Is one called Len Baden? LOL
FuzzyMatrix
Don't worry, I know Zelda pretty well: it formed a part of my childhood. But a Zelda not made by Shigeru Miyamoto is somewhat a gaiden to me... (gaiden = out of the series, sorta apocryph)
The silly posts the better? Say this the fastest you can: TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO-TOMATO Besides, Zelda lying around, aren't you a little obsessed? shishh... My littl' sister may have Zelda lying around on the couch (McDonald doll). Too bad you don't go mcdonalding enough....
Thx Frog. Besides I just bought the Drengin package. LOL Anyone wants some freeeedom fries? Should be called corporate fries... [I assure my respect to Americans, whatever what their corporate leaders do. Poor Americans: very rich/very poor, criminality... politics done]
Hi, maybe it would be a good idea to explain the difference between Stardock and Drengin, since it seems both of them have subscriptions that include GalCiv... or is it the same thing?
Hey Brad, how many people are you on GalCiv?! You're the only one and you're involved with the community more than 99% of game's dev people are, but the rest of the team is ghost... Maybe you can put something about the team somewhere :p
Yah, it's in the economics' text: http://www.galciv.com/encyclopedia.asp?action=showpage&page=http://www.galciv.com/docs/undocs.html
I think 8 is what you get normally and +2 is coming from the bonuses you have. So if you'd get 16, you would get +4 with your bonuses maybe. I think I remember this from one of the texts in the encyclopedia (see links up there).
Besides, many "random" events I named have more chances to appear in certain situations.
Idea # ???: A minor civilization could have hidden something since a while or since its beginning. It could have a strong influence on other minor civilizations (maybe also major) like bringing some (maybe others also) minor civs to decide which way they take (going against or not...). What could have such an effect? Here's some events: 1- A minor civ doing something morally aweful and others may decide to cut relations with anyone staying on the minor civ's side. Like using females
1. SMAC (Alpha Centauri) 2. Age of Empires II 3. Civ 3 4. StarCraft 5. Age of Empires Hoping to put GalCiv in 1st rank :)
Well... I'm not sure I'd use credit card on the Internet so I'm looking at other alternatives. Frog, do you know if the CDs will get in shops on 26? Or can we pay per check? Which one is faster and how much time it'll take? And... congrat!!! LOL :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
The box is awesome. Sorry... that's all I can comment since it's all I experienced from the game LOL
It's not all that matters... If it sells loads and it's bad, it'll make loads of people believing MOO sery is bad. And it'll show on next selling curves since it'll have to rebuild its confidence...
Brad, if you guys don't find a single way to fix it completely, maybe some kind of pop-up with a "please do not put this pop-up again" could explain the thing to players who aren't awared as us.
Frogboy, say a great "wow" to the MOO3 team from me... There's little place left for fair and nice enterprises in our corporate era :( Guess there's not alot of people that believe enough in what they do as some programmers. Guess we wont need to wear hats written GalCiv on them ;p
mmmmm... Brad, I wonder if in reality diplomacy would do that. Wouldn't the payment be stopped from the moment the war is started (since you wont help the one at war with you) and then the payment would not continue for "continuing the war"? At least for a while after, no?... Do we have a historical case?
This is just a personal opinion and it should not prevail over others, but here how it is: In the new screenshots we got on the home page, there's one of them where it basically says "We are both evil, so we should go against the pacific guy". I just wondered how it would be said by some modern politic guy, and thought diplomacy could be less direct, like "The peaceful guy may cause some me problems with his orientations and may as well do same for you with his peacenik ideas." Whatta you th
Well the AI response is something that is already IN THE CODE. What I propose is something that is somehow independant from the present code so that it wont affect it in places it shouldn't. Changing it to "no thx" in the code would have counter-effects elsewhere.
Frog, I may look silly but how would this work: A pop-up would get out in certain circumstances written "This is a cheat!!!" Of course it could be more subtile... but some trick like this. Otherwise, simply making so that when it is a cheat, you wont even be able to offer the deal since some sort of "programmation exterior to the main code" wouldn't let you propose it, puting automatically your exchange back to a certain maximum that wouldn't be a cheat. Was I understood? F
Is there a separation between reality and public image, public relations having alot to do with it? Exactly like colonialists could have a great image, except in their colonies. They had alot of influence, saying they were "expanding the light of Occidental civilization" and such. Is there a differenciation between reality and image? Other than XIXth' colonialists, it's still perfectly true. It can change diplomacy, your people's tendancies and opinions, your influence and so on.
I may have a suggestion, but I am very little awared of technical limits: It should depend on 1- the value given to the exchanged thing (here = planet) 2- a certain limit to be diplomatically bad based on intelligence 3- the less planet they would have, the more value it would havr to them So as in reality, there would be a limit to be diplomatically screwed up. The worst I am awared ofin reality is Russia, when satellites were going away on their own way, said "We
Nice :) Are such things as economical/PR interests also considered?
Of course the three path are the official ones, no more... I would just like to notice also that the more the opponent is oppressive on others (economically, morally, etc.), the more the others WISH (and do if they can) to go against him. It's a VITAL variable of the diplomatic formula.
erm... I wrote Sweden but I meant Switzerland of course :p And I guess that to try to stay neutral is a third possibility after going on same side or against.
