There aren't just millions and billions of ships camping out, waiting to pour through your dozens and dozens of gates... right?
Actually... The Vasari "...once ruled over countless worlds. Beginning at the galactic core, the empire expanded uniformly, and brought hundreds of alien races under its control." Some of those alien races might have had empires of their own that were subsumed (ie: more than one world). The lore of the Vasari hints that their e

Returning Armada is more of a mind rape than anything else. It's really not all that... great. It helps, but it's nothing too spectacular. It's a pain in the ass, it can surprise you, and it's a solid ability - yes, but it's nothing too "uber". It's fine how it is currently implemented, imo. Hell, I don't even bother taking it until almost everything else is already had. It's not needed. The Kostura Cannon? Now there's a piece of shit. It's damage component seems negligible,
Anyone know??? My last try here.
Last try for IC/SD response? It's alot easier to get into the game when you know something more about the races ;) And innociv... gd dude, that's wrong ;p
Bah! :p And how do they talk? What is their homeworld like? Come on IC... you know you wanna tell ;)
Aww... come on, IC... throw me a bone here!
A gigantic cloud of nanites that have developed a fully sentient AI that has networked them all together as one vast computer that is hell bent on assimilating the universe one molecule at a time?
Just curious here, but where are the Vasari's mouths? All of the artwork for them seems to neglect them. Most of the pictures have ridge-like metallic fittings all over their faces, one of them has the ridge-like features being seemingly organic (part of the face), and another... actually seems to have a mouth, but it's a large gaping hole and comes on a chin which hangs much further down than the rest of the Vasari featured in the artwork. Soooo... what's the story on their mouths? H
Now it's time to fly back to the Regeneration Bay/Repair Cloud, fly by while the ol' nanites patch things up, and then head out for the next attack pass.
I've never actually stopped to look... Regeneration Bays don't actually waste their anti-matter on strikecraft... do they? Because in game terms that would just be stupid, and I do believe I would shit a brick. I micromanage most of my repair bays in battle in any case (most of the time)... but dear god, if I fi
subverters are insanely powerful. there's really only one counter to them: spread the heck out! you'll have to micromanage your ships to prevent them from clumping (which is their natural behavior, since clumps are the most efficient at focus firing). if your fleet is spread apart a subverter warp bubble can only disable 2 or 3 ships at most and its no big deal, the subverter itself is a sitting duck after it jumps. if on the other hand you leave your whole fle
The Vasari are also just damned tough. They get some pretty good hitpoint % increases, and good repair rates as well. Two of their highly useful ships (Skirmishers and Enforcers) can also retreat, and initiate a self-repair feature that rapid repairs them, then get right back into the fray. They are powerful offensively with weapons upgrades, and they have supreme mobility. No longer will you have to pick and choose a few worlds to defend. Put down some Phase Stabilizers and you can def
I am sorry that this thing seemed to post 5 times... it was unintentional. Originally it posted before I was even finished typing my message (this is the edited version); apparently it posted multiple times on top of posting before I was finished. So, once again, I am sorry for the multiple post. I dont know wtf happened, and I cannot find a way to delete them. Regards, Itharus
Do any tech-saavy people around here know exactly what adjusting Ship Detail does? Like, what differences exactly, occur when you adjust it? I know it looks better on highest than it does on high, but I can't catch what it changes exactly. And secondly, which detail is going to more heavily tax my GPU when I turn it up: Ship Detail, or Ship Bump? I'm just curious as to which one is most taxing point for point, so I can choose which one to increase the most so I can have the best ratio
Turn as many of the graphics settings down as low as you can tolerate and make sure you've got a gig or two available for pagefile usage handy (you might need to adjust it's size up). Other than that... I dunno, you can try overclocking your system if you haven't already, but be sure you can keep it cool.
Are you actively fleeting these groups of ships, or letting auto-fleet do it's thing? If ships autofleet their way into a fleet, I've noticed sometimes they will wander. But if you select ships and fleet them "F, F", they have always stayed together for me. I'm pretty sure the problem lay with Auto-Fleet'd ships that auto-joined a fleet. Also, if your agression range is set to Gravity Well, they will go all the hell over the place within a planetary system. Local Area keeps them on a sh
--[DELETED]-- My bad, I just noticed the question was for multiplayer, I'll go take a peek and post again later when I find out.
Are the teams locked? If they are not locked... kill your friend, he may be the last obstacle between you and total victory. Welcome to the war.
HLPHades: I would love to see Volition acquire the rights... since really, it's their damn game. But they've been shut down every time they tried. They just dont have the resources... the franchise is worth a lot of money. And, yeah, where can you download FreeSpace 2 legally, from a reputable source? I know where my discs are at the moment (out of reach), but they can chill there, I'm in no rush. I wouldn't mind DL'ing FS2 if it's all legit though :)
As for multiplayer popuation in ICO... Can you play this game on Xfire (etc)? And can you directly host without going through a service? If so... that could explain it. I think most people would rather play a game of this type with friends they know they can get a good game out of, rather than with players of unknown quality who quite likely just want to frigate rush you and get another tick mark on their victory chart as fast as possible.
Me too man. when the game turned up the delivery guy said that will be £16.50 please. I was like you what I already paid via card over the internet? Vat and import tax he replied. What a rip off I replied!! I have ended up paying in excess of £46 for this game. I'm just glad it is such an awesome game!! Company's need to make the customer aware they will have to pay import tax on purchases from the United States.
Don't blame the company, or for that matter the USA... take
'Selling the rights' is worthless when the odds of anyone actually making a 90s-style space shooter are almost zero. It'd become an FPS or RTS, or maybe a really dumbed-down shooter. Hooray?
Space Shooter? You mean Space-Flight-Sim? There are PLENTY of people who would buy those games. If you notice - no good ones have been made in a while, just a number of cheap crappy knockoffs (really bad Star Wars games come to mind) - no one has captured the feel right since then (Fr

Alright, my two cents so far: First off, I dig the Vasari. That said, I too am having some issues with the new Black Market. I've grown rather accustomed to having a metal/crystal superiority (and credit inferiority), and being able to rapidly liquidate those assets (which is something I had to do frequently to counter seemingly lousy credit production values compared to my opponents). Currently - that is no longer anywhere near as feasible a solution as it used to be.
Hi Itharus! We're around quite a bit. We have fancy new Ironclad banners under our names now.
Right on! Can you tell me one thing that's driving me nuts? Where are the Vasari's mouths??? The little things drive me insane :\ LOL! And congratulations on a damn fine game w/ good backstory, good gameplay, good scale, and all around solidness :)
BigDogBigFleet: Don't despair man. Those are just... well, I can't type the word here or it wont post my reply, but I think you catch what I'm inferring. What ya wanna try, is find someone in the chat who's interested in a real game, with no rushing (unless it's an accident.. the lack of fixed start positions can make that happen sometimes). Though, yeah, some people will backstab you and rush anyway... it's just an unfortunate weeding process. What you faced are people who onl
