Yes the bonuses from multiple resource focusing trade centers stack. I do not believe there is a limit... I usually have three of them going at it over Ice Worlds, and it works fine. I've never tried more than three though so I am not 100%.
(not that you have to follow those to the letter...Dawn of War had some problems emulating Eldar being effective at all)
Man, what Dawn of War did to the Eldar made me cry. I mean... they didn't even give them access to their basic trooper... the Dire Avenger... COME ON!!! Hell, I'm putting off buying Soulstorm for fear of seeing how badly they butchered the Dark Eldar (possibly the most challenging, yet insanely badass when properly executed race in the tabletop game).<b
The Desolators can do some absurd damage with their phase missile swarm. Which, if you haven't tried it... couples very well with a Devastator's volatile nanites. Take 1 Devastator and 2 Desolators, let them all do a lil bit of damage, then volatile nanite cloud the enemy fleet, unleash staggered phase missile swarms... when the explosions start - they dont stop! It has this lovely little domino effect. Each exploding ship affected by volatile nanites damages it's immeadiate neighbors ;
I love this thread. Instead of people bitching about RA screaming that it's OP, they are actually sitting down and discussing how to beat it. Rock on guys, you just renewed my faith in the people here.
Hah! His name is the manual, sweet. I don't suppose it could be some sorta recruitment bot gone haywire? I've seen some pretty f*ck*d up things happen when the whole "bots gone wild" situation occurs(though not with this game yet).
Well, three things... Without a rating system, this is just gonna keep on happening. Sucks, but, it's how it goes. Also, win/loss on ICO can be deceiving... some people have a ton of wins just because a buddy decided to "surrender" when leaving a game, even if he intended to finish it on a load later. They surrender, you win. And lastly, just as chuck says... some people just "play to crush" (god, I miss Shadowbane)... and really do find thrashing newbs fun. It makes
The AI probably just devoted more resources to it's fleet instead of research. Barring that, check your settings, make sure you don't have him set to "unfair". Hard difficulty does not get any advantages, just a better AI. Unfair difficulty *does* give them more resources, but that's it (aside from better AI).
Huh. You sound like a typical whiney punk from World of Warcraft. That said, I will respond in a language that you are undoubtedly more comfortable with: "QQ more? kkthxbai!" That is all. You are dismissed.
Critters from below? The Orz!!!
How about a race like the Spemin from Starflight. Nothing is more entertaining than being insulted by something that looks like excrement with antennae sticking out of it.
Holy shit! Someone else who actually remembers StarFlight? Although, to be fair I only remember StarFlight 2 :( Still... wow. Never thought I'd see the day when someone brought up StarFlight :) Personally I would like to see an insectoid race introduced. Hopefully not just ano
the civil path that takes you to RA also gives you massive economic techs - access to Enslaved Labour and Improved Salvaging
Nope. Imperial Research Labs by the numbers give you access to those research options, yes, but they are in two separate trees, with RA being in a third tree. You have to research them separately, for no progress on RA. Just wanted to clear up that little misconception. Boy, there sure are a lot of little misconceptions a
I don't even know what to say to these RA posts anymore. I've pointed out a number of different means of combatting RA. I've listed two changes that would essentially remove any "OP" of the ability, and if you notice - they are not extreme changes, hence, the ability isn't extremely over powered. At most, it gives you an advantage against the average player who's mind is unable to grasp anything more than purely linear forms of attack. So... I give up. I am however obligated t
Hhhm. I guess I'll give it a shot. Sort of on an Advent learning kick at the moment though, lol!
If you look in your manual, or even better, the lore section on the webpage - you will see that the TEC (once known as the Trade Order), has been at war with the Vasari for ten years prior to the start of the game. You will also see that 1,000 years or so prior to the beginning of the game, the Trade Order exiled the entire population of a planet into deep space, due to largely a disagreement of ethics and morality - that and the fact that said culture did not embrace their grand view o
These things are the one piece of Vasari research that I have never, ever, ever tried. They just don't strike me as worthwhile. Phasic Barriers provide me with all the time delay I have ever needed. Has anyone actually ever had these things make a large difference? Between hangars, repair bays, and a phase stabilizer for quick travel, I don't really have much room left typically.
So, you really hit the nail on the head by suggesting that the best way to take on RA is by restricting your upkeep to a level at which you can replenish your forces at the same rate as you lose them. Trying to match the Vasari player's fleet size will often only end up winning you a few Pyrrhic victories.
In another thread concerning RA, I mentioned attacking in waves. What Vanechka has refined from CommanderAdama's post, much more clearly illustrates the concep
And if you're Advent, and therefore incapable of rushing, you are screwed 8 ways from Sunday.
I do my best work against Vasari with the Advent. RA is defeatable. I'm sure plenty of people on these forums have done so. There's no need to whine about RA any longer. RA =/= Game Over. From my point of view there are only two (one?) issues with RA that need resolving. 1) They need to not allow RA to take you into negative supply. Th
Ever stop to wonder why the Vasari and Advent use the Black Market in this game? They are both completely alien cultures, likely with different concepts of currency, probably with a different standard. How would you reduce a TEC credit to something a Vasari or Advent would want? So what do TEC credits represent? What standard do "credits" have in SoaSE that make them universally acceptable to all three races and pirates alike?
I'm pretty sure you can disable almost all of the little icons and what have you that show up, manually, at the very least. But I don't know of any way to completely disable/hide the GUI. Also, "enable twist" if you want to be able to get some really good angles for screen shots. You can sort of have a EAW style moving camera by ctrl-clicking on the ship you wish to follow, and by swiveling and zooming the camera around it. Just queue up some actions for it first before you sit

You can, hold alt & press F4.
This is just simply blatant trolling. It's not even a good one at that.
I laughed a little.
Cool, glad I could help you out.
Ok. I'm officially tired of people crying about RA. Returning Armada is the Vasari's means of longevity. TEC is expert at producing vast, vast, quantities of ships, and sending them wave after wave against the enemy until the fight is won. No one can do meat-grinder like the TEC. And they don't need any fancy tier 8 upgrades to do it, either. The Advent have amazing natural longevity when you use their support abilities in conjunction with one another. Couple
I think Ork motives are even more "pure" than Tyranid... "Oi! Ize iz Goff, and youz iz not! WAAAGH!!!" *sounds of bones crunching and flesh tearing amidst beastial screaming commence*
The 'Artifact Research' thing is an erroneous chart left over from the Beta. It has absolutely no current point - ignore it. You essentially 'research' your artifacts now via planetary exploration instead of having to research them separately once discovered. I presume removing said chart is low priority for IC. Which makes sense, as they have been extremely busy pushing out updates at a scale that is as 'unrivaled' as the scale of the game itself ;)
