It should be running off the newest ruleset, I believe (i don't really follow dnd... is it 3.5?). Dragon Age is not DnD game. Bioware/EA does not have rights to do DnD games so they make their own rules. But honestly I am not expecting much from DA, i have my NWN2+

Yes, pick it up. Space Rangers 1 was one of my favourite single player games I've ever played. SR2 is pretty good too, but doesn't offer as much new content & gameplay as I hoped aside from the love-it-or-hate-it RTS mini-games (I hated it).

Also, if you're looking for a game like that to play right now, have you tried Neverwinter Nights 2 + xpacs? It's got a huge campaign, tons and tons of classes - including epic classes - and just so much to do. In terms of dialogue, I still think Biow

If you've ever worked in a non-creative environment (read: very management heavy), you'll have undoubtedly run into some of the people characterized in the Dilbert comics. Makes you kinda want to shoot yourself.

I think one of the main reasons why DoTA fans are unhappy is partly because we're a bit too conservative. We're used to the aspects that made DoTA pros "pros". Things that would contribute to this would include (apologies for jargon - just ask if something's not clear) -last hits/creep denies -map awareness** -effective jungling (basically not participating in the normal lane squirmishes and just killing neutrals. for example, TB i

No harm in speculating though :D In all seriousness, if we can keep discussions civil regarding demigod vs dota comparisons, the threads can be very constructive for GPG/stardock. On the one hand, they're trying to make the game more mainstream. However, I'm pretty sure they don't want to alienate DoTA players and would like Demigod to be attractive to them. I used to be a very hardcore dota player (you can probably tell) and most hardcore dota fans I know who tried

Right now it's obvious that if you are to think that the meager ability tree is the key to customization, I'm afraid you've been mislead. The ability tree ultimately doesn't do much to personalize your Demigod, and in the course o

Plus they plan on adding more demigods eventually. How many maps does Dota have? Are there capturable flags in Dota? Are there Generals? To sum up, Demigod is new and while the number of demigods is likely to never reach the high 90s, there will be more as well as other updates to the game to

From what you've described, I'd say yes and no. Yes, because Stardock is putting in a single player campaign where you build you character. No, because in the end, it still feels like an rts but you control a single hero (unless you're a general - no one outside of stardock has tried those classes yet) You mentioned you have played dota. I'd highly recommend you try it out. If you don't want to shell out cash for wc3+frozen throne, you can always use hamachi instead

I think the point of this would be as a backlash for disruptive drm. I have no problem with non disruptive drm and i agree that copyright infringement is bad for the developers in general. However, what I hate even more is politics that use psychology to try to implant certain presumptions into people's heads. I don't believe DRM truly exists because they assume all customers are thieves. In fact, the disruptive DRM is probably mainly targeting second hand sales (and also making th

I would encourage this. The name of something holds a lot of psychological sway in people's minds When copyright infringement was called copyright infringement, nobody cared. Then they changed it to piracy and also called it theft when neither are technically correct. Because of that play on words, it became much more serious. (That said, I don't think copyright infringement is good, but I don't like to mince words either). Changing it from digital righ

Keep in mind that DRM isn't to completely stop hardcore pirates - there's no stopping them short of creating a great online experience tied to cd-keys. The reason for all the DRM is to 1) stop casual piracy 2) stop second hand sales 3) try to stave off the inevitable hardcore pirates as long as possible (ideally for the first week after release) Most games fail the third point - especially big name titles.
