Check your sim speed durring those times. I had simular problems after 1.1; still do, but I found it goes away if I play with /nosound. It was not me after all.

Civ4 is great; you can get it with all the new content, mods and both expansions for pretty cheap. Colonization is a darn fun and interesting game now with the new patch (anybody know what I mean by "Kiss the Ring"? Man, you will SO want to destroy the king by the end of that game). And it's far from new, and may not run on your computer, but Imperialism II is a classic we played for years. If they did a remake (nothing but graphics, and to make it work on mo
I've had this game a while. Sadly, I had almost talked two of my friends into getting Demigod with me, but they ended up getting DoW2 because of the condition Demigod was in when released. I really do like it's Rep system; friending abilities; and none of us has had any drops, DCs, or laggy games yet. I don't think it's P2P, and we get into games in under a minute usually. I find I enjoy the core game itself "almost" as much as Demigod; my friends lik
I would like to add DarkShadowMech & Emojoe. Were they good players, no, they were noobs. But the kind of new players we want in this game. Their ally quit in a 3v3 game listed for noobs. He quit after his second death because he said his teammates were not good enough (ya, this is in a game listed a for Noobs too. I almost put him in the hall of shame). But they did not RQ or ever stop trying. To make matters worse for them, a pl
Shake, we still play Age of Wonders II here, but it's getting kind'a long in the tooth. Was kind'a disapointed with HoMM5 too. So Elemental looks like a game to finally fill that empty patch of fantasy TB strat games. Defective, there are lots of nice people here, they are just busy having fun playing the game or ignoring most the flamer posts. But ya, there are also quite a few "not-nice" people here too.
This is what I've always wanted to know, and never understood about computer games the last 5+ years. They release a game way too early; get negative reveiws and negative posts on so many forums, and then spend months & months working on patchest/updates to try to undo and "negate" how imperfetly the game was released. I was always wondering, why not spend the exact amout of time that a complany would be working on patches/u
Poor guy last night: I joined a 4v4 Exile (I NEVER played with the guys before) and the 5th guy comes in, and starts asking if were a premade. I tell him no, but he does not beleive me/us, and finally leaves. People are just getting paranoid. We need Random teams badly so that kind of thing is rare, not common. Or, they are just going to have to program the game so the second player goes to team 2; third player to team 1; forth player goes to team 2, and so on (unless/
Wow, never thought I'd get so excited about trickles. I check for updates on Impulse every day like people check their mail boxes. That's great news. With the demo + replays, I may be able to get my friends to consider the game now again.
If/when random teams are implemented, that should be far less of a problem.
I think the OP might have just been talking about how "lame" (for lack of a better word) it is that he can throw mines at people feet as though they were AoE attacks. They don't seem like mines at all at the moument, more like bombs. Flat bombs. Flat bombs that you can throw on people that are in you face.
I'm confused. Why did'nt you just update the game with the free patches/updates, and play/try it yourself to see all the changes/improvments? No body else is going to know if "you" can play online now or not. Or if you still find the Demigods borring. Or if the game has become more like dota for "your" taste. [e digicons]o_O[/e]
DOH! It says it did not save my post, then double posts.
It's not just the "healing" or "save a butt" part some people don't get, you also have to spend your own gold on items & consumeables for constant mana instead of health, armor, damage items that all the other teammates can get. I don't know about other Sedna players, but if I even try to health stack items, I run out of mana fast. Being able to make a "shopping list" would be ok, if your very lucky enough to have generous teammates too it might work.&
I will do the same thing Dash. Since 1.1, the sound cuts out every minute or two, and that's on both my computers (which are very different). Also, Sim Speed dropped dramatically since 1.1 unless I play with /nosound.
When replays come out, this link will be even better. You can actually "watch" how good people played, and/or what good sports they were. And I REALLY need replays, because I'm mega dyslexic, so with all the crazy names out there (and up to 9 of them to try to remember), I can barely remember even one of my nice/good opponents/teammates. Is'nt that right DonZeh and Solemon_Bane. <img src="http://www.lushtshirts.co.uk/index-images/dyslexics_untie.jpg" alt="" width="
NTJedi, GREAT idea. I/we have been playing the Homms and Age of Wonders I & II for many years, and that's always a huge letdown: You can get two armies ready to attack or defend, and then you flip a coin to see who gets to be the first suicide attack, and who goes second and gets the killing blow and all the glory. . .
Cheesh, I try my best to type OOM, but I'm not that fast of a typer to begin with (and I also have a mending broken finger). Seriously, even with a fully functioning hand it would take me 4-6 secs to get OOM typed and get my fingers back to the playing positions, and in that time, a LOT can happen. Plus, sometimes I find a mana scroll, or, my mana creeps up juuuuuuust enough so I can do one heal, but again, since there are no mana bars, I rarely tak
Some great news. Gives me hope. I'm just hoping (like some others) that random teams and/or the host+quitting=win exploit is fixed in 1.1 (or 1.2). That's pretty much the reason I don't play online anymore. Perhpas an unranked game area, where I/we don't have to worry about ranks at all? Still, I'm guessing many modders are drooling about now. And the 50% xp/gold for killing AI replacements is GREAT! That plus imporved AI means that a RQ may not mean
I play Sedna 90% of the time, and sometimes I wish nobody knew she could heal. Lots of times I get someone typing "HEAL ME" or "Why Did'nt you heal me!". It's like they think I'm picking my nose instead of playing, see that they need a heal, and say "naw, I'll keep picking my nose". If a Sedna did'nt heal you, it's because of 6 reasons: The player is new; their cooldown has'nt expired; they are out of mana; you are in such a
Thanks Bane, and yes, before reset. But I had a not-so-good ranking before that too, because I never cared who I played with (and I had no idea that all games = stats recorded). Now, between RQs, premades quitting to get the win, playing with noobs to help them (and, of course, just plain old losing because we lost fairly), I have 100% loss rating. If they just had some type of unranked game, then I could help the newbs; play against

There needs to be a "Noob Night" or something like that. In WoW, we had Noob-Nights on Thursdays in our guild; they flocked there. It was a big draw cause the new people did'nt feel so bad about messing up, and the experienced players that showed up knew in advace team wipes were the theme for the night. And the "Win Only" crowed steared clear (which was even better).
Same here Zeh; Spore, second only to MOO3 in hype vs flushability. And the Spore that was released was not even anything that was shown/hyped in the previews/demos (anyone see the Robin Williams promo?). I think with SD & FB, the very worst that can happen if you pre-buy Elemental is that you'll only play it 6 months before you stop smiling. . .
Tell you what Zeh, I'll let you pre-order it on my account, if that will help your conscience [e digicons]O:)[/e]
