(this bug may have been noted b4??, if so please ignore) I have found a bug where the colony ship does not launch but you colony's population goes down as if it has. I've been able to reproduce this bug a many times by doing the following. On the first turn, take your colony ship and colonize a local system. After colonizing, rush production of a colony ship on the 2 planets you now control. Next turn, go to one of the new colony ships, click on the s

OK, I have no problem with the programs, thanks for the info. But do they have to be loaded on startup. I found out XP has msconfig.exe just like 98. Love that program. I have used it to disable these two programs from startup. My question now is will I have to enable these to play Galciv? Another question. Exactly how does Smartex.exe work or how do I enable it to send a bug report. A link to previous posts or info would be appreciated. I have recently had a "bug" happ

I am curious as to why these programs have to load when windows starts up? At least they do on my computer and can't figure out how to prevent it. They are both from the Drengin directory. I am curious as to what they are needed for. The following is a page that has information about mcpserver. ****warning**** There is a banner ad on this page that has nudity (http://mcpsoftware.hypermart.net/mcp1.htm) This does not look like something I want installed

thanks for the reply Frogboy, As to the research thing. Is this intended with the purple "fields"? It seems kinda wrong that I am able to finish a research project in one month that was originally supposed to take more than 600 months! Maybe the player should be locked into a research choice. That way they wouldn't select a long project unless they know there is a "field" near by. later alien13c

Will the AI use the space "junk" in future releases? Right now I am the only on collecting the stuff. On the large map there is a lot of it. After this my ship was a super duper battleship! I other crafts should have the benefit of finding some (not all) of the different debris. Also the purple "fields" that let you finish a research project seem a little odd. In the game I just finnished all I did was search them out. There were a lot of them. I was able to finish on project tha

agreed! Also, it would be very useful if somehow we could have the mini-map and shiplist open at same time. And when you place your cursor over a ship in the list it would lite up on the mini-map. Along with this I think it would be cool if you could highlight the sector it was traveling to if in transit. I find it hard to locate where my ships are if I have a lot of them. Also in the ship list it would be nice if they are listed as to wether or not they are in orbi

Thanks Arturus. Anyone know if I can install the beta on more than one machine? I have two computers. The better one, which I like to use for games, is often occupied by my wife for school work. So sometimes I am forced to play on the other computer. I would like to be able to play from both computers. Is this going to be possible? Also, was going to order drengin.net but the site seems not to be working. Anyone know what is up with that???

I'm thinking of buying GalCiv, but I have some questions. How do I get the beta. Is there a link after I put my purchase order in for GalCiv? Can I have the beta on more than one machine. This would be nice since I use 2 different machines through out the day. Is there a projected time frame for the full version to be released. What happens if for some odd reason the game doesn't make it. Will I get my money back even though I got a beta copy? As
