5. Caps even after bomber nerf are still on the opposite side of being "invurnerable" - not only because LRFs are massacring them. Caps are natural target of focus-fire in every lategame battle, and even experienced caps have relatively low HP, SH and DPS. On top of them there is no way to spam them (which is good), because of their crew limits. Seriously, ~20% buff to hp, shields and DPS on caps will be good thing. If it is going to change early game too much, maybe better option is bu

If running the new MSGM does not solve the problem please post here as it means I may have to update my mini-mod yet again. Stant, you had mentioned that there were other options for Forge that did not make it into the Galaxy Scenario Def file? If they are going to be in the next patch could I get an advanced copy of that file as you have it to play with?
Rumor has it that inbetween moving to a new apartment, house sitting, and heavy work load at my job ... that I am finally starting to work on that Centauri Scout ship ... :-)
Look's like it's a Hamachi weekend again. :'(
And YES we do, there's nothing more fulfilling than utterly decimating an enemy with overwhelming fire-power
It's not quite as satisfying when it is your fleet that is getting face melted. Especially when you throw everything you have at the enemy fleet and it doesn't do any damage, it just makes them madder ... [e digicons]:omg:[/e]
I believe that currently the Vanilla races will NOT get new types of capital ships. They will be unique to the Xin. Keep in mind however that with Rebellion coming out, they will then getting new ship types. It will be interesting.
Well ... get a new one, or an old one ... Sins runs on them all!!! :-D
The Vasari will enjoy the challenge the Xin present. We will run no longer. [e digicons]*_*[/e]
^ Yes!
Most excellent. Thank you!
Agreed. Neat idea though.
I would largely have to agree with Ryat. The reason that I and our LAN group enjoy Sins so much is that you can have long large massive wars. It is what makes it so much fun. We'll play a 'campaign' over the course of a Saturday, a weekend, or a couple weekends depending on what we would like to accomplish. That's where we get our fun out of Sins.
Also, please have it be an in game option to allow the pirates to have interstellar research or not, or just make them be able to jump between the stars. This will help with increasing the options available to map makers and in some cases reduce system resources and lag by reducing the number of pirate bases in differing systems.
You have checked that you do have a DVD drive correct? This may seem like a silly question but what you are describing is what happens when you put a DVD into a CD-ROM drive. [e digicons]:X[/e]
Oh goodness Yarlen! Now what does that mean?! [e digicons]8O[/e] I really do think that increasing the amount of research entities (thus deepening the game) significantly helps with multi-star maps. Distant Stars as well as a few others in the past have done this very well while keeping the game balanced.
We know that, but I think what many people are wondering is whether they'd be able to load up Vanilla, Entrenchment, or Diplomacy separately if they only buy Rebellion.
While my statement is only my personal opinion I would speculate that if you purchase Rebellion you would ONLY be able to play Rebellion. Having a single game build without other versions will likely allow IC / SD to improve the efficiency as

Right at the top you will see this: starType designName "RandomNonGreenStar" designStringId "IDSGalaxyScenarioTypeStarRandomNonGreen" orbitBodyTypeCount 3 orbitBodyType "BlueStar" orbitBodyType "RedStar" orbitBodyType "YellowStar" <br /
What would have to be done to include those other stars in the 'non-green' random setting?
When using Distant Stars version of Galaxy Forge, when I select 'Non-Green Random Star' does that simply pick from the vanilla non-green stars or does it include things such as white stars etc? Also, if it does include the other DS stars, does it include the Sol star? It would be awesome if it did not include the Sol star but included everything else when selecting the non-green star. Thoughts?
Well, like I said, I've been doing it since before DS Diplo 0.7 With the improvements to the pirates this last round, they should be better equipped to make it work. I don't suppose this could be an 'extra' thrown in? :-\ I see the logic behind what you are discussing ... just something I think would be nice to have in the game I suppose.
Have you checked out the Stars mod by Aplos? The newest release now allows pirates to travel between stars (instead of being stuck in system.)
^ This? Apparently you can just give the pirates the research ... It would help a lot in large multi-star maps so you don't have to have a pirate base in every star system.
Maybe they don't actually want booty but ... water to put out the flames!!! Hmmm ... maybe they need to buy more bottled water for that reason ... would explain the desire for money I suppose.
