As a shameless HoL abuser - The Heart is extremely powerful for its price, and as mentioned, this has more to do with the flavor and rhythm of the game than tactical application. It strips out strategic considerations like resupply the same way pre-release warpstone (at 1500g price and 20 meter range) stripped out considerations like positioning. All they had to do to make positioning a consideration again was raise the price on Warpstone. Suddenly you weren

He is absolutely convinced hes hot shit. Every time he chases them back I pray to god he dies without getting a kill, I figure eventually he will learn his lesson. um, if he's consistently getting the kills then why not do it? The OP is a pretty shallow rule. Something like "if the opp team gets 7/0 kills on level 5 DGs then I know we will lose" makes more sense. You can be down 10 kills on level 1 DGs and it won't make much difference. 5 kills on level 5 DGs is a big deal though..
You end up feeding because you end up getting ganked 3 on one, and they call you a feeder(rightfully, I was a feeder, but only because I rarely got the support I needed).
It's a bit offtopic, but I see this alot. You can do things with skilled allies that work because they back you up and when you try them with an average pickup group they end up killing you and making you look like the worst kind of noob..

I'd add some caveats - 1. make sure the people on your team don't know how to play before you start telling them what to do. 2. In terms of overall strategy you can get things done by asking questions most of the time - "who is getting the gold upgrade?" "I have 7k gold, should I get upgrades or more gear?" "Shall we get giants now?" If you don't get any answer to a polite question then you won't get a better response fro

So I had a (polite?) thread up addressed to GPG that got nuked. I didn't check it past reply 10 or so, so I don't know what happened, but if some of the replies were the issue then maybe next time delete the replies and let the post live? If the post was the issue I'd love to know how [e digicons]o_O[/e] To the repliers - if you got my thread nuked by flaming the devs please try to be more placid this time round ^^ To recap:

We've hit the point where you need to triage or the patients will start to die. This is what I'd focus on in your position. You want a long tail on Demigod? You need to bring in Replays and a player Modkit /support ASAP. By ASAP I mean by the end of June. You can put balance and content on hold - nothing too gamebreaking at the moment and by the time your fixes are in no one will be playing. Focus on
a kiting/harassing/dancing playstyle deliberately overexposes for very brief periods of time to get in opportunistic attacks and then withdraws back to safety before bad things happen. you loathe conflicts on open ground because you can't adequately defend yourself if you need to. a tanking/creeping/pushing playstyle works to slowly advance the line of safe vs. overexposed. you're perpetually fighting on the edge of your team's safe zone and if left alone you'l
Oak don't dance.
I like it, I use it, and in 1v1 it works. Does Oak need to kite in a 1v1? Not unless he's built around minions. Most oaks are melee tanks and support. Does Oak need to consider exposure though? Of course, especially if he has nearby allies he has to think about their exposure as much as his own. Insisting on an immovable object build might not kill you but it can place your allies in jeopardy and shielding them mean

I don't actually think we are disagreeing with each other here - I just don't think you understand what I'm getting at. That's why I wish I could show you, rather than having to write it all out. In any case I'll edit the main post at some point to be more clear. Transitive is very diplomatic, but the fact is that Zechnophobe is completely right -

Positioning is so important, because it wins and loses more games than any other single mechanic in Demigod. Anyone can attack. As proof I will point out that even the simplest nubcake can hit your DG with his. But how and when you move to attack or retreat, where you are in relation to other players and the map environment - these things are what separate the newbies from the average from the skilled players. We'll take a look at r

So you think you got your Oak down? Well then I'm cordially inviting you to bring it for a no-holds-barred 1v1 Oakduel. Rules as follows: 1v1 Conquest, Prison Map, Default settings (unless otherwise agreed by both parties) I don't get to play as often as I'd like, so rather than set a timeline just add a comment here, keep this post in your mind and next time you see me in IRC or game lobby we'll wrassle When y
That's not the same point I'm making. People were complaining that Snipe was overpowered because you could gib another player in one shot. That's NOT what I am talking about. I am talking about multiple Regulus spread out and controlling multiple lanes while they can still all support each other with Snipe from across the map. I've explained it in several posts. To be frank, the insta-gib is a fairly easy concept to grasp. I'm talking about the strategic value of Sni

Wow, this is fun. I'm gonna point you guys back here just for posterity - http://forums.demigodthegame.com/335732 . A few general thoughts - A team of Generals will beat a team of Regs, if teams have equal skill. On larger maps in 4v4 or more it's not a disadvantage to have more than one Reg, but bad to have more than two. In skilled games Snipe Regs are more useful, as Chrome Wease

Hi Bara, Liking the graphs [e digicons][/e] It looks like you guys stopped tracking custom games data entirely? I understand they don't count for ranked matches or experience any more, but have you stopped keeping records of the games? Like my Custom game stats show me with 52 Custom games. They deffinately need to add more 2v2 maps though because crucible is awful (for reasons you didn't mention) and cata
