Tat, I don't think this is a "spoiler", but you can give Morrigan (is that her name?) healing eventially as she advances. Also, if you ever go to any place that has mage characters (like the Circle tower) you might chose to add a mage/healer to your group. Once you get the Tactics AI programming down, you almost never need to pause durring casual battles. Challenging battles, well, I need to pause them most the time; babysitting is more like it, but that's one of the great

The battle part of DA is as L2P as Demigod; remember all the "This demigod is OP and I always die" posts at first. This game is also, as one reveiw says, a Slooooow Burn; it's gets better and better as you play (and also as you learn to play). BTW, there was also people posting 2-H weapon warriors are horrible; but NOT if you get a character that makes potions, and/or a healer, then they are killing machines.
The most surprising thing is, I've yet to encounter a negative opinion of the game. Any. At all. Not just gaming websites, but regular users as well, opinions pretty much range from "best RPG of this generation" to "best RPG ever made". Me, I bought it on Steam as Impulse is NA-only, and its preloading slooooooowly... no biggie, as its not released until a couple hours 'round here (it was apparently pushed forward a day, was gonna be tomorrow).<

I've been playing 21 hours so far according to my "Acheivements", and it says I've completed 15% of the game and only explore 9% of the map [e digicons]8C[/e] . Add to that the almost unlimited reply value (you could replay, what, 6 times easy?) and it's a LOT of bang for the buck. I hear it's about 100 hours if you do every quest and explore every corner. I give it an A- so far, and the "-" is just because the graphics are not "great", just kind'a good.

Ha, I have a 9500 1 gig memory; one of the first dual cores; and just 2 gigs memory, and I can run it with maxed setting and 2x AA. The graphics are not that "great", so it should not strain you machine in the least. And yes, I got the game, love it, and have played it every spare moument since I got it. You know you got a great game when, "while" you are playing it, your thinking of all the other ways your going to play it the second and third time through. This gam

In reguards to trading techs, I hope you will concider not going the Civ route, where, you can trade a Tech to another civ, and in just one turn, bam, the natives are making tanks. Even worse, the natives then trade their new tank technology to every other civ on the next turn, and, bam, the entire world goes from spears to tanks in two turns. How about if you give/receive a tech in a trade, that it only halves the amount of

Well, I can't count how many Lan games I've played with 2-3 friends here, tripple digets I'm sure. But because I log in occationally, and join a pug online, my rating is (I think) 15 games with 2 wins. I'd call myself a C+ player, but I'm beggining to feel like a leper.

Perfect General II was great, we played that game for years. Did'nt anyone play Deadlock I & II? "We have an exoskelliton, you have skin" The Chit-Chit. That game OOZED with personality. Having Morale in Elemental would help a lot to make the units more alive; like they had a soul. Having more than just ONE rating representing two factions attitude towrds each other would really help too. There could be ratings like "Trust" (you

I vote no on workers. Building roads with workers in Civ is not that fun, it's a bit of a micro chore. How about if roads were built slowly, by themselves, over time between towns and/or mines/resourses, but, they are only primative "paths" at first, which you can pay to improve. And you can place "Signposts" on the map to mark where you want roads to pass through for sure. Your workers/people would build roads to the signpost(s) first, then to

If my TBS friends know that a battle can last up to an hour, and, they can pause all they want, I think they might just go for that. Great! Two possibilities for battles and reloading. Being able to reload a game usually m

By "Auto Resove", does that mean we can still watch a battle play out? I know lots of people don't want to micro an entire battle, but still, also don't like just a "Defeat" sign after they click on Autoresolve. And if there is any possibility of any type of "turn based" option that would be such a releif (I have 2 friends that love the Civ/HoMM/AoW battles, but can't stand the TotalWar type, so I'm very worried that they will pass on this game, as may others like them). Here's the thing with formations: I've never ever found them useful as far a giving the player a "choice" in battle. Mostly because your usually going to use the exact same formation for front line units every time, every battle, and the exact same formations for ranged attackers, and for calvary. But if this game would actual make different formations tangleable/useful for all units, I guess there's no reason they can't be added/included. And I also

