Izzo, if I could make maps for Demigod there would be more content, therefore modding == more content.

So what? You want it to be 2v1? What's the point of that? By making the AI worth nothing you're at least giving the person on his own a chance. You make it sound like the AI charging at you and dying over and over is somehow useful to the other guy, it's not, you know as well as I do you can kill an AI player in a couple of bursts because they're terrible and they buy crap items rather than health stacking. There is no situation where I would trade a human ally for an AI, because the AI simpl
Don't play crucible.
Great, so you can play from the other side of the world, I haven't had that experience in any online game, from TF2 to Demigod. Suffice to say my results vary from yours. I am also yet to have anyone from that far away join my lobby with less than 400 ping.
Make an expandalone then. ... God I hate that word. More seriously, the purpose of the xpack would be to get a re-review, which will bring in players, whereas DLC won't get the publicity of a review from all the major gaming sites. It's a broader issue, but people associate money with quality in many cases, so by giving something away for free people are less likely to consider it valuable than if you sold it as an expansion pack. For all the hate for what GPG
si1foo, I never understand your posts, but here's an attempt. Ping a Euro server from Australia, it will be well over 350 in 90% of cases. 350 is the stated net_lag value for this game, so I use that as my cutoff when selecting people to play with. I think your definition of "zero lag" is different to mine. I don't hate Eurpoean people, but the simple fact is that we can't connect to each other withut suffering latency issues, so I choose not to play with them, and most of the time th
Herodotus, Having an auto banlist doesn't actually change anything for the person being kicked, it just saves effort on the host's part. If someone screws my game up by RQ, lagging, or sim-lagging, I'll make a note of their name and kick them if they join my lobby. An automated feature just makes this process easier. If I don't want to play with someone, I'm not going to be forced to, and I don't need to give any reason for it other than "because I say so" since I am hosting a game. O
Should be like the supcom system, with people able to play in a 2v2 ladder and a 3v3 ladder independant of the other stuff for random play, like current pantheon. Premades can go there and play against other premades, everyone has more fun that way. To solve Mya's issues, we need personal banlist/ignore lists that communicate with the matchmaker.
Option #2: get modding tools out asap so we can make the content ourselves. And RE: Starcraft 2; it has no specific demographic, nearly every gamer is going to try it out for a while. During the first few weeks after the SC2 release EVERY game is going to take a hit in player numbers. I don't think that many people will stick with SC2 as a long term game if they are into DG, since SC is more of a hectic paced clickfest, but theres no denying the period where people are playing SC2 is
An indirect way to get a re-review is to release an expansion pack.
I don't have the patience to type out an explanation of how Euros joining AU/NZ games are going to lag things up. You're not going to get a kick reason from many hosts simply because they have to kick a large number of people before the lobby is full of people with workable connections, and to type out to each and every one of them why they're being kicked would waste everyone's time. If you have high ping to someone just leave, don't offer or bother with pleasantries, its easier if y
I think no gold reward and a small xp reward for killing the AI. You can't control when it goes off on its merry feeding run, so you can't exactly coordinate this "free harassment" you're concerned about. The other team gets a free ride because they're no longer going to be fighting against 2 human players, how much more advantage do you want? In fact I'm not even sure its free harassment, considering how fast I can kill an AI when I play, they spend most of their time respawn
You can view the Occulus mesh already. Its still only placeholder art though. The "Whiptail" and "Ent" from that thread are the Catapaultosaurus and shambler respectively.
Most poeple join the custom games I make as a pair, so even if you're not playing against 3 people in a premade, theres a very good chance some portion of their team is. One thing it does do is raise the standard of play, at least.
I've played with a 1.8GHZ laptop with an 8600 mobile without issue in 3v3 Cataract, so if your desktop is unable to handle the game its going to need to be well under $300. You can buy a good cpu for $100, graphics card like a 4850, 2gb of ddr2 and a cheap mobo for ~$300 without too much issue I think. And yes I'm going to discriminate against people with poor simspeed, just like I discriminate against rage quitters and any other brand of tard that joins my game. They go on my list of
"Hall of Shame" thread is evidence enough that this kind of thing DOES belong on the forums.
The lag really breaks things, pounce has 0.3 sec cast iirc, plus 0.35 second net_lag, for a 2 sec ability gives you a window of 1.35 seconds tor eact to someone casting and interrupt. In the end its more about prediction and reaction for me, I've interrupted a huge number of spits simply because its blatantly obvious when people are going to do them, despite spit having a very small cast time. And I think you're wrong about people keeping pounce in reserve as an interrupt, I only leap
You don't kill speed stackers by stacking speed yourself, you kill them using slows and stuns, of which Sedna has neither. If both your opponents are speed stacking you'll need to work with your ally to burst them to death, or settle for lane dominance (speed stackers are squishy) I don't up inner grace nearly as much as you do in this build, I put the points into normal heal, taking a progression of something like pounce/heal/grace/pounce/heal/wind/pounce/heal. Taking BotF an
Demo should help.
err no heart of life in that item build. Not going to be able to tank more than 1 push...
That one gets some odd results, it's what was tried during beta. The exporter there was made by Obsidian for NWN, so the version of granny2 is 6, while DG runs on 7. If GPG don't make one available it may be possible to sustitute the 2.7 dll in and get things working, but it would no doubt require quite a bit of work.
So I had a play around looking at the map formats, and also took a look at an attempt from back in beta by another forumer that got some sort of result, but nothing usable in terms of custom map use in Demigod. I am wondering if there is ever going to be a GPG-released GR2 exporter so that we can convert a 3DS mesh/skeleton/anything else we need into a usable GR2 file to put into DG to play. I am guessing there are some license limitations associated with providing such a tool, so I a

UI mods are limited by what information is exposed by the UI interfaces, so cheating is unlikely. Retro there is a lot of balance discussion all over the forums and it seems to be noticed, eg Erebus nerf and HoL changes. The problem is that if you make a thread about balance you aren't guarunteed to get responses from experienced players, you may only get opinions from people who haven't been playing very long which makes the discussion less valuable to the devs. The general feeling s
I'm going to admit to not having read the entire thread, but I think the changes to HoL, an item that currently nearly everyone uses to replenish both health and mana constantly from the mid game onwards will greatly affect armor usage. Armor reducesthe amount of HP you need to recover after a fight, and without the magical mobile health crystal we all love to hate, this is actually going to mean something. Those saying auto attack is bugger all of the damage taken for most of the gam
