might not be able to tell the difference...
Use a specific number for minor races and the game will put them in. You may end up with one in your starting system if the map is small!
Bottom line: No good paying jobs, no money for homes, cars and extras. Just the essentials, food and clothing. All big businesses will collapse without customers. Businesses are no longer willing to pay their employees decent wages (all the money is going to the top execs.). Every employee is just not a worker, BUT also a consumer/customer!!!
If you want to add any custom races to a game that you are playing as a "custom race" you can go into the race file [ Your Race .raceconfigxml ] and edit the race ID number. The game will allow only one of each race in the game, so you will need to decide which race you'd like it to replace and change your race to that ID#. Example: The dreadlords are race ID#13. In this raceconfigxml the custom race ID is #12. Now the Dreadlords are now a custom race and the same i
The cheat requires you to setup a new link to the game using the prompt line (in bold) Drive:\GalCiv2\Twilight \GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe cheat
Just remember that, genetic engineering would eliminate the need for gender!!!
How about the "Hyperion Shrinker?" You may need to build that to get the message off.
"allow homeless players" is why you see messages for Minor races that aren't there. Check off the 'homeless' option. When you create a "New Race" they must have a Race ID# in their racial file. Its' in the top of the ( Race Name) .raceconfigxml file. Example: 27</Con
1) It's a bug. 2) No, you cannot engineer a ship of equal abilities. 3) I'm not familiar with the "ship focus" dialog you mentioned, but I'm sure someone else here is. 4) I would imagine that the same AI code is used for their ships as well.
You need to swarm the Dreadlord ship. Research logistics and create a "Death by a 1000 pinpricks" fleet...
Wow! Tree huggin Drengin, What a rush!!! [e digicons]B)[/e]
Wow, I've never seen a planet like this in any of my games!
Did you edit these? No wait! These were AI Race planets that you captured OR flipped, weren't they? I've only seen planets like that from captured/flipped AI worlds.
You have to be open to running the race as the Dev. saw that race's characteristics and style of play. That would be like trying to run the Drengin as 'loving and caring,' [e digicons]
CTRL + N for a game reset. CTRL + R only works in a "Cheat Mode" game.
You do not start with any food techs. Xeno farming is the first tech you can get to upgrade your food production. It will take your planets a while to grow population anyway! So while your waiting, research other things!
BigGee72 is correct. The only time your base will be involved in combat is when it is alone. You cannot use bases in a fleet as the game will not allow it.
You can use the ships buy substituting your ship for the starting ships listed in the ship directory. Keep the same name just copy your file over the generic one. BACKUP the originals first !!!
Load the map again in the editor and save it to the GC2 Main folder ( Drive ): \GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\CustonMaps\ directory or just copy it there from the My Games folder.
OPTION: Blow them up!!! Yea, sure it'll start a war. BUT you'll get your point across... [e digicons][/e]
I beleive there is an AI issue with them and the Drengin and Korath. These are being corrected in the 2.0 version. The Altarians build only transports, right? The Drengin and Korath won't colonize if other races are too close due to Influence issues. One fix I've found is to change the AI to Krynn in the race setup screen. At least for now they will expand like the Krynn, but still use all their racial benefits! It works, try it!
The thing is, that to do spying right, you're going to have to create a 'game within a game' to capture all the possibilities of spying, espionage and sabotage. I didn’t buy the game for that. So, a few changes to the system will help and lets remember that it’s always your race against the rest of the AI’s. You will
Check the planet screen and then click " Details " button. Make sure the setting under 'automatically update building' is on.
Sweet!!!
