It's not like with RA we won by squeezing by. I made a bunch of mistakes with my timed explosives as well. That was actually the first time I tried it. It was by a landslide once RA was up. As you saw, once he had RA, there was nothing they could do. Obviously, if you shut it down ahead of time, you "beat" it. However, the statement that you people seem to be making is that RA, even when it's really goind, isn't a big deal. When you get it, and you get your fleet size to match you

If it were only him he was so confused, it would be OK. Unfortunately he's 'teaching' other people these completely wrong things. Also, we don't want the devs to even look at this because it's completely 100% untrue. I really don't enjoy playing games where my partner is convinced his disciples will be able to own the enemy's LRMs. Moreover, [MAGOG]Kruelgor's arrogance and attitude of "I'm right, you're all wrong! all of you!!" looks deliciously tempting to trample
I knew you would back out. I tell you what. Here's what I will do. The next time I stop an LRM spammer I will save the replay and show it to you.
How can someone so completely ignorant to the mechanics of the game be so arrogant? You're the one backing out of my 1v1, imposing your fantasy land restrictions. These restrictions would never happen in a normal game. I tell you what, we'll play both. We'll do one game your way, and one mine.

RA is extremely imbalanced. Innociv was convinced it wasn't a great strat either until HuntingX and I played him 2v2 on a medium random map. This was in 1.02 mind you, where the black market wasn't as easy to abuse as now. I was TEC and I fed HuntingX money. He got RA and completely bulldozed innociv and his partner. Seriously, once you get RA, if you know what you're doing, it's GG. Obviously if you just get it as they're coming to raze your planets, that's a different story.

[MAGOG]Kruelgor, it's good to discuss ideas and strats, but you've already been completely prooven wrong. Stop arguing. I really don't want people to actually think they can stop an LRM spam with disciple spam. It just won't work. I've played enough games where I had a teammate who attempted this and died miserably leaving me 1v2 right off the bat as he couldn't defend himself from an initial LRM rush from one person. Go through some of the stickies in the developer journal. You wi
mother ship kicking off shield regen and they win big time.
what's going to stop him from FF your mothership and then retreating when it's dead? I agree that defense vessels do work, but they take a long time to kill. Their main strength is that they can't really be killed by LRMs. But that's moot if the player doesn't even target your defense vessels in the first place. LRM's main strength is that they quickly take down cap ships and structures.
The L

A lot of people draw conclusions immediately after

OK seriously... I just mentioned how LRM's still beat light frigates and this gets posted https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/304529/page/1/#1653365 Are they intentionally trying to confuse newcomers to Sins? If you're new to this game, know that LRM > light frigs > flak > LRM. Sure, it's not quite that simple, and LRM has a lot more utility than the other ships, but this is currently the golden rule in the game.
This thread has to be a joke.
No, I think he's quite serious. Rexus was even quoting some MAGOG clan stuff when he was screaming at me how great disciples are against LRM's yesterday. No matter how hard I tried to be civil and tell him he's wrong, he refused to listen to reason.

See, this is the EXACT thing I'm addressing https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/304456 LRMs kill light frigs period. Obviously, if you completely outnumber the LRMs with your light frigs you'll win, but against a competent player, that's not going to happen. Please stop spreading your brand of 'truthiness'. Test it against good players before concluding it as a valid counter. I just had a game last night with a guy named Rexus who was utterly convinced that discip

Advent is a little weird. Their big showstopping power comes from levelling their cap ships. Malice + brilliance = lots and lots of pain for them. It may even result in wiping out their entire fleet. By that means, you almost want them to keep attacking you while you stay on the defensive. That way, you get some very nice experience for your ship as long as they don't kill you. They're the toughest race to play well and their end game research is not nearly as good as the other rac
the whole point was to make it easier, not to add another task I must periodically complete. If I turn off the autocast, I'll probably forget to do it for a few minutes while I'm microing... better to leave it on and scoop up the RA ships like normal
What they should do is not have it autocast when you have max fleet. It wastes the antimatter and cooldown timer and you get no units. It's because of this that I do it manually.

I think there is one thing that is slightly misleading and it also depends on personal perception. That is, that the game is advertised as a "real time 4X" game For many people, when they think of a 4x game, they think of MoO 1/2, gal civ, etc. That is, games that give you really really huge tech trees, custom ships which use the various "ingredients" you've gained from reseach, and advanced diplomacy. These games have tremendous amounts of strategy because there's a heck of a lot of
Inability to balance this game for both single player and multiplayer is a simple fact of logic. You cannot balance this game when played by the AI and at the same time, when played by people.
Disclaimer: I am a game developer for EA (yes, a hated company...) and I do have to deal with issues like balance and things like that in various games. That said, unit balance is NOT mutually exclusive to good AI. I have no idea where you're getting this from. The point

While not nearly having the same level of differences as Starcraft, there are many things about each faction, beyond shuffled tech trees, that make them unique. Many of these only become apparent once you learn the mechanics of the game. Keep in mind that the capitol ships are totally different for each race, save their general role. Some differences -Advent has the best unit combos. Their support ships serve to disable enemies as well as keep your ships alive for a long

Q doesn't select everything in the grav well; it casts the returning armada skill for the currently selected phase gate. Q, W, E, R, T A, S, D, F, G each button maps to the corresponding position in the UI for the selected unit. For example, for all ships, f is fleet mode (i think). A is attack, Q colonize for colony ships, etc etc.

I don't remember the exact numbers for hull/shield/armor/etc for the LRM. Regardless, my LRM's are most certainly not loosing to light frigs! Furthermore, their main asset, their incredible damage, is unchanged that much I know.
