Excellent, thankyou for the heads up. Just didn't want to delve into the modding tutorials and whatnot just to find out what I want is rather impossible. thankyou again for the info peeps.
Darquies
before i dive into the info on how and what can be modded, Would you all mind if i could
Thankyou again, no, i didn't know that about the super warr ability, i thought everybody shot at the same time, and the super warr, lets u have the first shot. but if u killed em they couldn't shoot back. now i have a better understanding. Thankyou :)
Thanx gents, i was watching the fleet battle viewer, and your right, i get the first shot. I don't know why i thought it was the other way around lol.
Greets Gents I been using the super ability warrior(the one where you always get to attack first) And i'm thinking i'm not using it properly. So all of you who use that ability, how do u set up your attack ships? All Guns and engines All guns Or a mix between the three(basically what I'm doing now) On my current ships, half of the space gts guns, then i put on a warp Drive IV and then fill up what's left with a certain type of defen
So, what you're saying is that in a sortof "Twilight" kinda way, all if not most of the ongoing trade-routes happened to be on starting turns **simultaneously** at that precise moment in history!?!Gee, random luck is normally weird enough -- but , it makes sense that the general compiled figure would drop drasticly in such a rare condition. There's no way to control how fast or when these trader-ships finish their routes to reflect resulting BCs in the budget side of things; distances, dir
Thankyou Gents. I was wonderin if this was an online kinda game, how that would work, since it's turn based. I'll take a look at those sites in a bit, Mumblefratz. thankyou all for your input
Greets gents Just tryin to figure out what Exactly is this metaverse thing. I have created a character, and it basically ran just like any other of my games. is this metaverse thing like multi player(we all play on the same side) is there any sites or wiki's that could answer all of my newbish questions. I took a glance at the forums, and clicked on the faq, but it really didn't explain to me what this metaverse thingy is, did I not dig deep enough? Any
Yeah, you can actually watch it explore the map. The AI will send out a scout to a planet and only after it has confirmed that there is an inhabitable planet there will it send out its colony ship.If you only play humans, you are at the disadvantage of not knowing the layout of the planets. But that is a disadvantage of the race, not the game itself.
unfourtantly, i haven't played that long, to actually witnes this event. I do not even know how to take out the "fog of wa
what you are actually seeing is the effects of Stellar Cartography that, generally, the AI starts with and the Human player does not. This means that the AI knows where the planets, resources, anomalies, ships, etc are at the start of the game. It does not know where the habitable planets are, just that there are planets there. The sensor range in DA at least is hard coded at 15 parsecs for both the human player and the AI.
if the AI starts out with stellar cartography, w
ok i took another look at the traderoutes, and they run on a set number of turns. look in the tradewindow and you'll see something like 2/217 or what ever number there is. as the cycle gets closer to the end, your traderoutes(if u have econo bases along thier path) will skyrocket. :)
Tough.Tough is equal footing, the AI uses all available algorithms but doesn't receive any bonus abilities. Above that, the only advantage it gets are boni, it doesn't cheat in the sense that it automatically see planets, resources or any other thing. The algorithms stay the same. Also, at a certain point it seems that in fact the player gets these boni as well: Compare your research output from a 'normal' game to that of a 'suicidal' game.
I'm a newb, but i'm gonna have t
i believe what your talkin about is for the dialogue only, the agression and alignment sliders should do the other things that you were talkin about.
you should be able to install the game no matter what. the registration is for updates, i'm assuming that you checked the quality of your disks and took care of the scratches, otherwise, u may wanna recheck your comp's compatibilty. Now if you want to register the game, your gonna Have to have those codes, if ya don't, then i believe your gonna have to buy another reg code from stardock central.
watch list?
possibly, but i don't think so. you would have to have the game installed on the fast comp, and then manually take the update files out of the Dir and throw em on the flashdrive. and then manually install em on your regular comp. all in all, prolly not gonna happen.
Kinda found out someting about the "ethics" first off, every custom game i play, I start out as leaning towards evil(in fact the slider is all the way on the evil side) Since i'm playin a custom race, i don't know of any way to change that.(some peeps on another forum post gave me some ideas, but i couldn't make em work, i'm prolly slow:) Anyhoo, after i saw that, i have been doing zeno ehtics as one of my preliminary teks to research, b4 i get deep into the game. and after gettin
Been working most of this morning, and all of my playing last night, tryin to keep up with the AI with the financial slider at 100% for the AI(which is supposed to be equal to our tax revanue ability) I just can't keep up with them. I look at forein stats when i see it's becoming hopeless, and it's the same, they are like 1 to 2 times higher than me in the tax rev.(i'm talkin about civs that are relativly close to my total population.) I get a spy and take a look at what they're building, and
Hiya Gents Been tryin to tool around with the game since i figured out some things on modding. I'm able to mod planets(planet quality), rescources, and i believe ethics of race AI(thankyou modding forum peeps). so now i'm tryin to get it to where i can play with "equal" opponents. But the roadblock i keep hitting is the number of ships and such the AI has now. in my last game, i prolly didn't play for more than a half hour b4 the AI came and kicked me butt.&nbs
Well, I been playing for a lil bit now(prolly like 3 or 4 games) with the cpu and ai abilities maxxed out. As well as making sure that the "good guys" are edited to act like good guys. but the results are the same. they all act the same. if your military rating is less than thiers, they gonna try to extort ya and then declare war. the last game i just finished(actually got aniahilated on this one) i had a lil corner all to myself, and was quietly building up my military, earilier the yor tr
Just tried it out last night, haven't really made a descision on it yet, but the AI is surly eating up all the super projects, so it looks to be pretty kewl so far
thankyou gents.
I asked this recently, but didn't get a responce. Just wondering if i can make my onw maps for dark avatar. I see in the setup, there are custom maps. Was just wondering if i could make em myself. Or do i have to buy the newest add on? thanx gents
Hiya M8 Let thisx newb take a stab at it The 2 screens(the colony screen and the finaces screen) are ino for different playstyles, as well as for beginning and complex strategy development. With the colony screen, you can adapt the planets for what you want them to do(like u said with ur factory planets, and with your newly aquired planets) the finaces screen is when you have a lot of planets. that way you don't have to spend a lot of time going to each and every planet to mi
nevermind, it has now appeared on the left, and i'm all happy happy :) guess i had to wait before it took effect. Cheers. Btw, if u wanna know how to do it. pm me or just go into "my account" and goto images, and upload an image in the top one(personal icon" Cya folks
