Yup - both are my accounts. I wanted to get galciv a while back and was locked out of my account because I put the wrong password in too many times. Soooo, I just made a new one.

Disclaimer: this is not about getting a refund on the game - that has been discussed and the thread has been closed. Is it possible to move games between accounts? I currently have two accounts - one which I bought the galciv and all its xpacs with and another which has sins of a solar empire and demigod. What do I need to do to move the games between the accounts or at least consolidate them?

So far everyone has been discussing my first two questions. I think it's pretty clear now what the answer is and it's essentially in stone. I'm glad that Brad makes a case for 100% refund if you haven't played the beta yet, but I really wish he would he advertised that somewhere. For me, I genuinely wanted to preorder to get on the mailing list. I don't have time to babysit when a game is coming out and I wanted to be alerted as soon as it was available. The beta
Stardock doesn't say you are buying beta software. It says you are download and / or retail box for Demigod. The beta is shown as a limited time offer and not presented as what you are buying. All in all Stardock is wrong from what I can see and read. Fanboys aside if this was Gamestop people would be flipping out. Not to mention since only a few people are effected by this and feel so strongly about it, it's just good customer service at th
However, you generally get your money back when cancelling pre-orders and as I said earlier, the beta was merely a pre-order perk.I meant to qoute this in my other post . . but . .oh well. The pre-orders I've participated in did not actually provide a working game. They were jsut a pre-order to be "first-in-line". I think that makes this a bit unique.
You do have a point there, but in add
...General nerdrage...
Yes they do offer a 75% refund, which is still better than 0%. I'm arguing for 100% refund. I should have checked their refund policy more carefully so yes, that was my fault. However, you generally get your money back when cancelling pre-orders and as I said earlier, the beta was merely a pre-order perk. As far as "closed beta" or "open beta" is conc

A Beta is not worth 45$. A retail copy is worth 45$. Closed Beta is normally free. Demi-god's beta was simply a perk of pre-ordering - you're money not supposedly going towards the beta but the retail. Thus, because no retail product has been released yet, there should be full refunds. A the gamer's bill... don't get me started on that pr stunt....

I'm glad you you enjoy the game and have confidence in it danw. However, whether or not you enjoy the game, I find it absurd that they're charging FULL RETAIL PRICE for the beta and offering no refunds. I've never even heard of a company charging for beta. That doesn't even make sense - there's no product yet! I mean, in the worst case scenario, what if they decide to cancel the game? I contacted [email protected]. They said they can issue 75% b

Yeah - Again though, I'm not here to put down the game. It could very well be great. However, if they're going to accept full retail payment for a non-retail game... isn't that bad ethics? Why bother even releasing the game then? They've already secured payment. (that was a rhetorical question, btw - obviously not all potential customers are on pre-order...)

98 Replies 240,843 Views

When the game was first announced, I was quite excited about the possibilities the game would offer and signed up for a pre-order. However, I would now like to cancel that pre-order and get my money back. I have heard this is not possible. Why is this the case? We have not purchesed a product yet. This is not retail yet, it's beta. All we've done is set aside some money for a product that will eventually be delivered - whether that promise holds true or n

PC games aren't dying at all. There's a paradigm shift in PC games, however. More than ever, PC games are being purchased as digital content. Retail sales figures generally don't account for this. Not only that, but subscription based revenue also makes up a huge chunk of the pie (consider WOW and other MMOs). "Hardcore games" aside, another extremely profitable venture are the more casual oriented games. They're incredibly accessible, run on most specs (due to the casual games gen
I remember one of the Stardock crew was kind enough to point out that Sins was a bit like Total Annihilation but in space. Now I'm probably going to buy it anyway because its a Stardock title. But whats the deal here?Is it like Warcraft 3 or something, except with bigger Hero's?P.S I hated Warcraft 3, Warcraft 2 was a classic. But with W2 you created units and sent them to battle, you focused on the strategic situation. How the war as a whole played out rather than individual units. But

Can't say I'm surprised (if) Drex and Cykur have left. I mean, we were basically inactive for what... 4 months? That said, I'm hoping if we become active again, they'll rejoin. But in the end, it's all just a game :) I am most likely very bad at Sins now, as the last time I played was one of our clan matches.

I've posted this "exploit" in several threads before this one (one thread was on people complaining about other ppl leaving games - I posted that if they wanted to pad their record with wins they 'ought' to have, they can just do this) However, I hardly feel that this is an exploit. It's a design bug, yes, but it doesn't break the game and thus not an exploit. All it does is decrease what would take 5 minutes to 1 minute (remember, you still have to load and go through all the front e

@Ke5trl Advent is the best scout rushing race because their scouts are the cheapest (matched with TEC) and the most durable. You actually only need 4 scouts, 6 if they're turtling. 6 scouts can easily kill the constructurs EVEN if they have 2 turrets and 2-4 disciples. Scout rushing is also possible against Vasari. If you immediately build 4 scouts and them hit them ASAP (provided you're no more than 3-4 jumps away), there's still a somewhat good chance that they hadn't buil
Ke5trel, I understand if this wouldn't make it onto the post, but I have one strat in mind. I made a post a while ago where I said rushing TEC bomb ability is great and can work. I've changed it a lot since then. What I've come up with is a strat that will work for all races, but works best with Advent.Follow the standard opening (Up home, cap factory, mines, scouts, yadda yadda yadda)Instead I buy only 100 crystal and sell 300 metal (200 if Vasari). I get the cap colonizer and I'm techin

I just have to say, Brad, I have so much respect for you. The fact that you're one of the guys on the team who pulls all-nighters doing code, and at the same time, does the producer roles + much of the marketing is really amazing. I'm sure the people at your company must feel lucky as hell to be working for you. To top this all off, you still manage to spend some time each day to visit the forums and make posts! I sincerely hope Stardock becomes a juggernaut in PC gaming. You guys really de

Yup, end game, they can have 30+ dps thanks to the carrier's field. without cap ship support, and excluding their dps aura, they still get high 20's dps.

RA hasn't really been nerfed. It's still just as overpowered as it was before. People are complaining about Advent because they now have quite easily the strongest long range unit in the game. RA is especially OP in 2v2 or 3v3 games where one guy tech rushes to RA and the other players feed him cash. With this strategy, I managed to get RA up in 15 minutes - about the amount of time they took to get a couple heavy cruisers/small fleet of illums. Yeah we won.

A couple points Kol - Gauss is a very good skill and not a waste of antimatter. Don't leave on autocast and always shoot enemies that haven't been targeted yet. Burst damage is should only be used when the enemy shield mitigation hasn't gone up yet. With finest hour, the skill becomes highly spammable and you should basically just be gaussing all their non-damaged ships Akkan - ION bolt is a very good skill and definately not a waste of antimatter. My goodness, this game is SO incredibly fun, I can't stop smiling while I'm playing it. It's just so satisfying to throw stuff and watch ensuing chaos. Games like these are why I purchased a Wii. It's nice that these kind of games are finally coming out. Anyone else picked up this game yet?