I agree with Morale and Flanking. In so many games like AoW or HoMM, you can surround a unit with 2,3, even 4 of yours, and it's has no advantage what so ever. Not only is that really unrealistic (unless your fighting a 100 eyed giant octopus), but it takes away a wonderful part of potential stratagey mechanics. I had never condsidered Endurance before, but it brings up many possibilites, like how fast do you march on the map (on one game I had, Kohan, you c

Yes, without damage types, you lose lots of possible counters, defences, and yes like said above, everyone gets the "Giant AoE fireball" type spell. Every time. Every game. In a game where you can build most any unit you want, not having damage types means little way to counter with anything but spam. Perhaps three "basic" types (Ranged/Missles; Physical/Weapons; Magic/Spells). With possible sub-catigories for of the basic types. Like addin
Let make sure we're all on the same page: The entire point for delaying the economy beta was so that the user interface of the game could be updated so that people could see how the economy works and debate THAT. Whether a building requires a resource or not is beside the point because unless people KNOW a building requires a resource or not there can be no real debate in the first place.
<

I always wondered why, in Civ4, 1 resourse always equaled 1 resourse. If they had like a "scale" of 5-100, 5 being a little puddle of oil, 100 being a gusher, then you could use the "gusher" to build your special units, and have plenty to trade with other empires. I hope they can do something like above in this game: Everyone can find a puddle of needed resourses here and there, but the motherloads of resourses might be randomly placed in neutral areas between starting cites to

That is soap in his mouth. He cussed, and that was (is?) a popular form of punishment at that time. I think he is describing the different subtle tastes of each brand of soap he's been punished with in that scene. I remember seeing the original at the theater, and, for those have only seen it on TV or the newer DVD stuff, it's been editited quite a bit here and there (for example, the father did not say stuff like "Son of a

So I thought I'd give DG another try tonight; been quite a while, and I seem to have to nothing but ragequiters and sneaky premades in the past. I see a friendly, casual looking game, so I join. I keep thinking that something about the game feels familar. 5 mins in, I notice the Vampire Lord teleporting across the cracks in the exile map constantly. It's then I remembered reading something about an exploit for that map and the Vampire Lord on this f

If you make it so if the Sovereign dies = Game Over, nobody will ever attack with their Soverign 90% of the time (especially in MP games, where it will jump up to 98%). Minus well put the sovereign in a tower in your main castle from the start then. In the HoMMs, you have to buy your generals back, which I never liked much. Having the soverign be "out of commishion" for like a dozen turns, plus some kind of reserection or summoning cost would be my vote.

If a race like the Zulus is the only option to trade/diplomatically get a resourse in Civ4, again, your sol. You have to fight to get the resourse, and, without the resourse you can't really fight. No human player or aggresive AI ever trades/gives up any needed resourse that they know their opponent needs.

With both warehouses & a market place of some sort, all 3 options would be viable. I vote no on A, as I've played with A for years in Civ4, and it's a gamebreaker far too often. An important part of the game that must be discussed in order to better choose A, B, or C is "Counters". If there are going to be counters in the game (and I truely hope there will be, as opposed to vanila units that you just want the highest damage and armor on all units), then option B is alm

I think being able to have a "trickle" of every nessessary resourse is a must. Learm from Civ4's mistakes: I've played Civ4 for years, and I can't tell you how really bad it is for gameplay to not have oil, or horses, or iron, and you absoulutely can NOT make a unit if you don't have the resourse. On the other hand, if you get more than one resourse of each type, it's near useless, which gives no incentive to aquire and ho

I just played the demo for about 3 hours. Interesting game, but, they only put 2 scenarios on the demo; the first is a cake-walk tutorial, the second seems to be an almost impossible, wave after wave, hair pulling fest. Not sure if I'm just a noob with this game, or it's really that hard.
