We're aware of this issue and investigating the cause. It actually occurs with any ship.
I hope a fix comes out soon. I would like to see a fully functional AI, this is where we can get a good feel for the balance. currently we are limping along playing the game and only getting a feel for the mechanics of the game. Thank you Yarlen,
Thanks John, I updated it with that info.
OK, There seems to be a lot of confusion for some people on how you build a Titan. It can be a little confusing at first because we all are stuck in the old way of building a Capitalship. First off in the research tree under the Miltary Research Tree you will find Experimental Designs. At the bottom of the screen you will notice a set of four icons all looking the same way. They are named Ankylon Stage I through IV. The Titan is built in Four Stage
Yea, this one got me too at first. but I at least went back in and fully read the research notes and thought to myself oh I'm a dumb shit! [e digicons]:S[/e]
The other aspect of the Yohikos is that they will engage in combat too and not do fleet support. Far to offten they will move in closer to the battle and the enemy will wipe them out. I would rather they sit back and heal.
This is why I Replaced the Carriers Embargo in my mod with a heal bots of the Yoshiko. The Carrier took care of my fleets and healed them and could take a beating in the process and I did not have to spam those horrid little ships. Personally I found no usefulness for the Embargo, replacing it with the Healing effect is a far better way for the Carriers to support the fleet.
i havent noticed range issues because.... the ship is basically invincible. normal computer enemy, and pirates, about 40 ships in one of my planets without defenses. i sent in a level 2 titan... it lost shields, but decimated all enemies. drove it into a pirate base, right in the middle of all the turrets and let it go to work. by level six, i dont think this ship is destroyable if the person
Same here. I also noticed this last night when taking out the Pirates. The Titan would not engage the turrets until I made him get closer . The other Issues with this Cap ship is, he likes to try and Broadside its targets. this is ok, but the Beam arrays will not engage. the firing Arcs on the side mounts need to have a little more Fire Arc added to them.. the only way to use Beams is to turn the ship forward. You end up loosing a lot of fire power when having to
They're actually sized to be 50% of a scout...
Yarlen, I have to agree, the Loyalist Titan does seem a bit odd shaped. the length of the ship should be a bit longer to give it a better look. I felt it looked Fat and chubby. not what I was expecting from the videos and screen shots seen earlier. I was playing with some friends last night and we all came to the same conclusion. the Rebel
OK, here are my observations and issues we encountered after a four hour long game with the AI. Played as Loyalist. The titan ship, it always tries to broadside when its fighting. I personally do not like this, because when he does he losses the Beam weapons. they will not fire when hes broadsiding a larger target like a starbase. that's a lot of firepower that's being lost. there needs to be a change to the firing Arcs so they will at least fire the two si
Yes, it can but I don't have a problem with that. Later in the game I was in an enemy territory and he had his Starbase leveled up a few levels. and I had a lot of trouble trying to take out the Starbase with just the Titan. According to Stardock, Titan should be able to take out a Starbase. not so true. Again, I was able to rid me of the Pirate filth, but it was not easy by no means. the Pirates had a lot of ships there that were causing all kin
Um, english please!! But I know what hes saying, he had an issue when you try to set your Titan to use right click auto leveling of a skill on the ship. the game will crash immediatly when you try to activate it.
Hey, I have to retract this posting. We figured out what was causing the issues. thankfully it was not the beta. The one friend wh owas getting desynced, well he didnt realize that he still had his VPN on. so he was being routed through Dallas then over to Little Rock and then back to Texarkana. So after he turned off the VPN all was well. In fact we played a 4 hour game against the AI and it ran smoothyl, no slow downs or pauses. I do have is
Hi, We just tried playing a three player game against 2 AI. All three of us were the Loyalist and the Two AI were the Rebels. Both games with in 10 mins kept desyncing. No idea why. We tried Direct Connect and IC online. Each time the same player was the only one to desync. Sounds coincidental, that only the one player was having this issue. I can not account for anything else. Just reporting. if there is somethng that is needed
I have never been a fan of game's manager clients and serices. Impulse was an exception for me and I liked it no more or less than Steam. However, I liked the game well enough to use it. Same with Rebellion. Steam is not something I "like" having on my comp but I can turn it off anytime I want and it does offer a lot of functionality. Guys, they have to make a profit. Steam isn't an insult or slight
Quoting Draakjacht, reply 6 Just call me paranoid. You're paranoid
thank you, I was going to say the same thing. Ive been using Steam since day one. and not once have I ever had issues with my games or personal files or info getting hacked or whatever these paranoids are think is going on. To me, this is a pitiful excuse to not use Stea
All I can say is that this is your lose, As for Steam being a very bad digital delivery platform. well you could sure fool me. I've been using Steam since day one. and I have not once experienced an issue downloading or playing a game. now if you really want to talk about a bad gaming del;ivery platform, lets talk about Origin or GFWL. Origin being the worst of the two. I have no idea what your issues are, but I think this is more of a knee jerk reaction on y
I know some of you are already tinkering around with the files. You know you all cant resist the temptation of doing it.
I'm a very defensive minded player too. but I will expand my territory out and take about 5 or 6 planets and then defend those areas until I'm ready to move on. usually I need ot get my resources under control and research going good. then Igo on the attack. So I know exactly how he feels. but i don't play against other players either. I'm a AI oriented player. I like playing those kinds of games better.
got mine coooking now, woohoo!!
Personally I would like for the AI to stop building so damn many frigates and start building more Capships to have large scale Capitalship battles. Its all those frigates that cause the lag.
I pre-ordered mine over a year ago. Ive been waiting for the beta anxiously and now that time is getting close. I have no issues at all with Steam, Ive been a steam user since its conception. I have never once had any issues with it working. and its a far better system then most others out there. one being Origin. Its easy to patch, and easy to reinstall your game. inviting friends to a game is a snap. I can not understand why many are so hell bent about thi
I am not having Steam on my pc, so it looks like I'll have to cancel my pre-order. What a shame a great game like this has gone belly up.
If you want to complain about using a Clint to play your games in, then complain about EAs Origin. that is a big piece of shit program. Ive been using Steam since it was released many years ago. I own at least 100 games with steam, and not once ha
Does anyone else feel that the Kols front Cannons need to be changed to be more in line with the way the Star base Beam Arrays are? I don't like how there are Four cannons that should only be able to fire in a direct line but they do not. they can fire in a 180 degree arc. To me, those Cannons need to be replaced with the ones on the Star base the U shaped ones to better match its firing arcs. those would be better looking I think. anyone else disagree?
