I had a suggestion a while back that the death penalty upgrade at the citidel should also lower the gold/xp the enemy team gets when they kill you. I promise you, after that people would FINALLY buy those upgrades. . .
I play custom reguardless if it's a premade or not, so it's not a big deal to me. Team automatch sounds just a great to me as random teams.
As FB mentioned, a random teams option is very likey, very soon, so this link is a bit moot. Just a quick "click" on the Random button, and you won't have to worry about premades (if you don't prefer them). If you see a custom game in the future, where the 3-4 people on the top refuse to use the "random teams" option, yet they profess they are not a premade, that will give you a HUGE clue. . .
This DoK. I would only play random teams (if implemented) or "announced" premades (with friends).
Yes Saber, there were quit a few effects that did not show up pre 1.1, now they do to us 7000 users. Being able to see the TB's Circle of Fire, and QoT's Bramble Sheild are just a couple important effects to point out. But Kryo, like stated in the title of the post, changeing/lowering my settings seems to do nothing to maintain speed; only using /nosound. That's what's puzzleing us. I now have to play with /nosound & /nomovie just to keep above 0 now. <
DDD, many people have said they would love a random teams button, and many people would use that function. It would be an "option", so you would not HAVE to use it. But I would use it 90% of the time myself.
If you happen to have a 7000 series Geforce card, yes, you'd see all sorts of new graphics/effecets.
There also seems to be a bug with sound with some of us since 1.1. The sound cuts out occationally, and my/our Sim speed drops down to -1 to -3 unless we play with the /nosound setting. That's is a workaround, but playing in complete silence is difficult. I'm hoping it has something to do with the deompression you mentioned above, so it's all fixed next patch.
It's the Demi-Steroids favor item. . .
There's a huge grey area with stats: Rated & Unrated games. I never cared about stats in my life, that's why I play even if there are noobs on my team, even if I'm sure the other team is a premade of 4 identicle twins with psychic implants, even if it ends up being me + 3 AIs vs 4 humans. But with EVERY game recorded; the host DC exploit; RQs; and the stats not recording correctly, I show 100% losses at the time. Again, I could have cared less, but now I can either
More than annoying to me; I did not know my enemies had Giants till they started clubing me in the head. Did someone die? Keep hitting TAB to see. Guess I'll see what chip upgrade fits a Abit KN9 board. I'd hate to upgrade if this just ends up getting fixed in 1.2+. Besides, here's how my computer purchasing luck goes: Buy any upgrade for my computer and a better, less expensive upgrade is advertised in the paper the next week. . .
Tried it. It did not effect my Sim in the least. Still 5 from start, 2 near end game. But, I "could" turn my graphic settings even higher without any visual lag. Odd that.
Not listed, but some type of Macros would be nice. Right now there is only "P"ing. And/or Bman's mod, that would take the need for lots of communicating out (no more constant OOM needed). Anybody else play Sedna? "Move hands to typing postion, Enter, O,O,M, Enter , Move hands back to gaming position" in the heat of battle usually means a dead teammate. In fact, what ever happend to key-mapping? That + Macros would help a lot. As for ite
Trying it now (crosses fingers).
I was one of those having a -2 Sim in a 4v4 game several days ago. I could'nt beleive it. I offered to quit, they said no to my surprise. It's been that way since 1.1 for me. I have a "decent" rig. I use to hold 2-3 sim minimum before 1.1, now, even with every setting to low/off, anything more than a 3v3 puts me under 0. I found a fix; a fix that works but is almost worse than the sluggish gameplay: Using "/nosound" now puts me
There is no "folder" DD, it's a file, executable. It has to be there somewhere, that's what starts the game. If there is a shortcut on your desktop for DemiGod, you can just right click on it, left click on properties, and add /nosound to the end of the "Demigod.exe" line (make sure there is a space between exe and the /).
Nope, the .DLL fix above did nothing for me; zilch. [e digicons]:S[/e]
It was a very good and needed balance change. The fact that the other team drooled and celebrated when your team spent money on a so-called "upgrade" was pretty silly to say the least. I saw one guy type once "Is it possible to get the preist upgrade without the priests comming out"; that's how "Alice in Wonderland" it was.
Since 1.1, my games start a sim 5-6, and end up -1 to -2 in 4v4s. That's really bad. Lowering all settings to Low/off does nothing. I tried /nosound, and it ran 8-9 at the start of the game, 2-3 durring the end. That's a huge difference! But playing with no sound is pretty awful. I will try the above fix to see if it help. Has there be ANY word from SD or GPGs about this???
Mine went from 5-6 start (-1 to -2 endgame) to 8-9 start (with 1 to 2 endgame) with /nosound! But playing with "no sound" is pretty awful [e digicons]:\[/e]
Well, I tried the /nosound test, both with maxed settings, and min settings. Both games both started at Sim 7, and bounced between 5-6 the entire rest of the game (just like before 1.1). When I take the /nosound off, it's down to 1-2 Sim the last half of the game, and I'm guessing it will be -1 to -2 online. . . .
PCI & Dual Core chips are outdated? I'm not going to spend another $1500 just to play Demigod online (like I said, it never goes beleow 2 when I play solo, only online). My rig is only 2+ years old, and I play games like DoWII with perfect smoothness (even in 3v3s). I was just hoping there was something "I" could do (rather than invest another thousand+ dollars) to get my sim speed up. Again, it seemed fine post 1.1.
That's the odd problem: I was Sim5 or 6 at the beggining of the online game (just like when I'm offline); everything was running "normally"; but then it was -2 when someone alerted me. Even odder, it went up a notch (to -1) after the game got even more crowded (with giants and WL 10 spawns). It never gets below 2 when I play skirmish/solo. So getting a new video card won't help my Sim level?
Not sure if theis should be in Tech or General, anyway: Ever since I learned about sim-speed, I've been proud that it was usually 6ish all the time. But an online game today, after 1.1 (which fixed lots of graphics glitches with my 7900GT) showed me there seems to be other problems now: I was playing a 4v4, and someone said MY sim was low (ha ha I thought), sure enough, it was -2 [e digicons]8C[/e] So I go to options, change everything to medium, check, it's st
