Hi again.. Yeah, ive saved the game after I made the new ship.. I also designing 3 other ships with various ranges just to try and update the same ship to the new models, but the actual range remained the same for the ship... Worth noting is that this is not only happening to one ship.. all my ships have the same problem. Im not sure what you mean with a new name... the old design is called Freighter 2, and the new design is Freig

Alright, im playing a game on the largest galaxy size, my territory is located in the lower left of the map and ive come to a stage where I am sending out Freighters to start trading. Now the thing is that I have one freighter with maximum range of 10 sectors (or whatever the unit is).. I reached the maximum range of the ship but the race I wanted to trade with was still out of reach. So I decided to replace the two engines on my freigther with li
Yeah, just yesterday I saw a Drengin freighter with no components except a large trade module sticing out of the left cockpit more or less.. looked super silly.. if they cannot design ships in a symetric way maybe they should use the default ones
Wow, noone has any opinions whatsoever on this?
Hi there! First of all I just wanted to say its a great game, just bought it three days ago and downloaded and im having good fun playing after work However I have a few things I want to point out; When im inside the planet window I can see "ships in orbit", but as far as I 've noticed there is no way for me to see the names of the ships in orbit. For exampl
Well, I remember when I first joined (I was in the GalCiv beta) and I asked a similiar question and got a reply from Frogboy. It seems that the current coding of the the poll only allow a limit number of options to choose from (4 I think). So they cant add for example 10 diffrent options to choose from due to the limit of the code. So they have to pick the ones they think is most suited.
To go back to the first question. Beeing good or evil matters alot. If your a good civ the other good civs will help you, in war they send ships or even declare war on your enemy to assist you. However evil civs dont get along that well, if your weak and evil other evil (and good) civs will declare war on you. If your strong and evil a good civ might attack you, and its highly likely that the other evil civs will also declare war on you to get a part in the spoils. Good civs cooperate,
Anyone can make an honest misstake ;) No hard feelings :)
Well, everything is in order now and everyone is happy ;)
Alright, lets get something sorted out here... I was just in and checked the website where you hosted my Eventpack... If your hosting an event pack that isnt yours, please, dont change the name on it.. Saint and sinners? the name of the event pack is "Nidros Event Pack 1", not "Saints and sinners". It doesnt just contain moral choices, its everything from economic to planet quailty events. It does NOT make it easier to become good or evil. Your very welcome to host it, but do
Thanks =)
Thanks :) Glad someone liked it! :CONGRAT:
Cari, your one year to late im afraid ;)
Nidaros your empire is by invitation only, are you planing to open it for anyone interested?
Oh.. hmm.. Im not sure :) As I said, I dont pay that much attention to Metaverse or Empires any longer. But I like to have some control on who joins so I think ill stick with invite only :) Im usually in the chatroom #galciv in SDC so people can reach me there, but I dont recruit the way other empires do :)
Well, that might be true if you look at the dates;) However, the story is that.. I actually created Imperia Galactica before the 23/3, It was a solo empire for several days, but then they updated Metaverse and we had to resubmit the empires, I think it had to do with the empires logos or something. I was a bit late to resubmit for some reason, dont remember why at this time, but its still the oldest :) It might be hard to prove unfortuntaly, but that doesnt matter, as long
You know what? My empire is the oldest in the galaxy, just check the colonization date of it and compare :)
Nah, just stay away from empires altogether, they just make you a point-chaser and you'll loose interest in the game. Thats what happend to me, I was more concerned about the score than actually having fun while playing! So, Say No To Empires! LOL
For starting picks I usually take max reasearch (50% I think) and then military production for the rest. I bet there are some "optimal" choices out there, but ive abandoned that a long long time ago. These days I play for roleplaying and strategy purposes, I think out how I want my race and what kind of "attitude" I want against the other empires, and then play after that. I too was a point chaser before (about 8 or 9 months ago), but that part of the game lost its beauty to me :)
So,RL = Real Life, maybe you can laugh a bit with us now? LOL
whats RL? hmm, I have a vague memory that it was something I used to have... thinking... ah, nevermind, cant have been anything important. LOL
Just hoped you purchased before that downloading thing ;) Just kidding LOL Welcome to the addict club! /Andreas
Hehe, anytime.. though.. im not exactly sure what I did that was helpful LOL
Several times when I played the Survey Ship has been the most powerful ship in my fleet.. outgunning overlords and avatars. If I remember correctly, I had a Survey Ship with something like 150 attack and 80 defense. Thats what I call a well-armed science ship LOL
Greetings! Well, I have Win XP (Just did a fresh install of XP as well) and I have no problems whatsoever. You might already have tried this but ill say it anyway.. :) One thing you could try is inserting the cd into the drive, hold down ctrl+shift so the cd wont autorun. Release ctrl+shift after a few seconds (10-15 or so). Enter Explorer and go down to the cd-rom drive icon, on the cd is a file called "setup", double-click it and you will start the installation of GalCiv.
