I think its pointless to be able to create 50 accounts.
I think you can only have 5 names. At least that's all it seems I'm allowed to create.

Raging, this may sound like a dumb question to you (and for all I know, it probably is a dumb question), but what's the big deal about smurfing, anyway? Note that this isn't a "smark alleck" question, it's just a polite, honest question. I truly want to know the issues involved, what kinds of problems it creates, yadda yadda. Perhaps you can explain it?
So then tell me, whats the point of all this?
What's the point of what? I've explained all my points quite clearly. If you had trouble understanding, I guess you can go back and re-read, if you are motivated.
Why continue to put down a community that you're a part of?
What exactly got your panties in a wad? Me warning new players about MP? Me telling them to be careful about it and stay out of the 5v5 pugs?
Hey, *fantastic* Deceiver_0! Did you get it all out of your system, or is there more? Feel free to vent more of that toxicity that's in your soul - I'm listening. I'm here for you, pal. This guy seems to have run into the exact same stuff I've witnessed online (you'll have to read down a ways, past all his comments about spam). Perhaps you can enlighten him to your point of view. Just tell him that what he ran into with getting booted was dumb luck, and t
I strongly disagree with everything you said, but I guess opinions are like assholes - everybody has one.
You gotta pay your dues to be recognized. Since the community is small everyone knows each other.
Hear that? You gotta "pay those dues," boy! You up for that? It's sort of like a good old boy network, you see. You have to somehow try to "break in" and convince them that you are worthy of their consideration. If your self esteem is that low, and if you are truly motivated, I'd recommend pandering to these people and giving it a shot.&nbs
You seem to have two early game choices: spam LRMs with your colonizer cap or spam scouts with your colonizer cap ship. If you do anything else, you lose.
Let me enlighten you as to the history of spam with this game. When the game first came out, believe it or not it was siege frigate spam. Huge armadas of siege frigates, which could be built at tier 1, armored like tanks, flying around bombing planet after planet into oblivion. The gameplay mechanic
After a couple quick battles the Advent player had no capital ships, hardly any illums and needed his neighbor (the vasari) to give him a SB to keep me from taking his homeworld after I took his roid. He even got a small feed. If Vasari are so weak how is that possible?
The explanation could be any number of things. Maybe the guy sucked. Maybe you are awesome. Maybe you had feed. Etc.
All I did is what I outlined earlier. I trap
SpardaSon21, it is actually far far worse than what is portrayed on this thread. I have another thread that was prematurely shut down that you can see - Assholes of a Solar Empire - and I had so many names to put on that list that never got on that you wouldn't believe. My email box was overflowing with submissions. Furthermore, I continue to witness severe assholery online every night - far, far more than with any other game I've ever seen. You really have no clue how
Thanks for advice from you and everyone. All is helpful.
The problem is the halcyon bombers. 2 halyons walz into my homeworld 30 seconds after game starts and there is nothing I can do. I starbase... well of course it dies instantly to bombers. I attack with my capship, of course it dies to bombers. I produce another colonizer capship so I can just run away and colonize a roid somewhere and survive, it is chased down in the next grav well and it dies. Meanwhile I have snuck another sb onto his homeworld, and he just ta
Well let me ask some of the experts about this? I've been getting hit with a TON of halcyon spammers lately. In fact, every game I've had the last few nights, if they were an advent opponent, they were spamming halcyons with a 2 halcyon start, one built right after the other, with more to follow. Now, I tried to counter this with the vasari skirantra, but my results were lackluster. So this brings me to my question. In that last patch or two, they buffed capshi
Just read some more of your posts. If you don't like spam, and don't like mindless play, you are in the wrong multiplayer online game. All I see online is spam and mindless play, and I've played the game online since it came out. Most people run "scripts" or "programs." Not literal computer scripts or programs. I suppose what I want to say is, most of the "skilled" people you will run into online are playing by a script. In other words, they know exactly
Actually, if you want a nice gaming experience, you should do the contrary to what some people are telling you and STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM 5v5 pugs. The quality of competition is good in the 5v5 pugs. The level of sportsmanship and quality of personhood isn't. You won't have any fun sitting in a room for an hour waiting for it to fill up, only to be booted by the host as the game starts because you don't have a recognized name, or aren't one of his butt-buddies he likes to
I guess I could show you the replay, but since you are one of the top players in the game (I hear), I hesitate to do it as you will no doubt find flaws in my game everywhere (my game is at a level below yours). At any rate, I guess the point is, look at all the stuff you had to write, and all the pro techniques you have to pull off, in order to beat this thing. Sure, I have zero doubt that you can do it. But what about everybody else? It's an imbalanced strat, meanin
ok... now... how is a vasari supposed to counter disciple/scout/halycon rush?
LOL, don't ask me. I just left a game 5 minutes ago as vasari. I guess this is now the main advent script of choice, because an advent player started right next to me, and rushed me with two halcyons. I starbased, it was destroyed almost instantly. Then he killed my capship. Meanwhile, I snuck a starbase over to his homeworld, where he promptly went over and destr
For the Single player community the vasari are balanced fine
Yeah I agree with this.
2. Capital ships don't use anti-matter when making SC so this weapon is much less effective against them.
Yeah, already knew that, but I was still trying like hell to figure out a way to counter :-(
Darvin told you when it would be effective but it seems you didn't read or understand it.
I read and understood. I simply reject it a being a viable strat for me (no offense to Darvin3). If all he has to do is spam scout/disciples
Perhaps you should try Kols/Kortuls
Already beat you to this idea: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/371683
The answer to the Halcyon is fighters.
Nope, tried it. Didn't work for me, even when I severely outnumbered him in fighters. What about a dunov with magnetize? I guess that won't do much either?
You cannot clear the air with flak burst alone.
Well screw this idea for a counter. So much for all the things I've heard about the massive kol with its awe-inspiring flak burst striking terror in the hearts of carrier spammers everywhere. I'm not a tec player - I didn't know the ability sucked. I guess I'm declaring this scout/disciple with halcyon crap officially OP. Yeah, I can counter it by spamming the same crap back at him, but why would
Okay I'm tired of running into all the seeker/disciple with halcyon crap online. So I decided to go multiple kols with flak burst to try to counter the damn bombers from the halcyons (if you go fighers, they just get bitchslapped). So I get online, knowing that the first random person I play will choose advent and use this strat. Sure enough, I do 1v1, and that's exactly what happened. (Boy, I'm just waiting for the day when someone decides to use an original strat rat
Ya try using subs.I think they are more op than repulse.
Subs with distortion field are tier 6. How you gonna live long enough to get those out on the field of battle? I still say they are too micro-intensive and fragile for practical use anyway, plus they were nerfed back in the day.
Second, I feel quick-start ruined Vasari balance in online play.
Agree 100%. But in addition to the neutrals you spoke of, they could also
I did say to add in a carrier cap too
Already tried last night - failed. The reason? Bitchslap of doom. In the chatroom after, the seeker/disciple spammer said he considered the halcyon to be OP.
thats the thing. i think their rationale was: well, Advent excel in SC, so their carrier should be rolled out sooner.
That's fine - nothing wrong with giving a particular faction an advantage in a particular area. Thing is though, it's still screwed - tier 1 lf counter the tier 2 (and 3) carrier. Tier 1 lf counter tier 2 flak. On and on. Normally you'd want counters to a unit being on the same tier or higher, not lower. There are exceptions
